2021 College Football Week 5

Arkansas does not list Pool as a starter. Hudson Clark also not a starter. JT Daniel not starting for UGA due to injury.

Mertz sucks.

Wisconsin is wasting an Elite D.

Michigan taking advantage.

Finally some signs of life! 2 great back to back throws from Mertz to Dike. 13-10 Michigan up at half. We have a ballgame folks!

just a quick follow up to the Iowa game ... all three White defensive backs who played for the Hawkeyes came away with interceptions.

Hopefully Mertz keeps up the hot streak he ended the 1st half on.

Yep Hudson Clark has pretty much only played special teams this year. Pretty disappointing stuff.

when you set the defense to “heisman” level ...

UGA pretty impressive - if Ole Miss does not upset the status quo in the SEC than UGA should. Stetson Bennett is a good story but limited as QB, once Daniels is back healthy the UGA offense will be much more potent. Bowers and McConkey will be much more involved.

Wake Forest 4-0 in tight battle with Louisville. RS Freshman Taylor Morin 3 receptions 81 yards and 1 TD in the first half. QB Hartman 201 yards passing 1 TD in the first half.

Pitt QB Kenny Pickett with another strong game - he now boasts a 19 td/1 int ratio. Draft stock up?!

Michigan goes up big on Wisconsin. The Badgers show some life at the end of the 1st half. My guess is they end up 7-5. Outside of Iowa they should be be able to matchup well against the rest of their opponents. Remaining schedule is Illinois, Army, Purdue, Iowa, Rutgers, Northwestern, Nebraska, Minnesota. Most of those games are winnable. Perhaps Mertz finally gained his confidence before getting that hit to the ribs. The Badgers defense can't carry the team if their is no semblance of a running game that has traditionally been a trademark of the offense. I'll take UM over Ohio St any day of the week so hopefully they continue to get better although the juggling between McNamara and McCarthy does not seem necessary.

Morin with the great catch going OOB with one foot in. Hartman/Morin a great combination. Morin now with 6 receptions/ 122 yards. Hartman 250 yards. WF up 27-17.

I watched Pickett live down here in NC at Wake Forest when he was a RS Sophomore. He looked really good back then. Glad to see him playing himself into the NFL!

Nice - Hartman is overlooked nationally - he was always better than the black quarterback he lost his job to due to injury. Throws a great ball, very good arm strength. If WF goes 5-0 that will be very impresive! I wish that DB Nick Anderson was starting for WF though. He had 4 INTs last year as a freshman.

Yea Pickett has been pretty good over his career at Pitt but this year he looks to have found his consistency. Honestly, this year's group of senior QBs has not been inspiring (neither have the chosen underclassmen black quarterbacks the media have been hyping) so I feel Pickett could be primed for a rise in his draft stock.

Right LF. Though not prototypical QB size wise, he reminds me a little of Drew Breese. He's a RS Sophomore so if he continues to improve will certainly get a shot in the NFL.

Don't know if Anderson started or not. I didn't see the beginning of the game, but he was in during the last defensive series.

What's he about - 6'1" ? I was always struck by his arm strength when I watched WF. He throws the ball well - nice tight spirals with good velocity.

Yes, he's listed at 6'1. After throwing an INT, Hartman comes back to thrown another TD pass and kept the drive alive by scrambling for a first down. WF has a 6'5 245 lb. TE named Chapman who hasn't caught a pass all day? Should be a big target?

BTW, Luke Masterson LB is still starting for WF. NFL potential? Louisville tying the score as I post 34-34. Wake needs to pull this one out with 3:00 left.

WF at 5-0!

Wake Forest pulls out the win 37-34. Hartman throws for 324 yards and 2 TD's.. Don't know where Morin went. After catching 6 passes for 122 yards he mysteriously disappeared.

6'-3" 213 Cincinnati WR Alec Pierce with the NFL-caliber catch for 45 yards adjusting in mid air between two Irish defenders!
