TwentyTwo has done such a good job with Clemson in the past no one wanted to follow in his footsteps. Looks like it's yours. Ha.

Speaking of writing up teams from the previous year I will repeat teams I did last year including Tennessee, Alabama, Auburn and Texas A & M. Shouldn't take long and that is not a good thing. Tennessee should be up in a flash.

We are making good progress! SEC does not start for another couple of weeks. Focusing on teams that start up this week should be our goal.

I was going to do Ga Tech but the idiot head coach does not list an actual depth chart - he lists an "above the line" which means the players who appear may all get a chance to play. By looking at some of the names they are nothing to get excited about. I bit the bullet and did Miami and Free Shoes. Someone else needs to do Ga Tech and Louisville ;)

I hope we see Martell get action. I actually think he’ll end up in the nfl no matter how terrible is college career is just based on hype. Maybe taysom hill lite role if he can’t be a real QB which doesn’t seem to be the case

Taking one for the team. I will do Louisville and it will be the first time I will write up a team I don't want to do. It's in the bag but will post it a little later. I'll add Virginia Tech too. Some other unlucky bastard can take on Georgia Tech ha.

Man alive more than a few of these ACC teams are brutal. Miami, Florida State, Pitt, Syracuse, Louisville and GT give whole new meaning to that term Murderers Row, a one time affectionate term describing the great Yankees line up of yore.

Thanks! Yea the acc is basically SEC-lite. The drop off over the past 5 or 6 years on many of the teams is telling. I’d say that these write ups provide pretty good evidence of systemic bias towards white athletes by recruiters, recruiting sites and college coaches. At this point it will take a class action lawsuit by several white athletes to make any changes in the caste system. I feel it will come at some point just as we have seen lawsuits against affirmative action. Whites just need to be made aware that sports are in fact not a meritocracy.

I think I have had my head in the sand for too long lately. Closely following the latest recruiting news I have developed a false sense of confidence that things are improving overall. But by sifting through a lot of rosters and depth charts I can't but help notice an unmistakable pattern. We know about the caste look. But what is striking about many teams is that you will see white wide receivers and defensive backs along with other "skill position" players listed but the vast majority are either walk on scrubs or recruits who haven't moved up the depth chart. They never play. The kicker/punter duo are usually white as expected.

But it appears things may be getting worse? Even if not the trends are not showing any white advancement of any substance. Perhaps once we get a look at the Big Ten things should balance out a bit but wow the stacks of blacks on these rosters is very noticeable. And again I underestimated how much they command the skill positions.

No wonder black athletic supremacist theorists walk around with a constant woody. It is hard ( no pun intended) to counteract their caste world view when the evidence on these rosters is so stacked overwhelmingly against smashing their world view. The argument that doors are closed on white recruits is valid but it carries little or no weight with the likes of Sailer who maintain the best rise to the top. CF has presented reams of carefully nuanced evidence over the years to contradict that notion but it lands on deaf ears for those who feel whites are simply not as good as the blacks.

I am not totally naïve. I obviously know all about the strict caste structure on football rosters. But I am still surprised by the magnitude of it these days.

SMU game was highest rated game and did huge numbers. Millions of casual fans got to see white players like McDaniel dominate.

Big Ten may be coming back in October. SEC starts in a couple of weeks. Still have plenty of teams that need write ups. Volunteers are welcome to assist.

I know I am not writing previews sequentially and still have East Carolina to write up. But to celebrate the return of the Big Ten I have been working on the three teams I did last year Michigan, Penn State and Ohio State. I don't think too many are lining up to do those schools anyway?

Can't conceive that others won't write up the other Big Ten schools though. Although if in a real bind I will do Rutgers if no one else claims them. Not exactly chomping at the bit but will do it to support the team if necessary.

I know there are more SEC teams to do but I have pretty much filled my quota on them covering the four teams I did last year. None of the other SEC teams grab me much apart from a player or two.

Just finishing up prep work for two more teams which will bring my total to fifteen. Sounds like a nice number to stop on. Hopefully other members step up and fill in the blanks that Leonardfan leaves open. He has been doing a lot of the dirty work. It only takes abut a half hour or less to prep a team and another 10- 15 minutes to post the info. It has been a little more painstaking for me this year because I don't have the trusty Phil Steele magazine to rely on.

Hope to have up today Utah ( looks like the Pac -12 are going to play as soon as October) and Nebraska.

Late Edit: I'll make it a sweet sixteen for me and write up Ole Miss too.

Thanks @Shadowlight !

It really is not a hard process at all. There are unclaimed teams that have already played and have depth charts available. Just bring up a tab on your web browser with a roster and the other tab with the depth chart - sort the roster by name , position or hit ctrl+f to bring up the find function and type in the player name.

I do grow a little frustrated because I see the write ups all get a lot of views in a pretty short time frame which tells me there are lurkers who check them out or forum members who are interested and look them over. However it’s only been the same core group of forum members that are putting the effort in to do the write ups. This is a forum so member participation is required to keep the site alive and vital with posts and contributions. Those of us who actually do the write ups are providing free content and analysis for the site. I think I can speak for everyone who does write ups - we feel it’s a bit of a thankless task at this point because the lack of feedback or new volunteers to assist us.

Maybe member jacque can write up some more Pac-12 teams? He took the initiative and wrote up Washington and did a swell job so it seems to me he would be a natural to do at least a few more? He is an enthusiastic knowledgeable newer member and has stepped up his participation of late. Thought I would throw that out there.

Go for it! You can also wait until they officially declare a fall season because I know that is still up in the air.

I have added the Pac 12 due to the speculation they will have a shortened season starting in October. It sounds like the MWC and MAC might also do an abbreviated season starting in October.

As always looking for volunteers to help with the write-ups.

Sorry I have been busy lately and slacking. I’m down to do some more write ups but I don’t care who. If you put me down for 3-4 teams I’ll do them, doesn’t matter who!

You have not been slacking at all my friend. I'll throw some teams your way. Ideally I would like to get the SEC done this week since they start up. Just gave you four teams. Thanks!

Looks like UMASS is now jumping back in after going high and mighty with cancelling the season due to the "pandemic."

UMass announced it will opt back in for the fall season.
UMass is a FBS Independent school, so their return announcement comes without any immediate opponents on their schedule. Reading the tea leaves it appears UMass is shooting for a late-October return.. The Minutemen had originally pledged to postpone their season until the spring. However once the MAC and MWC announced they were considering a fall season, UMass likely realized they needed to make a move quickly so they can try to cobble together as many G5 opponents as they can schedule. Much like everyone else, UMass is facing a severe budget shortfall that would be helped greatly by the football related revenue.

Temple, FIU and UGA are all still available. I believe they will all play their first games of the season this week. If anyone wants to volunteer I'd rather these three teams get done before focusing any further on the Big Ten (since their season is a month away from starting) or the PAC 12 since right now there is no official word on their season starting up.
