2019 Track Season News and Results

Adam Thomas is someone we haven't mentioned.
He is a Brit, who has the #4 European 60m time thus far this year, 6.67.
Tortu, Kranz, and Volko are #1, #2,and #3.
Thomas' best 100m time is 10.23 from 2017.
 
These results just in from Berlin:
. . . 3 Filippo Tortu (ita) 6.59; 4 Kevin Kranz 6.61 (6.60 2h2); 5 Zdenek Stromsik (cze) 6.68 (6.67 3h2);

Kranz staying close to Tortu, and Tortu under 6.60. Both are good signs.

So talented not to mention drop dead gorgous. I really hope she can stay healthy this year as Marybeth Sant was born to run track. What a talent!
 
Swoboda takes Schippers in the 60m final with a 7.10, her prelims were a 7.09. Schippers looked a bit rusty but good season opener for her. Swoboda is too tatted up and almost looks like she is a goth head but she can fly.
 
You beat me to it bro. Swoboda actually ran 7.08 in the prelims and won the finals in a time of 7.10! She was flying down the track. She has always been a great starter but these times
are what she will need this summer to try and get her first sub 11. As you said Schippers took 2nd in finals in a time of 7.19! Not bad but indoors is not as important this year as the
world athletics championships isn't until september. It's going to be a very long year and we don't want our athletes to burn out.

I thought it was odd that they didn't have a mens 60 meters race in this meet in Karlsrue, Germany.
 
Another young European sprinter to make note of is Joris Van Gool of Holland.
He is 20 yrs old, and won a major meet in France this weekend running 6.67 for 60m.
Devin Quinn won an invitational meet in Nebraska running 6.64 in the heats.
I also noted that Shane Crawford is still running, winning an indoor meet in Indiana.
 
Samuel Purola, the young (18 now) Finnish sprinter ran 6.67 in Sweden this weekend.
Henrick Larsson (19), close behind in 6.70.

Meanwhile, Richard Kilty is still at it, this from a Polish meet:
3 Remigiusz Olzewski 6.64; 4 Richard Kilty (gbr) 6.64; 5 Jan Volko (svk) 6.66;
 
at the same meet in Poland, Swoboda continues her success winning the women's 60m in 7.13, Krystina Tsimanouskaya 7.26 for third.
 
today in Poland Swoboda beat Ta lou over the 60m with a time of 7.15 to 7.16. Even though she has been sick with bad cold and headaches she beat 1 of the very few black sprinters whom I think is legit. Well done Ewa.

In the women's 60mH 2 women Dutkiewicz Germany and Hurske Finland went sub 8-7.95/7.98.

Gotta say I love watching Laura Muir run, she is tough as nails.

for all the naysayers(blacks) out there accusing Daphne of juicing cuz of her square jaw, here is a picture of her as a baby from her website. I see a square jaw already. :)

Jan Volko 6.58 for 2nd place in Madrid!
On the women's side, Swoboda with another victory, 7.11.
Schippers 2nd in 7.18.
I believe Swoboda is undefeated this season at 60m.

You beat me to it brother. I watched the race live on youtube probably like yourself and was in awe that he caught Trae Williams. Hale had the worst start of his young life in my opinion but as you said
proceeded to walk down Williams. Hale has a top end speed that very few can match. If he can ever nail his starts consistantly then we are looking at sub 10.10 times and times approaching 10.00 flat.
Hale is only 21 years of age while Williams is 22. Great to see these two youngsters in an epic battle back & forth race after race. Now we just need the 3rd sprinter who's name escapes me at the moment.
 
Rohan Browning matches these two. Same young age too. A fit Joshua Clarke too, but he gets injured every time he nears a peak
 
Cool! Hey, speaking of Southern Hemisphere talent, anyone know that the South Africans are up to? Emile Erasmus was on the verge last year (10.01). We usually get one to two guys a year threatening on a world level, but this year is a potential multiple athlete breakthrough.
 
Adam Thomas finished a 2nd at the british indoor champs in the 60 meters. The finals had 4 white sprinters in it which you would never see in the U.S.

I really believe that Thomas can become an elite sprinter in time. He lowered his p.b. down to 6.63 in the semi finals. I see some new personal bests outdoors this summer.
 
I just mentioned Joris Van Gool a last week, and it looks like he's one to keep an eye on.
Here is his latest result:
60m 1 Tayuka Kawakami (jpn) 6.64; 2 Joris van Gool (ned) 6.65
 
John Teeters won the Millrose Games 60m in 6.56.
Devon Allen won the men's hurdles.
Mary Beth Sant was fifth in the women's 60m, in 7.23.

You forgot to mention that Dominic Ashwell won this race! He is only 19 yrs old! His time was 6.64.
There were 5 whites in this race. We have to find the video.
