Since 2006 Florida has started 6, 6, 6, 3, 3, 3, 2, 2, 4, 6, 5, 1, 4 and 2 whites. They stay at 2 in 2020.

Trask is the only reason to even slightly pay attention to this team as tries to improve his draft stock.

Players to look out for are WR Trent Whittemore

Offense
QB - Kyle Trask
C - Brett Heggie

Defense
None

So Florida and Florida State combined are starting 2 Whiteys out of 44 starters. Apparently all those White kids who play high school football at a high level in Florida are completely disposable, count for nothing.

"Comparisons to Chris Doering," totally simplistic and purely race-based. That article cuts out for me because it's for subscribers only, but I could see enough where Doering is doing the usual White thing of denigrating his ability. Doering was a great college receiver but he did lack speed, which the NFL conveniently used to cause him to move from team to team on the fringes of the league, though of course there are plenty of successful NFL receivers who have average to below average straight line speed.

If Whittemore is very fast and athletic, the better obligatory race-based comparison to another Florida receiver would be to none other than Crissie Collinsworth, who had world class speed or close to it. Let's hope this kid somehow gets a fair shake.

We see blacks compared to elite whites all the time but never the inverse. Something for everyone to always keep an eye out for.

True Don! Doering was a Walk-on WR. Whittemore is on Full scholarship & was recruited as a Safety out of HS.

Whittemore makes leaping grab, records first TD in UF's home-opener

And that display of athleticism? It was hardly a surprise to those who have been closely following his ascension.

The son of Buchholz High football coach Mark Whittmore, and the younger brother of Troy University wide receiver Luke Whittemore, Trent’s athletic abilities aren't a secret around Alachua County.

It’s well-known he’s been able to dunk a basketball since he was a 13-year-old at Cornerstone Academy, and his talents on the hardwood have only improved in the time since he was a budding Gainesville-area prospect and a former Buchholz High standout

C Mac has been compared to Reggie Bus(t)h, but it's extremely rare. I do recall Henry's 2019 heroic playoff run compared to Riggins historic playoff runs in 82' and 83' less the Super Bowl loss.

Let's hope Trask keeps up his fast start. Perhaps he can enjoy a rise in terms of draft stock and get into the 1st round.
