I can’t remember a time this team didn’t have a white receiver starting, I love it!

Sterling Weatherford is a new name to me, 6’4” 220lbs he will be a presence on the field! And I really like Bart Baratti, especially since he’s a Texas kid.

Now they need to have a successful season to prove what a White-heavy roster can do. Need to watch this team closely.

Thanks Leonardfan.

Do they win the "have the most starting white players on offense" award this year? Always comforting to see a team start two white wide receivers.

Safety Sterling Weatherford will be a player to watch out for after next year.

Anthony Treash of Pro Football Focus lists Miami (OH) redshirt junior as the most valuable member of the RedHawks returning for the 2020 season.

Weatherford was all over the field for the RedHawks in 2019; finishing with 98 tackles -- 5.5 of those for loss -- and breaking up 10 passes with one interception in his 14 games. The 6-foot-4, 218-pound safety was rated the 13th-most valuable in the country, according to PFF. "In his two career seasons, Weatherford has been responsible for only 180 yards allowed in coverage (keep in mind, he’s played 633 coverage snaps)," Treash writes. "He’s actually made more plays on the ball (12) than first downs allowed (nine)." That'll get the job done.

Excellent to see Weatherford get some positive press and buzz going. We've discussed him quite a bit in the 2019DB Thread as well and deservedly so. Definitely a guy we should throw our support behind for his 2020 Campaign.

They ended up 8-6 last season. It seems as if HC Chuck Martin is a fair and decent coach. He's steadily improved them since taking over in 2014.

Was also nice to see Brett Gabbert grab control of the starting job as a Freshman. Experienced some growing pains but still passed for 2,400yds w 11TD/8INT ratio. Also added 70yds on the ground and 3rushing TDs. 6ft 205lbs I'd expect him to take a step forward as a Sophomore.

*Looks like DE Andrew Sharp played quite a bit. 6'4 270, 35tackles and 4.5 sacks as a Redshirt Soph. Another MAC DL to keep an eye on.
