Since 2005 Rutgers has started 6, 5, 8, 9, 11, 8, 4, 5, 4, 8, 6, 6, 3 and 5 whites. They are projected to start 5 white athletes in 2019.
Rutgers was terrible last year (1-11) - they somehow manage to get affletes drafted every year for some odd reason. Artur Sitkowski was a big time recruiting win but struggled mightily on the field as a true freshman. Texas Tech transfer McClane Carter might end up getting some snaps and could end up taking the posiiton over. TE Travis Vokolek transferred to Nebraska.
Players to watch include TE Matt Alaimo, WR Hunter Hayek (possible 3rd/4th WR), WR Tyler Hayek, WR Cole Murphy, DL Brednan Bordner, DL Robin Jutwreten
They also have an RB Parker Day - looks to have had a very good high school career. Perhaps he will get some carries this year. From his bio:
Prior to Rutgers: Played for Dave Oizerowitz at Toms River North … helped Mariners to an 11-1 record and an appearance in the NJSIAA Group 5 South championship game … ran for 102 yards and a score in the title game … finished senior season with 145 carries for 1,412 yards and 23 touchdowns, averaging 9.7 yards per carry … had eight games with 100 or more rushing yards in 2016 … Second Team All-Shore Conference by the Star-Ledger and the Asbury Park Press.
Offense
QB - Artur Sitkowski or McClane Carter
LG - Zach Venesky
C - Michael Maietti
RG - Nick Krimin
Defense
DE Mike Tverdov
