Since 2005 starter list was 9, 8, 8, 9, 11, 12, 8, 6, 9, 13 ,10,7,9, 8, 10 and 10 whites. 9 this year.

Some interesting storylines to follow on this team. Former walk-on QB Aidan O'Connell returns as a starter in his final season. Iowa WR transfer Charlie Jones is a burner and return specialist who has gotten a lot of hype. On defense, Jack Sullivan is a stud, while FCS Murray State transfer Scotty Humpich could surprise this year.

Not as much defensive depth as we would like to see.

Offense -
QB - Aidan O'Connell
WR - Charlie Jones
TE - Payne Durham
LT - Eric Miller
LG - Spencer Holstege
C - Gus Hartwig
RT - Cam Craig

Defense -
DE - Jack Sullivan
OLB/DE - Scotty Humpich

Key back ups include WR Preston Terrell, TE Paul Piferi, C Spencer Holstege, RG Jared Byczinki.

After 3 games, WR Charlie Jones is 2nd in the country in receiving yards (474) and tied for 2nd in touchdowns (5). Really exciting to see.

Wouldn't it be cool if Kupp led the NFL in receiving again like last year and then Charlie Jones led the NCAA in receiving yards? Imagine
the media and dwf's trying to explain how a white guy could lead both college and the nfl in receiving yards? Jones NFL Stock
should be rising but it's a long year. Hope he can stay healthy and just keeplighting up the score board!

Graham Harrell is leaving WVU to become OC at Purdue. He's a former Mike Leach Air Raid quarterback who also held the same position at USC.

I'm not enthused about the new head coach, black former Illinois DC Ryan Walters. Getting Harrell is great for his staff, though. Coming from a school within the conference, he's not likely to take many colleagues with him. Since Walters is only 36, one realistic difficulty he will have is hiring and managing a staff that will by default be older and more experienced than him. Harrell is virtually the same age, has head coaching aspirations of his own, and will be given a heavy hand to run the whole segment of the team.

In terms of being friendly or fair to white athletes, neither seems to have started with an outstanding track record.

Drew Brees is also joining the staff as an interim assistant coach for Purdue's bowl game against LSU. It will be interesting to see if he wants to stick around the program next season, too.

I saw that yesterday. Usually it’s the guys that are projected to go high in the draft that opt out of the bowl game, which is why this announcement surprised me. Usually if guys still have some things to prove they will play in the bowl game, but it looks like these guys are healthy and want to stay that way.

In other notes, Charlie Jones led the NCAA in receptions and receiving yards. After bowl season I don’t know if that will stand, but wow what an amazing season for Jones.
