Doesn't look good for Muse at DB

"There is some love out there for him as a cover linebacker. I could see him going late in the draft but his safety days are over." -- Director of scouting for NFC team

Al of the draft analysis seems to say the same stuff, that he will change positions
We all should've seen this coming! Hopefully he can blossom into just a freak athlete coverage linebacker who can go sideline to sideline.

And then racist pig comments by the “DB” experts.

Not watching the broadcast but it's easy to imagine what they are saying. He is another big fast safety the NFL supposedly covets but since he is white they want him to convert to LB.

They laughed and said “that ain’t right” and then the 2 black announcers chuckled to each other and one said “I ain’t gonna say it”

It was the same type of nonsense they did when Apke ran his 4.3 40. I wish they would let the white commentators say stuff about wonderlic scores when they come out.

Thanks for pointing it out. I remember when Steve Smith referred to Colin Jones as a unicorn during a pregame show. I've got no time for black bozos.

Well, hopefully, he runs a great second 40 as well to shut them up.
Let us know his second 40 time please?
Thanks

Yea these experts need to update their page. I barely watched him play but that speed is fast enough for corner so there's no way he should switch to olb. I'm gonna have to look at his highlight now. Now I'm excited because he could counter the fact that we lost Weddle to retirement

Notre Dame safety Jalen Elliot ran a 4.81 / the other ND Safety - Poly Alohi Gilman ran a 4.67 - Kelly really can't find any faster white DBs to recruit? Give me a break.

Iowa's black safety ran a 4.62 / Ohio St safety a 4.67 - not the 4.4 athletes that Herbie and Fowler would lead you to believe they are.

We're these the official times or hand held? Either way it's still plenty of speed for safety

@dwid - not sure - I believe they were the combine official times. That is what is showing up on NFL.com and twitter. for a 6'2 227 lb safety that is ridiculously fast.

Draft dweeb Lance Zierlein's overview:

Overview
Slow-footed safety with hybrid linebacker tendencies. Muse plays with tight, restricted movement that lacks necessary fluidity to handle coverage duties as an NFL safety and he'll likely be asked to slide into a full-time linebacker role. He already has linebacker size and his frame should be able to handle additional weight if needed. His field agility and short-area athleticism aren't anything special despite moving over from safety. Muse's ability to cover tight ends and handle four-phase special teams duties improve his chances of making the backend of a roster.

I believe the Safeties just ran, the CBs ran earlier today. My guess is Muse ran his 40s in the last 45 min - 1 hour.
OK. Thanks. I thought they all ran together. Well he just out ran a lot of CB's as well!!! There was some 4.6 CB's.
Can't wait to see his run!!

I have been following Muse's career closely ever since he was a freshman and discussing him here for four years. In fact I may have written about him more than any other college player during that four year period. This is a very personally satisfying moment and yes the first big time caste busting player in this draft.

4.41 is his official time. A total athletic stud and football experts like TwentyTwo and others here like me have really been excited about Muse starting at safety at such a great program like Clemson.

Beautiful folks. Just beautiful.

And one other thing. The guy has the best football face in the draft. Talk about rugged looking.

By the way S Tanner Muse, (who I don't think is playing in any post season all star game?) here is my thoughts. A superb athlete and people may not know this but he was debating whether to go the baseball route out of high school. All I want is for him to be drafted. Then we can worry about what happens next. I pray he gets invited to the NFL Combine. By the way I predict a 4.38-4.53 40 where I have a sense he will likely nail a 4.44 40 which at his size would be terrific

Anybody want to doubt the Shadow man? Ha I am so high right now I feel free to gloat.
