Since 2005, Iowa has started 11, 13, 15, 15, 13, 12, 11, 12, 16, 13, 14, 14, 16, 15, 9 and 14 white athletes. The Hawkeyes are projected to start 14 again in 2021.

Iowa remains one of the most consistent programs in college football. Along with Wisconsin they remain a CF favorite and it's easy to see why.

Spencer Petras was inconsistent last season. With an eight game season, spring and fall camps under his belt let's hope he emerges as a top QB in the Big Ten. The Hawkeyes feature two WRs with NFL potential - Nico Ragaini and Charlie Jones. Jones is also slated to server as the Hawkeyes Punt and Kick Returner. TE Sam La Porta is another integral part of this offense.

On defense they commit the biggest caste crime by having a White starting CB in Riley Moss. Moss has been a good CB for the Hawkeyes over his three years. He's obviously a threat to the Caste System so let's hope he is in store for a big year. I think the last starting White CB in the Big Ten was Dustin Fox. On the defensive line Zach VanValkenburg played well last year as he transferred up from Division II. Expect a good year for him in 2021 which should help his draft stock.

A player to look forward to in the future (maybe even this season) is DB Cooper DeJean. Uber-athletic and talented. It would be nice to see him line up next to Koerner and Moss in the secondary this season.

Another year of Iowa being a CF favorite! Hope Moss emerges as a draft-able player.

So Iowa is one of the top defenses in the country and is also majority White, which is almost unheard of these days. Do you think anyone will make the connection? Or will recruiting for major programs on the defensive side remain 100% coal black?

I was watching the Iowa game when Riley Moss made his 4th interception, then went down without contact while “celebrating.” It didn’t look like much, but the way he went down and couldn’t get up was concerning. I was sick and had to change the channel. When you only have one White cornerback to watch, it can all be over in an instant. I haven’t heard an update on his status going forward.

Kirk Ferentz was supposedly “optimistic” about Moss so let’s hope he is able to return and was only kept out as a precautionary measure.

Looks like Iowa hosted a bunch of non White recruits last week for the game - I hope none of them end up at Iowa.

Yep, it was like Christian McCaffrey all over again. This is why we should never be satisfied with one token guy at the verboten positions.

Hopefully both C-Mac and Moss return next week.

more good news regarding Riley Moss: according to head coach Kirk Ferentz at his press conference today, Moss will not need surgery and should be back “in a couple weeks.”

so hopefully that means he’ll miss only the Purdue game (Iowa has a bye week after that) and be ready for the next opponent. i will be VERY excited if that’s the case, because the way he went down without being touched conjured up images of a major knee injury.

According to PFF, Riley Moss is the highest graded CB in college football. Man I am excited to see what his future holds.

let’s read that another way: the highest graded cornerback in all of Division One college football is the Only starting White cornerback in all of Division One college football.

anyone who has even a minimal knowledge of a bell curve should be asking, “Why aren’t there any other White corners?”

Great point. Like Christian McCaffrey at running back, in order for a White athlete to get a chance at these taboo positions, they literally have to be in the top 1%. In other words, elite.

Iowa goes 10-2. Outstanding season! Perhaps 4 star QB Deuce Hogan will be the answer under center in 2022. They have been a fun team to watch, that defense is great. My guess is they will get an SEC matchup in the bowl game.

Iowa signs Ferentz to an extension going to 2030. On the heels of that news he does this.

Iowa head coach Kirk Ferentz has disbanded the diversity group created in 2020.
This alumni advisory committee was created in 2020 after an investigation found evidence of racial bias against black players and bullying by some of the team's assistants. Ferentz's came to the decision to end the committee shortly after its leader, former Iowa offensive lineman David Porter, suggested it was time for Iowa to cut ties with the coach. Iowa not only won't let go of Ferentz but in fact, gave an extension making him the head coach till 2029. Ferentz said that he had decided to overhaul the committee before Porter made these comments. This committee began in 2020 when dozens of former players, most of them black, spoke out on social media to allege racial disparities and mistreatment within the program. As a result, longtime strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle was let go.

Yes, Yes, Yes and we need more good news in 2022! Maybe it will be the slow start of our people taking pride like everyone else does. Love this. Thanks for posting it.

Hahaha, excellent news! I hope plenty of 4-star prospects from the hood are left seething in outrage and Ferentz has to reach deeper into the recruiting barrel for some more overachieving lunchpail types.
