2021 College Football Write-ups

I know it’s a bit early for this post but am hoping that getting it up now will at least drum up some additional interest from missing and newer members.

It is about 4 months until the start of college football but let’s at least get the conversation going to gauge interest and get members into wanting to contribute.

I know some contributors like to wait until official 2 deeps are released which makes total sense to me. At the same time doing some more thorough research into teams and providing more than the basic white starter count does indeed make for a more interesting read.

Members @Phall (Michigan) @Bucky (Wisconsin) @Red Raider (Texas Tech) @Claimjumper (Colorado/Colorado ST.) all do great jobs doing a bit more thorough analysis on teams they have familiarity with. I think it would be great to see more of these types of write ups. I know it’s not realistic to do thorough “deep dives” into all teams but if anyone has a team they have a a more thorough knowledge of and want to provide a more in depth analysis of that team it would be a good way to add a little more content.

With that said I still feel like 90% of the write ups will be the standard two deep type analysis which is completely fine and what I plan on doing for most of my write ups.

Sounds great. I'm happy to take a short handful or two of teams for deeper write-ups. I really don't have a preference, so feel free to stick me with any of them. I think the most utility will be had by beefing up the content for big teams (here at CF and overall) that get a lot of buzz. They'll just be easier to talk about. Notre Dame, Clemson, Stanford, Iowa, USC, and a few of the top power teams come to mind.

The Cyclones will be competing for the Big 12 title. Also, it will probably take me a couple months of intensive research to figure out if Campbell is white or not!

It's a mixture - some folks wait until the official 2 deep depth charts are released for a team however this does not usually occur until a few days before a game up to the start of the game itself. Some teams will have the post spring-practice depth chart/fall camp depth chart posted early in August which can be used. Others will rely on ourlads, twitter, preview magazines to be used as a resource.

I'll say it's a mixture for me personally. When possible I do like to do a deep dive into a roster to see if I can target any potential sleepers. It's all about the time, effort and amount of research you are willing to invest. Check out some of the 2020 write ups to get an idea. The most important thing is to keep the yearly total in the write-up as a reference.

Pretty sure he's white...lol. Iowa St is all yours. Campbell has been impressive at ISU - has been fairly "white friendly" but we have seen plenty of other coaches show promise only to sell out once they land one of the big time jobs (Harbaugh being a prime example.) I am personally hoping to see Michigan implode - Harbaugh has been a disappointment in Ann Arbor. Everyone expects Oklahoma to run away with the Big 12 this year with their cuck head coach and poster child to stop miscegenation at quarterback.

Usually like the wait n see approach so CF posters can do the teams they like most ...i have had the privilege of doing Clemson & Stanford over the years. But if others would like a turn w those teams please feel free. Also got Rice & Arkansas last year . Sometimes maybe a rotation La. Tech for few other mid-majors. I'm just a college football junkie

Thanks. I think you did Purdue last year - they should certainly be a team to root for as long as Horvath is the focal point of the offense and Karalifits (spelling) continues to be viewed in a positive manner like the Bosa brothers.
