Since 2007, San Jose State has started 6, 3, 6, 6, 6, 7, 10, 9 4, 7, 6, 8 and 10 white athletes. They are projected to start 8 in 2020.

Looking down the road this team should drop off quite a bit due to it's roster composition.

Well traveled QB Nick Starkel will finish up his collegiate career at SJSU. He is the projected starter. Big time arm - hopefully he develops good chemistry with Bailey Gaither who has a 6th year of eligibility. I found an interesting RB on the team - uber productive in his two years at the Community college level. He can easily be a starting RB in the MWC.

RB Hunter Nye:

COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Played two seasons at Monterey Peninsula College (Coach Mike Rasmussen)... Team's Most Valuable Player and first-team All-Golden Coast Conference with 1,000 yards-plus and 12 rushing touchdowns in each of his two seasons... 2018 California Community College Region II all-state selection... Second in the state in rushing yards per game in 2018 with his 137.5 yards per game average... Rushed 219 times for 1,375 yards and 12 touchdowns... Versatile running back also caught 34 passes for 313 yards and four scores... Gained 1,106 yards on 206 carries and caught 28 passes for 303 yards and two scores his freshman season... Was 11th in the state in rushing yards per game in 2017.

Players to look out for include OL Trevor Robbins, OG Jesse Chamberlain, WR Chance LaChapelle - converted from QB, WR/KR Vincent Corso, QB/Athlete Dominick Mazotti, RB Hunter Nye (Comm College Transfer) DT Christian Johnson

Offense:
QB - Nick Starkel
WR - Bailey Gaither
TE - Billy Humphreys
LT - Jack Snyder
LG - Tyler Ostrom
C - Kyle Hoppe

Defense:
DE Cade Hall
LB Kyle Harmon

Thanks Leonardfan. Some curiosities on this roster.

For the second straight year I don't believe any white wide receivers will get drafted. Let's not toast to that. That said in my mind two receivers fit into the wildcard category.
Bailey Gaither will need a big season stat wise but if he can get a foot in the door his speed workouts should make people sit up. The other wildcard is Bryce Nunnelly from UTC whose team is playing a whopping total of one game this season.

Shadowlight if you are a half-black qb from an fcs school playing in one game this year it’s being labeled as a “showcase” but for a white WR it’s just one last game before your college career ends. Hopefully Nunnelly gets some positive press during the draft process. I’ll add him to the list.

Starkel is taking advantage of the extra year of eligibility due to the "pandemic" and will return to SJSU. It will be interesting to see if Gaither follows suit - both of them together for a full season would make for some fun MWC games.
