Since 2005 the white starter list is 5,5,5,5,5,6,2,8,7,8,7,4,3 and 3. In 2021 they are projected to start 3 (maybe 4).
JT Daniels is the only reason to tune into to any UGA games this year. If the stars align he may be this year's Joe Burrow. I would love to see him have a healthy season and be highly productive. He was truly a revelation last year when he came in to save the stagnant UGA offense. Some may recall how everyone was hyping up a black quarterback to be the type of player to give a spark to the UGA offense - well that black quarterback is no longer on the team.
Like other top 25 schools UGA has a roster filled with highly ranked QB recruits - 5 Star Freshman Brock Vandagriff and 4 Star RS Freshman Carson Beck are both on the roster behind start JT Daniels. Ideally one of these two transfer out and land a starting job at another school.
UGA should serve as a cautionary tale and perhaps a reason we are seeing a thinning out of rosters/depth charts across the board when it comes to White athletes. Below are a list of pretty highly regarded White athletes that litter the bottom rungs of the UGA depth chart. Any of these players would have been much better served to commit to a school outside of the SEC. Instead they seem to be content chasing the "name brand" schools. Youthful naivety and a lack of knowledge about the caste system come into play. These kids should have HS coaches that provide them the honest layout of the racial discrimination of the caste system.
Other Players of note on the roster: TE Brock Bowers (4 star recruit), WR Ladd McConkey (3 star recruit), John Staton IV (transfer - Previously played at Samford - had a standout 2019 season 116 total tackles - 50 solo, 3 TFL, 1 FR), LB Chaz Chamblis (4 star recruit), DL Bill Norton (4 Star recruit)
OFFENSE:
QB JT Daniels
TE John Fitzpatrick *started 5/10 games in 2020
C Warren Ericson
RG Tate Ratledge
