There's currently 16 on NFL rosters, with 5 starting.

I went by OurLads' current depth charts:

Braxton Berrios, Jets -- second string
Cole Beasley, Bills -- starter
Jake Kumerow, Bills -- second string
Gunner Olszewski, Patriots -- third string
Hunter Renfrow, Raiders -- starter
Adam Humphries, Redskins -- starter
Dax Milne, Redskins -- third string
Tom Kennedy, Lions -- second string
Adam Thielen, Vikings -- starter
Dan Chisena, Vikings -- fourth string
Brandon Zylstra, Panthers -- third string
Scott Miller, Bucs -- second string
Andy Isabella, Cardinals -- second string
Cooper Kupp, Rams -- starter
Danny Amendola, Texans -- second string
Ben Skowronek, Rams -- third string, currently on IR eligible to return

By my count 16 more are currently on practice squads and one on the PUP list, which makes a total of 32 in the league, though the odds of any of the practice squad receivers seeing regular season action are remote. Trent Taylor and David Sills likely have the best chance if there are injuries in front of them:

River Cracraft, 49ers
Trent Taylor, Bengals
Tanner Gentry, Bills
Austin Proehl, Chargers
Michael Bandy, Chargers
Gehrig Dieter, Chiefs
Austin Trammell, Falcons
David Sills, Giants
Dillon Stoner, Raiders
J. J. Koski, Rams
Cody Thompson, Seahawks
Mason Kinsey, Titans
Landon Akers, Rams
Alex Erickson, Panthers
Alex Bachman, Giants, currently on IR eligible to return

Justin Watson, Bucs (PUP list)

Kupp, Renfrow, Beasley and Thielen are all potential 1000 yard receivers. Otherwise, slim pickings. Gunner should not be a 3rd stringer, and I’m hoping for a breakout season from him.

Another one I just remembered is Justin Watson of Tampa, who is on the reserve/PUP list, so that makes 27. However he'll be buried on the depth chart if he's activated during the season. I don't even expect Scottie Miller to equal last year's production unless/until Antonio Brown screws up.

Chisena has been placed on IR. I feel these numbers never change year in and year out. The Caste System keeps chuggin along.

Also Matt Sexton not being signed to a PS beyond absurd. He proved this preseason that he has the athletic ability to play in the NFL.

Chisena is eligible to return after three games though he'll likely be just a WSTD when he does. The Vikings have definitely disappointed, was hoping they might have three White receivers but legacy players Beebe and Proehl were shown the door with injuries as the excuse.

Pretty sure LA Rams have Landen Akers on the PS as well as Koski.

Alex Erickson picked up by Carolina and added to their practice squad, so that gives us 30 on rosters, practice squads and PUP.

According to one article I read, Erickson may take over kick return duties for the Panthers, perhaps starting as soon as Sunday. Carolina having two White receivers is unexpected, though it's highly unlikely Zylstra or Erickson will be catching many passes barring injuries.

Danny Amendola signing with Houston moves the total number of White wide receivers on rosters and practice squads to 32, or an average of one per team. That may be a record for the hard-core Caste era, but the lack of starters and the deep backup status of many of them isn't cause to celebrate.

Anyone know what the numbers for the 2022 season were? I know Cupp was hurt but was tearing up the league. I was pleasantly surprised by the guy on the Colts (rookie), I think he managed 500 yards despite how awful they were on offense.

**Edit: His name is Alec Pierce and it was 593 yards with 2 TDs. The Colts were 23rd in Passing yards. 3 different starting QBs...AND he was a rookie. Bravo!!**
