Since 2006, Texas has started 7, 6, 8, 9, 8, 5, 6, 7, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, 6, and 5 white players. In 2021 Texas will start 6.

Texas hasn’t had a white player start on defense since S Dylan Haines in 2016, that could change this year with Brenden Schooler’s long overdue move back to safety. Schooler played well in spring ball and started in the spring game. On offense it’s the same as usual but worse since WR Jake Smith transferred. Hudson Card will be a special player at QB, a true dual threat. A few guys that are backups on defense but Texas rarely ever rotates on defense, maybe that will change with new coaching staff?

RT: Derek Kerstetter (SR)

LB: Luke Brockermeyer (JR)

Players to watch: WR Kai Money, TE Brayden Liebrock, TE Gunnar Helm, OG Logan Parr, OT Andrej Karic, DE Jett Bush, DT Sawyer Goram-Welch

Some more pretzel logic from weenie world. Card was ranked the #2 dual threat QB in the nation yet it's Casey Thompson who is more mobile...:rolleyes:

Texas freshman QB Hudson Card worked with the first team offense in Tuesday's practice.
Card (6'2/195) is a local boy who attended Lake Travis HS and was rated the No. 2 dual-threat QB in the nation from the 2020 freshman class. He's embroiled in a heated battle with redshirt freshman Casey Thompson for the right to pilot new HC Steve Sarkisian's high octane offense. Though Thompson started last year's bowl game after Sam Ehlinger opted out, Card looked much better in the spring game. There is still a ways to go, but Card is the better pure passer while Thompson is more mobile. Texas welcomes Louisiana to Austin on September 4 in their season opener.

How has Texas's defense been since then? Bring this up to the so called experts and see what they say, coaches have come and gone in that time but their defense has been abysmal in that span and it is directly correlated to the lack of white players on the defensive side of the ball.
 
Forgot about Haines! Thought he had some pro potential.

Dylan Haines (6’1” 205lbs) had 13 INT’s (returned for 238 yards) in only 3 seasons. Hmm wonder why he didn’t get a chance in the NFL?

Haines also began his career as, you guessed it, a walk-on. it’s like these stories write themselves.

Former walk-on Luke Brockermeyer won the starting MLB job, nice! His twin brothers were super high rated recruits this year who both went to Alabama. Looks like Brenden Schooler will be starting at safety, his career is finally coming full circle with him ending his career playing the position he is meant to play.
