2021 Track Season Results

I think he is struggling and was faster in high school over 100m. I feel he has a shot for top 3 in the 200 more than the 100. If this Fanbullah guy gets his start down in the 200m Laird is in trouble.

Sad to see Jewell and Beck not make it. Hopefully Jewell continues on his career and Beck does good at next years championships.

We must keep in mind that Matt Boling is only on year two of his outdoor track developments in 100/200.
He came along and started running the 100m in March 2019 and peaked at the Pan-Am U20 in August with a legit 10.11.
2020 was paused and now 2021 June is part way through year two. He has Borzov/Bolt like ability, just needs more time.

Michael Bluth of BYU was the 2nd fastest qualifier in the West regionals - a very good time of 45.13.
He only ran 46.14 in the qualifying round, so a massive improvement!

Michael Bluth made it into the NCAA 400m finals. He had the slowest time of any of the qualifiers - 45.78, but at least he made it.
I hope he can get back down to 45 flat or lower, like he did in the West regionals.
Anyway, we've got a guy in the 100m, 200m, and 400m finals. I wonder when was the last time that happened?

Great stuff as a freshman ...boling advances .....but also importantly bluth makes the 400 final ...that’s. Important ...bluth has some real ability ...not sure about BYU though ...maybe he will transfer to Oregon ....hi yurt totally agree re : boling and LSU.. note ..,bothe cole and jewell deserve some real credit ..especially jewell ...central arkansas ....shows there’s still some real good talent in small places .....I still boling has a top 5 finish in him as a freshman ...possibly a medal if he pbs ..........the 100 is wide open ....and I feel bluth has a top 5 finish in him And possibly a medal if he pbs ...but only if the weather is good ......for both athletes ....

Unfortunately, because they were not automatic qualifiers from the semis, they have bad lanes for the finals.
Bluth has lane 1, which is really tough for the 400m.
Boling has lane 2 for the 100m final.

Femke Bol set a new PB and National Record today in Italy - 53.44!
She is now among the elite 400m hurdlers in the world.

Jakob Ingebrigsten won the 5000m in Florence in an incredible time of 12:48.45!!

I don't follow the longer distances too much, but I know anything around low 13 minutes is fantastic.
It turns out that this is a European record!
This kid is an incredible, amazing talent!!!

that 6ft height, smooth stride and (i think) slender but obviously powerful frame of hers is certainly working for her. I hope this means very few injuries over her blossoming career.

Jakob I ....... just what distance CAN'T he run?

Great news about both Femke Bol and Jakob Inngebrigsten. Both living legends at such a young age. So much talent!

In other sprinting news there are some guys I've been watching for and they are still missing in action. Fillipo Tortu of Italy has only run once
all year and the Olympics is a month away. He ran twice if you want to count a 4 x 100 relay but I'm talking about the individual races. Then he is
not part of the Rome Diamond League. Jacobs is in his place. I'm guessing he is hurt but can't find news anywhere. He really needs to get a couple of
races under his belt soon to see he can run some faster times. He ran 10.18 in his only race. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Henrik Larsson has not raced at all outdoors? It's an olympic year and he is so young like Tortu. Injury? Who knows what's going on. I have such high hope
for this kid as his talent is amazing. By far the best Male Swedish Sprinter! Hope to see him out there soon but with many of these guys they will not be in
any type of shape for the olympics so I imagine most won't go unless it's for the relay squad. So sad to see.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen has just ran a huge caste busting run in the 5000m.
To put his accomplishment in perspective: this was the third fastest 5000m race ever and the man he beat has been in all three races.
2012 Paris (FRA): 1. Gebremskel ETHOPIA
2. Hagos Gebrhiwet ETHOPIA

2018 Bruxelles (BEL):1. Barega ETHOPIA
2.Hagos Gebrhiwet ETHOPIA
3.Kejelcha ETHOPIA

2021 Firenze (ITA):1. Jakob Ingebrigtsen NORWAY
2. Hagos Gebrhiwet ETHOPIA

Another White Superstar is Soufiane El Bakkali the 3000m Steeplechaser from MOROCCO. He is already Top Ten all-time and has the fastest time this season.
At 6-4/137 he is a full foot taller than the Kenyans and Ethiopians that he competes against.
I would challenge anybody to prove he is not 100% White.

Today is the finals of the 100 and 200 meters for the 2021 NCAA National Championships. First off good luck to Boling and also to the other guys we are rooting for.

One point I want to make about Boling is that he is the real deal. Look at guys like Teeters, Quinn, Tortu, etc, and most of our 100 meters stars are average over 200 meters. Only Lematire
and Guliyev recently have been good over both distances similar to the great Valeriy Borzov and also Pietro Mennea! :)

They have very little or no speed endurance. This is not the case with Boling. Yes he hasn't broke his 10.11 from two years ago yet but that was
mostly due to covid (missed last season entirely outdoors) and him putting on some weight and muscle. His body has to learn to adapt to being bigger now. Either way he has still run
legal 10.15 and legal 20.06 this year so far and that's with bad running form. He is a superstar on the verge of HUGE THINGS! Mark my words to any doubters. It doesn't have to happen
this year. He has 2 years of college left if he doesn't turn pro early. Time will show he is going to be up there with the best sprinters in the world. Fixing his form is the most important thing
and also get a more explosive start. I hope he suprises us today with two new personal bests regardless of where he finishes the races.

Boling is definitely struggling a little right now. I hope today can be the breakthrough.

Laird's best indoor 200 is the 20.20 he ran barely losing to Boling (who ran 20.19), yet Laird's best outdoor 200 is 19.81 compared to Boling's 20.06. Something does not add up. It could very well be that Boling is overtrained.

Tortu is racing in Geneva tomorrow.
I hope he can throw down a fast time. Geneva is at high altitude, so that should help his time.
We'll need to see not only his time, and how he performs against the other competitors.

Meanwhile Henrik Larsson has not performed well the past few seasons. I don't know what happened to him.
He recently ran a 10.51 in Sweden.
I am not expecting much from him this season.

Where did you get the 10.51 jack? I looked everywhere but the only 10.51 was on a thing talking about him and hobbies

Nevermind I found it. It was his first race of the season and also his first race since august of last year

I have been going through some of our guys times and it seems like a lot of them had good 2019 times just to get derailed in 2020. Hopefully many get back to where they were. Oliver Bromby has yet to run a 100m at all this season

Laird’s HUGE improvement is something, for sure. he looks so smooth and effortless. and despite his slender frame, he is super explosive.

meanwhile, Boling has clearly added a lot of muscle BUT looks to be running tight. he used to look smooth (much like Laird), but now it seems like he’s trying to force the speed to come instead of running relaxed.

here’s hoping he performs VERY well tonight!

That’s exactly what Boling is doing, Jimmy.
Matt is forcing things. Laird is on year six of development/Boling is on year two.
Laird was at Penn St. then LSU where he has had a massive improvement. I think Boling should go to LSU and continue moving forward.
