Ash Moloney becomes Australia's youngest male athletics medal winner 8649 points (personal best by 157) and only 77 points or so behind Kevin Mayer's Silver. Damien Warner exemplary performance for Gold with his 9000+

Two of their runners (Kerley and Baker) qualified for the men's 100m finals, and another (Bromell) was a millisecond away from doing so as well. The problem, unsurprisingly, is poor communication skills. That's why most other team events have a much more white-friendly racial composition. The "crabs-in-a-bucket" mentality that's been cultivated in urban neighborhoods disincentivizes so many black athletes from playing selflessly and working for the sake of the team rather than for one's own stats. Our men's basketball team is the exception that proves the rule - just watch their comically bad performance against France, going for 3-pointer after 3-pointer while down by 2 near the end of the game. And yes, it's an all-star squad that doesn't normally play with each other during the regular season, but given that the same athletes are chosen over and over to represent us in international competition, you'd think they'd have developed some semblance of teamwork by now.

4x100m relay US screwed up, also the Chinese muffed the last handoff abit but the anchor was able to stay in the zone, Canadas leadoff stepped out of his lane during handoff why not DQ'd? Tortu was flying, heldoff the US anchor runner.

Forgot to mention Femke Bols incredible anchor run in the 4x400m relay, she looked like a beast. Sad that Shae Anderson wont get to run in the 4x400m relay, USA going with 4 negresses. If the Americans medal Anderson wont get one because she didnt get to participate in a race.

Ash is 6'5" - Brown reckons if he wanted to train simply for the 100 he'd hold the Australian record within a year, he has the best score for a 21 year old decathlete, if he trained specifically he'd be selected in 5 Olympic events.
He also says that if he remains free of major injury he could be first to around 9,500 points and will break Mayer's WR within 2 years.
Well, regardless, he's not at all bad ..... but we all know anything can go wrong at top level

As much as Australia needs more high level male sprinters if it's broke don't fix it. He is too talented to give up the Decathalon unless he starts to have alot of injuries.

To say that he could run that fast in the 100 is quite the statement. He is a fine athletic specimen and his future could indeed bring some world records. Exciting times
to see an Elite Level Decathlete from Australia.

Incredible finish from Tortu in the 4x100. He started down on the black British runner and I didn't give him much chance but he came through amazingly. Would be interested to see his split. If only he could perform like that from a standing start! Nice to see Kilty still running too.

Tortu probably took over a metre from the Brit Nathaniel Mitchell-Blake on that anchor. Kilty will possibly finish his career with his silver tonight

Does it even matter that whites are dominating sport climbing and other obscure events? To me this just seems like a way for anti-white racists to point and laugh at us, "white people can only dominate at all of the joke sports", and so on. Basically just like with kicking and punting in the NFL.

It will be interesting to watch the progression of Lorenzo Patta. He is only 21 years old and has a 10.13 PB for 100 meters and now a relay gold medal.

Yes we need to see the splits of this race. Tortu also looked equally fast in the 4 x 100 Semi Finals. I think he was very angry he didn't make the 100 meter finals. It's been an up
and down year for him. The 10.10 he ran in the first round of the 100 meters Olympic Heats with very little wind shows he is in good shape. Like Browning I also hope he races
several more times before the summer ends. I hope Italy will allow their athletes to still compete in a few more meets in Europe. Congrats to Italy. New National Record! It was
also nice to see Jamaica finally fall flat as they have dominated so many of the sprints.

Over the years of watching this there has been a pattern of the European athletes peaking later in the season, so I am really looking forward to seeing Tortu, Patta, Browning and Warholm still getting in some races before the 2021 season is over.

And they may only dominate temporarily - but I don't think so. Limb lengths, agility and all sorts of other factors (cost?) mean it's open to the people from any place on the globe. Very soon there'll be every colour mix imaginable doing this sport.
I'm intrigued by it. And climbing is natural, many of us do or have done - a natural, basic "fortius, citius, altius" type of endeavour.

I'd be ditching team sports if it was my world to control (soccer, baseball, basketball - pleaase!). Things that take up so much time and generate the most basic and gross tribal-ness.
And table tennis and other hobbies wouldn't get much of a run from me either LOL.

The IOC wants to appear all inclusive with regards getting new sports into every Games (simply for reasons of filthy lucre) so may as well lobby for the ones we want to see in there.

Closest I'd allow to team sports would be various relays

Visser and Schippers screwup again. Daphne left way too early just like the Japanese men did in their final. Schippers and Visser have been flawless for the past few years and now can’t make a handoff?...hmmm

Tortu was flying down the stretch, I mean that kid was moving! I will admit LMJ ran a good 2nd after receiving the baton from an excellent lead off. Bingtan Su’s excellent 3rd leg went for naught as once again the anchor left too soon, otherwise they would have got 3rd.

friggen announcers all they could talk about was kambungi when the star of their sprint team is Del Ponte!!

Great for Kilty to get a silver medal, he runs such an excellent bend. Without Kilty the brits would have been hard pressed to beat the Chinese quartet.

goodon Laura Muir! She is as mentally tough as they come and looks like she is on air when she is running. I really admire her as a runner!

Felix gets bronze but she can shove her “activist” psyche where the sun don’t shine. Still like her sprinting form.

Big let down for the German ladies as Luckenkemper couldn’t seal the deal, 3rd to 5th in the final 30m. She’s still a beautiful gal though!

I used to have Christophe Lemaitre for a long time. If I didn't have Boling I would have either Filippo Tortu or Rohan Browning. You

I will post the video of the mens 4 x 100 relay final from the Tokyo Olympics tommorow when we have a high quality video of the race. Here
is a great picture that Filippo Tortu of Italy will probably have hanging in his house of him winning the gold by an eyelash!

What an accomplishment for the young Norwegian.
And how amazing that tiny Norway (population 5.3 million) has 2 Olympic track gold medalists!
