I don’t have many DL to post but I can’t forget my guy Eli Howard for Texas Tech!

Eli Howard (JR) 6’4” 270lbs Texas Tech
2 year starter had a solid 2017 season but took a step back in 2018. Career stats include 61 tackles, 11 for loss, 7 sacks, 5 pass deflections, 2 FF, 1 FR. He has been in college since 2015 but was granted 2 years of extra eligibility so he is only considered a redshirt junior this year. Teammate Quentin Yontz is also expected to be a starter/big contributor this year after redshirting his senior year last year in order to have a bigger impact this year.

Tevin Paul (JR) 6’4” 270lbs Cal
Another player from Texas with the same size as Howard. Paul was a more productive player in 2018, his first as a starter, with 44 tackles, 11 TFL, 2 sacks, and 3 pass deflections.

Roe Wilkins (Grad) 6’3” 260lbs Arizona State
Wilkins is a grad transfer from Rice where he was a starter for 2 1/2 years. He put up some decent stats in his 3 years with 102 tackles, 15 for loss, 8.5 sacks, and 2 forced fumbles. He played as an undersized DT, not sure if he will remain there or shift to DE at ASU.

Some week 2 accolades from Profootballfocus for our guys on the d-line:

Garrett Marino, UAB
Marino finished the afternoon with a whopping three sacks and nine total pressures for the Blazers. He needed 36 pass-rushes to accomplish such a feat, winning the majority of his pass-rush snaps in the process.

Robert Windsor, Penn State
Leading the way on defense for Penn State’s front-four, Windsor’s all-around performance was terrific as he registered three pressures, four defensive stops and six total tackles without a missed attempt.

Aidan Hutchinson, Michigan
Hutchinson’s sack in overtime ultimately won the game for the Wolverines against Army but he had a strong overall game all four-plus quarters. He finishes with eight total tackles, three defensive stops and not a single missed tackle.

James Lynch, the talented defensive tackle from Baylor, had a MONSTER game today against Kansas State: 3 sacks among his 4 tackles-for-loss and a forced fumble before finishing the contest with total 5 tackles.
