Matt Jones > Fitzgerald, but Nick is a raw diamond, if Braxton Miller and T. Pryor can play in receiving positions, he has his chance too.

Flynn Nagel is a WR for Northwestern. In six games this season he already has 48 receptions. From what I saw he plays mainly on the outside. He's listed at 5-11 195 though he looks shorter to me.

I think Nagel is a pro prospect. He's quick and runs good routes. I know it's a cliche to compare every white receiver to Wes Welker and project them to the slot but this guy reminds me of Wes Welker and I think his best position would be as a slot receiver. He's stocky like Welker. He could also be tried as a punt returner.

A WR needy team looking for a slot receiver would do well to draft Flynn Nagel. I think he should go anywhere in the second half of the draft.

Here's a quote from a post by Shadowlight from another thread. It pertains to the 2019 Draft.

"Below is a list of WRs, in no particular order, who deserve to get a Combine invite and get drafted. Beggars wishes but I think all of them are more than deserving albeit Cody Thompson's numbers have taken a dramatic downturn. For now I am leaving out small school Neil O'Connor because I am not familiar with him but that could change over time. Why there is no buzz on Scott Miller is more than a mystery.

Jesper Horsted

David Sills

Cody Thompson

Andy Isabella

Scott Miller

Hunter Renfrow

Trent Irwin

Flynn Nagel

Chris Finke"

I looked at some mock drafts for 2019. QB Justin Herbert of Oregon seems to be the consensus top quarterback and the consensus number one pick at this point.

Just came across an article on PFF that spoke highly of Gustin as USC tries to replace him. A nice little graphic that shows how disruptive he has been over the course of his career (hopefully injuries don't follow him to the NFL)

The 2019 QB class is officially under fire. Rumors are that Herbert will stat at Oregon for his senior year. It sounds like Darnold all over again - I did not expect him to declare. I will say that some of our guys have been disappointments but I do see at least 2 quality white QBs who should be first rounders - Will Grier and Drew Lock.

I feel Drew Lock is a Goff type prospect - comes from a wide open system but plays on an overmatched team which causes issues. Physically and ability wise he can play at the next level though. I don't think he will be as highly regarded as Goff was but should still be a first round pick.

Grier is a bit of a gamer - he played well as a Freshman at Florida and has only continued to do so at WVU playing in what is essentially the modern NFL style offense.

I watched Ryan Finley enough vs. Boston College and Clemson to realize his arm strength is a little worrisome. I think that he is a 3rd/4th rounder at this point - quality back up type.

Clayton Thorson has really been an up and down guy for me this year - I liked him alot as a prospect but he was not all the way back from his knee injury until a few games ago. Since then he has been pretty impressive in getting Northwestern to 4-3 on the year. He does remind me some of Carson Wentz in terms of how he plays, body stature and throwing motion. I really want to see him finish the season out on a high note to improve his draft stock.

Lock, Grier, Finley and Thorson should all get Senior Bowl invites so they have alot of time to improve their draft stock.

Pretty accurate breakdown of QB position if you ask me LF! Including athletic QBs like Fitzgerald and McSorley to the mix adds excitement to the position.

What's your opinion on North Dakota St. QB Easton Stick? I've watched him play a few times and was impressed. Not sure if he'll have a Jimmy G or Wentz type rise come draft time, but he should be in 5th-7th rd potential at very least.

I don't think Fitzgerald or McSorley are going to be looked at as NFL QBs. They could both be used like Taysom Hill for sure or convert positions. Fitzgerald will probably be typecast as a TE/H-back rather than given a shot at WR and McSorley will get dinged by the "too small" and not enough arm strength question marks which I actually have to agree with. As an athlete though he could be a WR/RB/DB type player if actually given a chance. I can only hope for the best as Matt Jones was royally screwed over by the league despite being a one of the most dynamic athletes to ever play.

Ya it will be interesting to see where they end up. Combine invites are crucial for both. Sub 4.6 40s even better for their cause. I don't mind the talk of position change either, adds some star power to our skill position ranks.

First bit of good surprise news I have seen about the 2019 NFL draft. He is a few days late as I already brought up Burr-Kirven as a potential safety when I shot a tweet to refute Brock Huard and his non-sensical caste tweet about Ben Burr-Kirven.

CBS Sports draft writer Chris Trapasso lists Washington senior LB Ben Burr-Kirven 18th on his latest draft board.

What a jump Burr-Kirven has made in 2018. The production has been sensational, with 108 tackles already; 15 of those picked up last Saturday in the 27-13 victory over Colorado. He also has recorded a 29 percent run-stop rate, and an impressive 41.7 rating in coverage. "Burr-Kirven has emerged as the premier "big nickel" prospect in the country," writes Trapasso. "Listed at 6-0 and 222 pounds, the Washington linebacker has safety size, safety coverage skills and is seemingly always around the football."

His initial tweet:

"Ben Burr Kirven is one of my favorite players in all of CFB. There is not another player that reaches his absolute ceiling play in, play out and game in, game out more than Ben. He will be missed more than any Husky Petersen has coached in SEA. Quality win over COL today too"

Someone asked him what he thought about Burr-Kirven as a starter next level and Huard gave the same answer given for any white college player:

"No Maybe a special teamer. Different game at next level"

I replied with: Plenty of undersized LB/S hybrids at the next level - Mathieu, Baker, Bucannon all come to mind.

and no response of course :)

Huard is as reliably bad as any announcer/analyst I'm familiar with.

Just a glimpse of what is wrong with the NFL draft process and the supposed experts and analysts who hype up undeserving players due to their skin color. A player is an interesting prospect because he has not been productive. He is a junior and does not even have 400 yards receiving in his career as a four star recruit (how many of those 4/5 star recruits amount to nothing):

Draft Analyst's Tony Pauline gives Clemson junior WR Diondre Overton a fourth or fifth-round grade.

Overton (6'4/210) could return for his senior season, but Pauline believes he would be a Day 3 pick if he declares after his junior season. The former four-star is an interesting prospect because he hasn't been productive for the Tigers this season. Overton has caught two passes in each of the five games he's participated in, and he only has 67 yards. If Overton declares, he better be ready to test really well at the combine.

A lot of these analysts and scouts engage in scouting by race and drafting by race. The race of a prospect is made part of their evaluation just like a prospect's speed, strength, etc.

Another underclassmen to watch is Alabama OT Jonah Williams - he is getting high first round buzz if he declares. The weekly narrative is the attack on the 2019 QB class. Will Grier is getting next to no respect - if the Saints did not bring in Sewerwater Grier would of been a great fit as Brees heir apparent.

Duke QB Daniel Jones is a rising QB name as well. He is also an underclassman.

On a side note - it looks like draftdaddy is finally dead. No updates since July 13th. Sad end for probably the best draft site out there since I started following in 2004.

Too bad, that was an excellent source of fair information and a CF favorite. It was obvious "reading between the lines" that they were well aware that the scouting and recruiting process and the NFL draft were stacked against White players at various positions, though they did eventually back off from that line of innuendo. Maybe they got some complaints from the usual gatekeepers that CF was citing them favorably.

Sad to hear. Walter Football is usually fairly accurate in their draft rankings, that's where I check up on prospects.

i actually corresponded with the main author on several occasions, and he was certainly aware of the stigma against White athletes ... though he certainly trod VERY carefully when couching his language on the topic.

I corresponded with one of the owners of the site as well and can confirm that. He acknowledged it in a round about way with me but knew the score for sure.

I dislike walterfootball for a myriad of reasons. There are other better sites with better content.

The Draft Network is a newer site that has alot of content on it. It is mostly caste but has a good database of draft eligible players.

NFLDRAFTSCOUT is another decent site that churns out fairly regular content.

CBSSPORTS moved on from Dane Brugler and Rob Rang (both caste clowns...Rang is now on NFLDRAFTSCOUT). Brugler has moved to a pay for content site. So far the new draft guy at CBS (Chris Trapasso) has been ok - he was the first "analyst" to give Ben Burr-Kirven first round recognition.

It does seem that many of the original draft sites/forums are dying or on life support - NFLDRAFTCOUNTDOWN is essentially dead. It looks like alot of the "experts" go to twitter now to espouse their instant analysis to their lemming fans. NFL.com's draft content has not been as updated as it was previously - they seem to be scaling back some.

The new guy running the senior bowl is someone I am wary of just due to his NFL connections - he came from the Seahawks.

What don't you like about it just curious? And I'm aware of The Draft Network they have a good amount of positive scouting reports on white prospects, but their rankings are a little caste.
