Since 2006 Oklahoma has started 3, 5, 6, 7, 5, 6, 4, 3, 3, 3, 5, 4, and 3 white players. Expect that number to be 2 or 3 this year.

As usual, nothing to see here.

Calcaterra is a stud playing as a big slot receiver, and Creed Humphrey was impressive last season at center.

Erik Swenson has not won the starting left tackle job yet but he very well could be the guy.

A couple backup LB’s could be thrust into starting roles if injuries happen to the guys in front of them.

OFFENSE
TE/SLOT Grant Calcaterra
*LT Erik Swenson
C Creed Humphrey

DEFENSE
none

Players to watch
QB Tanner Mordecai, WR Drake Stoops, OL Clayton Woods, LB Bryan Mead, LB Levi Draper

Thanks Red raider.

I wrote up the Sooners last season and little has changed. Certainly TE Calcaterra is a terrific athlete with huge potential. And if those back up LBs mentioned above can get on the field perhaps this team will be slightly better to watch than last season.

Still though Oklahoma has been fielding teams with the racial make up of teams like Florida State. Which is not a good thing.

Lincoln Riley is a cuck in the stoops mold for sure. After his Alabama black quarterback he recruited a mixed qb funnier looking than Mahomes.

This competition is going to be in name only. Riley comes off as a new age cuck HC. He has his ******* man and will gift him the starting job. It was great seeing Burrow absolutely eviscerate the Sooners joke of a defense last night. Anyways when I come across news like this I am doing my best to put it in the team write up thread so it can be referenced during the write ups for 2020. And once again Weenieworld has it wrong as it was the ******* Rattler who came off the bench not Mordecai.

Oklahoma HC Lincoln Riley said the QB competition between freshman Spencer Rattler and redshirt freshman Tanner Mordecai is open regardless of who came off the bench in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl against LSU.

Of the two, it was Mordecai who came off the bench to get some reps against LSU when the game was well out of reach. Mordecai has been the one to receive most of the other backup/clean-up reps this season, so it's no surprise he got them again in this game. As Riley suggests, though, Mordecai playing in the Peach Bowl is no certainty he will win the job next year. Rattler was a five-star recruit in 2019 and may be able to take a massive leap with another full offseason under his belt. It's also entirely possible the Sooners aim for another transfer QB.
