Gut-wrenching defeat for the Islanders after playing a strong game they needed to win. They won't give up but it will be very tough to come back now against a powerhouse Tampa team.

Fantastic game for the NYISLANDERS , get the empty net to seal it 5-3. Now we have a series. Plus Dallas/Vegas should be down to the wire. The NHL is most entertaining sport come playoff time.

I agree, nothing tops the Stanley Cup playoffs, even in empty arenas, glad to see the Islanders get it done in what was pretty much a must-win game.

The NHL has done a good job with the fake crowd noise, not overly loud and the reaction time to plays that would be cheered by actual fans is very close to instantaneous.

Congrats as your fellow countryman shot the gamewinner in OT. I was a huge fan of Russian Val Nichuskin his rookie season, he looked like a future superstar.

No diversity coming from the western conference. Unless you count Tyler Seguin’s bro’d out cuck factor as equal to the “ one drop rule”. Also they fired their coach earlier this year for the dreaded racism. Still its better than Reaves.

This game was not for anyone with high blood pressure. Wow what a game. Way to go Islanders. I just have a gut feeling that this is their time to shine! :)

Tampa wins Game 6 in OT and will play Dallas for the Stanley Cup. I give a ton of credit to the true professionals on most of the playoff teams who gave it their all under very difficult circumstances.

Tampa has to be considered the favorite but we'll see. They just have the look of a champion, especially after they overcame Columbus's seeming hex over them in the first round, and they have done it without their oft-injured captain Steven Stamkos. Their huge Swedish defenseman Victor Hedman is a beast, I expect the Lightning to prevail and win their second Cup.

Sad that I missed the Tampa game Thursday.
Game one of the Stanley Cup looks tight so far tied 1-1 at the end of the First. Should be 0-0. Zach Bogosian made a stupid play going after the body checker on Point, totally abandoned the play and Dallas scores. Bogosian is the first Armenian heritage player in the NHL. His Dad played ncaa football at Syracuse.
Tampa then gets a lucky break with a goal off of two skates.
