Great thread.

I've been checking out some of the highlights videos, scouting reports, and college production stats of some of the black WRs and LBs who were taken in the first few rounds this year, and it's more unimpressive than ever. Most of them have some "athleticism" going for them and not much else. Many have weak football sense, another area where Whites dominate, which is why so many eventually fade out of the league after receiving copious opportunities. A nice 40 time doesn't mean anything if a linebacker is slow analyzing plays. The Caste System is relying on a black talent pool that diminishes each year, but like everything else presented or endorsed by the media, the agenda keeps intensifying relentlessly and brooks no opposition.

Thanks CelticDB...nice LBer thread too! Will be sure to add to it

Thanks Don...it's always interesting to get your observations that the Caste-pool of talent is dwindling..bec it's slim pickings in the HS Recruiting Srvices....the cookie-cutter stereotypes get old...raw; explosive; upside can also be included for white athletes as well...Riley Stapleton (who was also a good basketball player) is just one example

Thanks Dolphins15...nice additions ....it was getting too late last night & did this in a hurry....was going to add most of them on next post.....those players were Regulars on the Weekly Stats threads... glad you mentioned what Andy Isabella did to Miss.State of the SEC..probably should have listed him ahead of a few of the WR's posted

It would be cool to have a round-table dicussion in person w many of you knowledgeable posters

WHO will be the Next WR to emerge/pop up out of nowhere??

Thomas Hennigan (Soph.) 6'-2" 210 Appalachian State ...impressive as a Freshman last season...45-585 yards & 7 TD's...will have a new QB; Taylor Lamb graduated
Hennigan.jpg

Tony Ellison
(Sr.) 5'-11" 188 Arizona..... 33 rec for 496 yards & 3 TD's + in Bowl game vs. Purdue had 2 TD's on 4 receptions for 102 yards/ 36 yards rushing on 3 carries & TD ...plays with a Run 1st QB
Tony+Ellison+Arizona+v+USC+Q7YDClw0Axhl.jpg

*Tommy Stevens (Sr.) 6'-5" 232 .. Penn State (Sleeper Project) he is a QB/ Trace McSorley's Back up.(had 4 rushing TD's from the Wildcat & RB?)...in limited time played WR toward end of season & caught 2 TD's . He decided not to Transfer...would like to see him play WR Full time where he could thrive!

Continued thanks Dolphins15..... Weekly Stats last year for the FCS; Gueller was a name that came up from time to time w Watson; Weineke; Horsted etc; intriguing prospect!

Kyle Sweet is versatile !

Mike Dudek (Sr.) 5'-11" 185 Illinois .... burst on the scene as a Record Breaking Freshman (76 rec / 1,038 yards & 6 TD's) & 6 carries/73 yards back in 2014' ...then Injuries have derailed his career / 2 ACL's on same knee
Finally played again last season(*Jr.) had 24 catches for 262 yds & TD(missed 5 games).....Hoping he can bounce back & have a strong Senior season!

Brad Stewart (SR) 6'1" 197 Georgia Tech. He has caught 30 balls for 574 yards and 1 TD in his career. He doesn't play in a great passing offense and his QB is awful.

Whats amazing about David Sills of WV is that he was a QB 2 years ago. As a former WR i see how he often makes textbook WR moves- he doesnt have any bad technique habits like many do. He shows his newness to the posotion occassionaly with certain weaknesses. But its amazing work for the short time and its only gonna go up from here. Hes like a less polished Jeff Samardijza for us ol timers ;) great fluid fast athlete.

so I liked this tweet from Nagy, the Senior Bowl guy: https://twitter.com/JimNagy_SB/status/1067562316298883072/photo/1 (even if the photo wasn't of Isabella unless it's some generic pic he had there).

"Congrats, Andy! Don’t you dare stereotype him as a “quicker-than-fast” slot guy because he can flat-out fly. Ohio state 100-meter dash champ with a time of 10.51 seconds. 3rd place in same race was @Browns No. 4 overall pick @denzelward at 10.62. Ward ran 4.32 at the Combine."

Yes indeed Backrow! We here at CF already knew ...but when Andy Isabella dominated SEC Georgia & possible 2nd CB taken in the Draft Deandre Baker; the Rest of the Nation took notice!

A NFL Raiders article really like Isabella too....Projects to be a 4th or 5th Rounder
https://fullpresscoverage.com/2018/12/12/raiders-2019-draft-prospect-wr-andy-isabella/
Speed

If you look at Isabella, leave your preconceived notions at the door. Granted, he looks a certain way and that is beyond his control. Yet, if you watch his explosion, be prepared for surprise. Isabella, off the line, brings a twitchy burst. UMass sent him vertically with regularity. As a result, Isabella would streak by the corner and safety on his way to 230 catches and 30 touchdowns. When Isabella kicks into second gear, the area of separation grows.Without a doubt, his ability to leave an opponent should translate at the next level.

Raiders Fit

As Jon Gruden continues to reshape his roster, the need for wideouts remains high on the offensive wish list. For this and the following reasons, Isabella makes sense. First, Gruden loves toughness with his playmakers. If you stand 5’10” and weigh 190 pounds, you will face angry safeties bearing down. Next, the Raiders value crisp route running and developing timing with the quarterback. Earlier this year, Oakland tried this with Ryan Switzer. Yet, Isabella is the far better athlete that Switzer. With him, the “deceptively fast” cliché does not hold up. Isabella can run and will outrun many slot corners. Lastly, Isabella played some running back in college and shows proficiency with wide runs like the jet sweep. As a result, his versatility, along with the ability to return punts could seize him a roster spot.

Good article until they mentioned Ryan Switzer, who doesnt fall under the "deceptively fast" cliche either. Switzer should still be a Raider, but they made a brain dead move after fellow white wr Griff Whalen beat out Switzer in camp. They traded Switzer (set for a key role) to make room for Whalen, only to cut Whalen a few days later............seriously.....

5 white WR's were drafted last year in Watson, Cantrell, Berrios, Proehl, and Quinn. That number should stay close in 2019 with anywhere from 4-6 projected to go:
David Sills 6'4 205 WVU 2nd-3rd rd
Andy Isabella 5'9 199 UMASS 3rd-4th
Hunter Renfrow 5'10 185 CLEM 4th rd
Cody Thompson 6'1 210 TOL 5th-6th rd
Trent Irwin 6'2 205 STAN 6th-7th rd ??
Scott Miller 5'10 175 BGSU 6th-7th rd ??

If there’s ever a white version of Tyreek Hill in the NFL I think it could be Scott Miller. He will likely end up being a 7th rounder or free agent but the guy can straight up fly. He’s very small but I hope he can stick around in the NFL and be a deep threat because he’s not just a possession receiver. I thought Switzer could become a guy like that but it’s hard to tell with 2 star receivers on his team getting most of the targets.

From an article https://raiderswire.usatoday.com/20...y-isabella-could-be-a-target-for-the-raiders/ on Raiders fansite, outlining the interest that Gruden may have in Andy Isabella, especially after coaching him in the Senior Bowl:

"According to Pro Football Focus, Isabella is the top-ranked receiver in the 2019 NFL Draft and is the site’s sixth-highest graded player in the class.

Isabella primarily plays in the slot, but he is so much more than your traditional chain-mover from the inside receiver spot. In 2018, Isabella led the country in receiving yards (1,695) as he caught 102 passes and scored total 14 touchdowns."

Good article on Isabella. Maybe the Patriots will surprise us and draft him:

Andy Isabella Could Add Another Gear To Patriots’ Slot Receiver Tradition

by Doug Kyed

INDIANAPOLIS — Last February, Mark Whipple, then head coach of the UMass Minutemen, came to work on a Sunday to pore over some tape.

It was a bright, sunny winter day, but the UMass practice field still was covered in snow after a blizzard brought nearly a foot of fresh powder to Western Massachusetts earlier in the weekend. Whipple peered out his window and saw a figure shoveling a 50-yard patch to uncover some grass.

Whipple left his office to check it out. Wide receiver Andy Isabella wanted to run.

“Our strength coach, they usually plow the field in the mornings, but they didn’t, and he was messing with me,” Isabella said. “Like, ‘You can’t work out today.’ He had a shovel there, and I was like, ‘Well, I’m going to shovel the field.’ I had nothing better to do that day anyway. So, I started shoveling the field.”

Isabella isn’t one to let a challenge go untested.

“I told him enough was enough and to get in,” Whipple said.

It wasn’t the only time Whipple, now offensive coordinator at the University of Pittsburgh, had to tell Isabella to take it easy.

“One of the few guys that I’ve had to temper his workouts and things and back him off,” Whipple said. “He just goes hard all the time.”

Yo Murphy, who’s working with Isabella at The ASPI training facility in Florida told NESN.com he has to get in Isabella’s face to tell him it’s his last rep.

“I think my why is just being overlooked a lot,” Isabella said. “That pushes me a lot.”

New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins coaches tell similar stories about wide receiver Danny Amendola, and comparisons between Isabella and slot receivers like Amendola are easy to make. Isabella, at 5-foot-9, 188 pounds, looks the part. But while Isabella’s future might come in the slot if the NFL team that drafts him isn’t overly imaginative, he shouldn’t be pigeonholed into that role. Isabella mostly played outside in college and he thinks he can do the same at the NFL level, as well.

“I think it’s more of just my toughness,” Isabella said. “You’ve got to be tough to play outside and especially being small. I think I do a good job of fending off defenders and using my speed to get open.”

Isabella also is a burner. He could run as fast as a 4.2- or 4.3-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine on Saturday. He once beat Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward, who ran a 4.32-second 40-yard dash at last year’s combine, in the 100-meter dash to win an Ohio state championship in high school. Murphy compared Isabella to Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Tyreek Hill. Senior Bowl executive director Jim Nagy likened Isabella to Brandin Cooks or T.Y. Hilton. Isabella threw in a Golden Tate comp.

In high school, Isabella had the fastest 60-meter dash time in the country at 6.72 seconds. That finally opened some college’s eyes less than a week before signing day. Still, all UMass had to do was offer him a scholarship to get him to come to Amherst, Mass., and play for the Minutemen. Isabella only had scholarship offers from UMass, Air Force and FCS schools. No one was all that interested in a 5-foot-7, 170-pound running back. Isabella, fortunately, went through a growth spurt and position change.

Isabella now is working to control that speed with former Patriots wide receiver Randy Moss. Murphy said the two wideouts have formed a close bond and he expects them to stay in contact even after the draft.

“That’s been good,” Isabella said of working with Moss. “He’s been really tough on us. I like working with that style of coaching. He would have us out there running like eight 40s and then get on the line, run five routes and then get back on the line and run like eight more 40s full speed. And actually, the first day working out with him, I sat on the field for like 30 minutes just trying to drag myself to the car. And then the next day, we were out there doing the same thing. Now it’s more we have a relationship where I can talk to him and not be afraid to talk to him. He’s definitely teaching me a lot.”

Moss is coaching Isabella when and how to turn on the jets. He challenges Isaballa at the line of scrimmage and gets on him when he drops a pass. In 1-on-1 work at the training facility, Murphy says cornerbacks have trouble keeping up with Isabella’s jets.

Moss also is teaching Isabella the intricacies of running routes from the slot. Because even though Isabella can play outside and proved it against top competition at UMass — he had 102 catches for 1,698 yards with 13 touchdowns in 2018 including a 15/219/2 line against Georgia — Moss still believes an NFL team will want to start him out inside.

“He says based on my performances and my reputation in the league, hopefully, my role will increase,” Isabella said.

Comparisons between Isabella and Amendola, Wes Welker and Julian Edelman will be plentiful. In Isabella’s second session with Moss, the Hall of Fame receiver noted he was just as small as Welker.

But they’re also off base. Amendola ran a 4.70-second 40-yard dash at the combine. Welker ran a 4.65 at his pro day; Edelman was clocked at 4.52.

There’s a reason Isabella is being talked about as a prospect who could be selected by the second day of the 2019 NFL Draft. If he runs as fast as many expect, he’ll be much more than your typical undersized receiver.

I like the Tyreek Hill comparison. It would be nice to see a team uses Isabella in the same imaginative ways that the Chiefs use Hill. Plus Andy has better hands than Hill and comes without the TNB baggage.

Exactly. Not a woman beating POS.

**Also noticed RedRaider threw out the Hill comparison earlier in this thread. Doesn't surprise me. Top Notch Scouting team here at CF.
