Gordon Hayward signed a huge deal with the Charlotte Hornets. He will be on an island all by himself. Far worse than if he would stayed with the Celtics. Then on top of that the Hornets have been so horrible year after year.

Denver wanted Hayward. Was hoping he could have went there. Sometimes our guys make horrible decisions. Think about your surroundings and not just the money. Hayward will not like it in Charlotte in my opinion.

I thought it puzzling that he signed there as well. Idk sick of Boston and the weather? Sick of his college coach?

One positive, he will be the man in Charlotte. Shouldn't have to worry about him getting his looks scoring.

Noel has been a bust. Didn't realize he was struggling so much since entering the league. Another sure fire pick we were assured at the time.

The Hayward signing kind of reminds me when a Eric Decker went to the Jets when Geno Smith was QB. The Bobcats / Hornets franchise has been nothing short of awful since they entered the league under the “leadership” of Bob Johnson and Michael Jordan

I would have to thought he would have had similar offers from other teams and have a desire to join a contender, but at least he’s getting paid

Just saw on the bottom of the screen that Nerlens Noel signed a 1 year deal with the Knicks. That name vaguely rung a bell so I looked him up. He is a former 5 star college recruit who played one year for at Kentucky and was not dominant at all. He ends up being the 6th overall pick (he tore his ACL during the season prior to the draft). After being drafted 6th overall in 2013 he is now on his 4th team. His career stats are pedestrian and he has only averaged double digit points once - 11.1

Career numbers are:
8.0 PPG
1.4 BPG
1.3 SPG
1.2 APG
6.2 RPG

Can anyone else say MASSIVE bust? The funny thing is the media refuses to be overly critical of black busts - must be because they are a dime a dozen and don't fit in with the narrative.

If I recall that was when the sham “one and done” movement was really just starting to take off. If you came out of high school anointed by ESPN as a lottery pick and high on the draft boards, had a pulse, and went to UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, or Duke (who were a few years late to the schtick) you were guaranteed to still be a lottery pick regardless of how you played in your one year. Nerlens Noel was probably one of the more egregious examples, along with Andrew Wiggins, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, etc

Painful to think about, even now!
