Since 2005, Wake has started 9, 7, 7, 10, 11, 11, 10, 10, 8, 8, 7, 7 and 6 white starters. In 2018 they look to potentially jump up to 7 white starters depending on the QB and RB situations.

By all accounts RB Cade Carney is healthy and primed for a big season. Freshman QB Sam Hartman looks to be leading the compeition with a black quarterback for the QB spot. As of now on defense no white athletes are projected on the two deep.

Players to look out for include TE Brandon Chapman, LB Jake Simpson, S Luke Masterson

Offense
QB - Sam Hartman **in a position battle
RB – Cade Carney ** in a position battle
WR - Alex Bachman
TE - Jake Freudenthal
C - Ryan Anderson
RG - Patrick Osterhage
RT - Jake Bensinger

Defense

None

Carney started as a freshman a couple years ago right out of the gate.....Much like Epstein did last year.....Then kept getting dinged up......I’ve seen him second on all depth charts....
Let’s hope he stays healthy and gets lots of carries......

Thanks Leo.

Never a contender Wake, like Duke, generally don't have as many white players as one would expect. Still zero white starters on D is alarming. Again we can only hope some white players emerge as the season wears on.

At least the offense has some potential with RB Carney and WR Bachman who I think will play a bigger role this season.

A bit hum drum but overall we have seen worse teams than Wake Forest. If this was the layout for an SEC team they would move to the front of the line in that conference.

They also have the opportunity of fielding a significant white RB and solid white WR on the field at the same time, a true rarity in college sports these days so that alone boosts this team's stock.

Looks like QB Hartmans main black quarterback competition, Kendall Hinton, has been moved to wide receiver, though another black quarterback is the new number two on the depth chart.

Coming off a stirring bowl win with WR Alex Bachman picking up 171 receiving yards this is a team and a head coach on the upswing.

Looking back RB Cade Carney as reported reached 1000 yards rushing and Bachman bolstered his stat line for the year to a solid 37-541-6. In fact despite the "heralded" small WR who just declared and someone will over draft on in Greg Dortch, Bachman lead the team in yards per catch (14.6).

Bachman returned kicks in the bowl game too.

And freshman QB Sam Hartman showed flashes before going out with an injury in November.

Sadly Bachman is a senior but Carney is a junior. (NFL late round in 2020?) Rare team with a starting white WR and a key white RB.

Their D is still not great in terms of caste but sophomore S/LB ( I can't tell which) Luke Masterson emerged as a key figure on defense.

And their ecruiting class is one of the best anti caste in the nation. They have the next Wes Welker in WR Nolan Groulx, a star slot who pulled out of Wisconsin. Also signed an athlete in Taylor Morin. Most power teams avoid recruiting white skill players at 6'1 170 but swift Morin should factor in at some point.

Dave Clawson is the HC and unlike so many other coaches who head for the caste playbook Clawson and his team could be someone to keep an eye on next season.

WR Bachman of course is never mentioned as an NFL prospect but hopefully someone gives him a shot. He has good size, solid speed and some talent.

The racism is blatantly evident when "draft experts" evaluate Wakes RB's. Wakes Sr. RB Matt Colburn 5'10 200 a smallish back thats not all that elusive bfinished final season on 159 att for 758 yds and 5 TD's, good enough to give him a mid-round grade in the 2019 draft.

However as we know here Wakes superior back is Cade Carney by fart who at 5'11 215 who broke 1000 yds in the ACC on 186 att for 1,006 yds and 8 TD's. To put up those stats in the ACC is no small feat, yet Carney has not got a whimper of draft buzz. As it turns out someone on here mentioned Carney actually has a faster 40 time than Colburn too, so the only thing draft evaluators like about Colburn is he's black and had decent numbers. I really just want to slap Mel Kiper or Todd Mcshays with these facts and make them try to explain it!
