Is this the first time there has been a black quarterback for Colorado St? That's the biggest issue with the caste system - retread caste coaches going to different programs and employing the same methods that led their former program to mediocrity.

Georgia Southern D -End Justin Ellis wrecking havoc! Nose Tackle Gavin Adcock also in there.
Alabama transfer LB Riley Cole one to watch for So.Alabama; JUCO transfer LB Quentin Wilfawn was playing earlier

Good to see the Mountain West playing again....too bad Pre Season MWC Defensive player of the Year Justin Rice(Fresno St) transferred to Arkansas State
Miami D-End transfer Matt Patchan now at Colorado State ; #11 Freshman Safety Henry Blackburn looks like he started; where is Quinn Brinnon? Are the Rams allowed to have two white Safeties in at the same time?

that was the first thing I went to look for after seeing the start of the game lol, but couldn’t find anything. I want to say they may have in the 70s time frame but can’t recall.

He’s had some “electrifying” runs that I’m sure the boosters will gawk over and some throws that would make Joe Webb blush that they’ll ignore

I didn't get the late game between Fresno State and Colorado State but a glance at the box score was interesting. Colorado State got beat 38-17 but a few of their white players had standout games. Junior TE T McBride had a 8-130-1 stat line. He was basically their only receiver of any note. I guess the starting QB just ran around most of the time. And I noticed he coughed up the ball too.

On defense safety Quinn Brinnon finished with 6 tackles and 1 TFL. Miami transfer DE Scott Patchen had a big game. He finished with 6 tackles, 1.5 sacks and 2.5 TFLs.

I have mentioned this before in passing but growing up I once knew a family member of HC Steve Addazio but I have never met Steve personally.. Comes from a very nice Italian family. When he was at BC he wasn't an over the top caste coach. Not a trailblazer for sure but I think he will be an improvement over the previous regime. A quick glance at his 2021 recruiting class shows some promise.

Tonight at 9:00 East Carolina will play on ESPN2. Hopefully their starting QB is back and their white wide receivers ( Snead and Proehl ) get going. It has been a very rocky start for them this season thus far. A big disappointment although Texas Tech probably takes the biggest disappointment crown so far.

Wyoming is also on a little later on FS1.

Yep, Texas Tech did a good job of hyping up what looked like a good team to root for. But our receivers have had it about as bad as possible so far, McLane Mannix hasn’t even played a snap I don’t think. I think it’s safe to say we can pretty much write off TTU this season and hope for better next year, huge disappointment. Obviously I’ll still be rooting hard as ever for them every game!

TD for Maryland RB Jake Funk in their game against Minnesota.

Two surprising notes from this game. The Gophers are starting true freshman LB Cody Lindenberg #45.

And Maryland junior LB Chance Campbell #44 had 15 tackles last week and just made a TFL splash play.

Jake Funk(love that name) has 5 carries for 41 yards. The kid is averaging over 8 yards per carry! Wow! Get him the ball more. This is only the 2nd time I've seen him play and he
is very elusive, fast and powerful.

Minnesota's showing tonight on defense should raise some questions as to how good Michigan really is.

Really hope that Funk makes it through this shortened season healthy and makes a solid impact. Would be great to see him get to 500 yards in an 8 game season.

Too bad he doesn't have more carries. The kid is electric and explosive. He has 9 rushes for 72 yards and a touchdown at the half. Hope Maryland can keep it close or they will have
to start throwing primarily. Funk looks like a guy that is NFL ready! I too hope he stays healthy and has an amazing season and proves the skeptics wrong! He reminds me of a poor
mans Zach Zenner for some reason.

Let's go Maryland!

Funk with huge run!

Yeah it was for 51 yards. Funk helps get them down there. Then on the one yard line they give it to the other running back and ge fumbles the ball away. Why didn't Funk get the carry? You really can't make this stuff up? Unbelieveable.

We just can't let whitey shine too much. People just might wake up. Jake Funk is up to 12 carries for 130 yards mid 3rd quarter. It's a shame they are down by 2 tds as he would have had a chance at a 200 yard game.

You never know he may end up breaking another big run! His career has been derailed by ACL injuries. It's amazing he is back out there and looking as explosive as he does.

Nice catch Blake Proehl. Obligatory comments from the announcers...“like father like son, reliable possession receiver.” I remember Ricky Proehl as a big play guy who played in 3 Super Bowls, catching 8 for 153 (19.1 ypc) and 2 TDs; almost 9000 career yards and 54 TDs regular season. Possession receiver, my ass.

I heard that Proehl comment. Along with Funk's huge game I don't know how many tackles Campbell has but I wouldn't be shocked if it is approaching 20 tackle territory. Seriously impressive plays by him.

Look at Jake Funks High School Stats. He scored a touchdown 1 time out of every 5 times he touched the ball yet was only ranked a 3 star recruit. Oh I forgot he is white! What a joke.

At Damascus High School: 2015 Gatorade Maryland Player of the Year … Washington Post All-Metro Offensive Player of the Year … co-winner of the 2016 Herman Boone High School Player of the Year award ... a two-time consensus all-state selection … rushed for 2,866 yards and a Maryland record 52 touchdowns on 249 carries … led Damascus to an perfect 14-0 season as a senior, capturing the Maryland 3A State Championship … scored a record seven touchdowns in the state championship win over Dundalk, in addition to gaining 270 yards on the ground … rated a 3-star prospect by 247sports.com and Scout … coached by Eric Wallich.

And they can’t play the “small school” or “no exposure” card because #1 2020 recruit Bryan Bresee came from the same school.
