Tucker Gregg scored 3 touchdowns today for Georgia State. he’s an athlete that should be playing a featured role for a MUCH better program, but instead he’s clawed up from the bottom as a walk-on and turned table scraps into big time results for a can’t-throw-the-ball high school offense and affirmative action institution.

the dude is a football player.

Elite Freshman Tight End UGA Brock Bowers with the grown man run of 24 yards on the end around.....QB Bennett missed him earlier on a deep route possibly for 50+ yard TD ...instead the ball was thrown to sideline Bowers caught that pass w ONE FOOT in bounds ...REVIEW = ROBBED

East Carolina 5'-7" WR Tyler Snead 113 receiving yards on 13 catches

Looks like Purdue defense was not ready after the emotionally draining win over Michigan State ; brutal schedule
Nice route on the TD Catch by Jackson Anthrop earlier!

WAY TO GO CHARLIE JONES! Hawkeyes need more EXPLOSIVE PLAYS LIKE THAT! Feed that man the ball!!!!

Georgia State RB Tucker Gregg 67 yards rushing on 18 carries & 3 TD's

Would have been nice to see Will Shipley playng U.Conn...my guess after the injury ...came back 25 carries (surprising) 128 yards vs FlaSt. then 13 carries last week...not sure he's 100% ; understand the rest ; though big stats would be nice! Clemson needs Shipley for the stretch run!

NC State DL Daniel Joseph with the cheap shot on Sam Hartman well after the play was over. Hartman could have easily been knocked of the game, but fortunately for Wake Forest Hartman is ok.

Air Force senior wideout Brandon Lewis with a 92-yard touchdown catch-and-run. announcers kept raving about his breakaway speed (as his career numbers validate), yet he’s never been more than a bit player for the Academy. “weird,” huh?

Trying to watch Borghi and WSU just sucks. Three coaches in.
One of the announcers mentioned how he de-committed from Stanford.
Small mistake.
The kid that went to Colorado made the bigger mistake.
Beau Bisharat. Wasted talent.

https://www.indystar.com/story/spor...ll-carson-steele-signs-ball-state/4375642001/

Steele picked up scholarship offers from Ball State, Indiana State, Illinois State, Southern Illinois and Western Illinois. After his senior season, both Indiana and Purdue offered him a preferred walk-on spot. It was a route that appealed to the 2019 Mr. Football, New Palestine running back Charlie Spegal, who was on Indiana’s scout team last season as a redshirt freshman.

Steele said Indiana talked to him about potentially switching to linebacker, but was open to him trying out at running back. So was Purdue. But he sensed more of an opportunity at Ball State to play immediately.

“I just want to go somewhere and play,” Steele said. “I don’t really want to go sit the bench for a couple years and then try to play. I want to go somewhere and play right away. I think at Ball State I’ll have that opportunity if I go in and work hard. It was definitely a tough decision.”

I think he made a great decision and has the right mindset.

It's a shame to see Charlie Spegal just riding the pine at Indiana as a fkn walk on!

Texas loses to Kansas - that’s one of the more comical outcomes in the past few seasons. A team full of highly (over) rated affletes that perennially disappoints.

Anthrop really hurt Purdue’s chances with the muffed punt that put the game out of reach really early. Hopefully he still gets plenty of touches in the next two games.

I think Johnson need to join Brennan in transferring out. Johnson certainly has ability and can start for most FBS schools - LSU has been a dumpster fire this year and Johnson has performed admirably given the circumstances around the program. I think Nussmeier is the future at the position for the Tigers - might as well let him finish out the season.

As always, thanks for the great recap! Looks like it was a solid week all around for our guys. Not a lot of huge games but a lot of really solid games for all the positions.

UAB TE Gerrit Prince has been really impressive this year. He’s a deep threat and a touchdown machine. 26-571-7 on the season, that’s 22 ypc for a 240 pound TE!

Just watched that highlight. Really great punt return! The black quarterback for UCLA has really hurt Phillips and Cota's careers (Cota's especially). It's a shame Chip Kelly has decided that he will continue down the black quarterback route (assuming he has a job after this season).

Rickey Pearsall suffers from the same issue at Arizona State.

Have to wonder how long Washington will stick with Jimmy Lake who was Chris Petersen's handpicked successor. He shoved a player last week on the sideline and has supposedly done it before.

It's a crime what has happened to Charlie Spegal. Think about it? Over 10,000 yards rushing in high school. Then well over 3000 yards in his senior year with
55 touchdowns and he wins the Mr. Indiana Football High School Player of the Year only to go to college and have to sit. Yes I do think sometimes our guys are
better off going to smaller schools that will play them. Why waste your prime years of life? Another option is to go to a bigger school that has been losing for a while
and is trying to rebuild. I really hope we see Spegal get a shot to play and possibly start very soon. Two years of sitting out already. What a damn shame!

Kyle Phillips has been the best punt returner in college football over the last few years in my opinion. He has 24 returns for 533 yards and 2 TD’s, that’s 22.2 yards per return over 4 years of being a punt returner! It’ll be interesting to see if Phillips declares for the draft or comes back, he has 2 years of eligibility remaining because he only played 4 games as a freshman and got an extra year because 2020 didn’t count.

At the very most I would say he should play one more year. Test the waters first. If there is enough interest go now. The one advantage of coming back is that maybe
he can have alot more receiving yards next season which would also up his draft stock dramatically. Of course that only works if the qb can get you the ball where you
can make the catches. I don't think he should play two more years of college ball. Too much wear and tear. Go now or one more and done.

You summed it up perfectly, I agree 100%. I feel like it could be 50/50 on what he decides to do.

100%

I completely understand the motivation to play at the best school in a good program. Athletes always back themselves but as we've seen over the years the cards are stacked against white RBs. Carson Steele was smart enough to recognize that Indiana didn't really respect his ability as a RB. If they did they would not be trying to talk him into a potential switch as a linebacker.

I hope Charlie Spegal gets a shot as well. Way too talented just to be riding the bench.
