Weenieworld manages to **** on Ehlinger after a 6 TD performance:
Texas senior QB Sam Ehlinger completed 30-of-53 passes for 287 yards, two touchdowns and two interception while rushing for 112 yards and four more scores in Saturday's 53-45 loss against Oklahoma in 4OT.
If this was Ehlinger’s last game against Oklahoma, he isn’t going to complain about it. Ehlinger (6'3/225) was sacked nine times in last year’s Red River Showdown. Today, he also dealt with an aggressive Oklahoma rush (five sacks). Dealt with it poorly even when upright, with spotty accuracy killing multiple Texas drives. Ehlinger did provide a much-needed bruising short-yardage rushing element that kept the Longhorns in the game, crucially important with Texas mitigating giving the ball to its mediocre RB corps as much as possible. Ehlinger bulldozed into the end zone four times. But in the end, his struggles throwing did in the Longhorns. We see him as no better than a Day 3 developmental flier-type prospect. Texas has a bye to get right. The Horns get back on the horse in two weeks against Baylor.
