Devon Allen 13.42(1) 110mh Oregon Twilight meet, Johnathan Cabral(3) 13.49 in the same heat, these were wind legal times. Both were running their second races of the season. Not overly fast but solid times early in the season.

Lemaitre with a blazing (wink) 20.84 (1.6) at an Interclub meet in France.
I really can't believe that he still runs in 'club' meets vs. running in some low-key international meets.
He really has some sort of 'issue' mentally, that prevents him from pushing his boundaries.
10 years of competing for a club, and still using the same coach.

well its his 1st race of the season, he has a slight strain in his hip flexor, he wasent pushing 100% he said...more like 99.9% judging by the race video
... and even though ever other sprinter seems to be running under 20.3 in their 1st race....whatever....he will be a 10.1-10.2, 20.2-20.3 guy this year. That is his peak. Kudos to him for a good career but thats about it...I guess.

I will say this you guys are pretty harsh in terms of your criticism. He isn't going to blaze to a 20 flat to start the season because he isn't on the Gatlin PED regime. That said why does he train in rural France with the next fastest guy about a 11 flat guy. He needs to at least train with a Jimmy Vicaut type to push him or with US university D 1 guys.
I too agree the ship has sailed for pb performances in the 100 but he might have an outside shot of a near pb or another sub 20 late in the season around a major meet in the 200 if his form improves. In the recent past he has had mediorce 100 times and still had world class 200 times because of his closing speed.

I agree. He always starts the season very slowly and eases into race form over a few months. I have no doubt that he can still run a sub 20. A sub 10 may be harder due to his starts but I think he is capable of both if he can just stay healthy for a whole summer. That is a big if. The times yesterday are because he jogged that race. He will probably go 20.50 in his next race nad go down faster from there. By late June to July we will see the Lemaitre we are all used to. He and Guliyev are still the best white sprinters outside of Borzov ever as far as race times. Also Christophe won a bronze at the 2016 Olympics and Guliyev got a gold at the 2017 World Championhips. Pretty incredible.

You're giving Lemaitre a pass because it's his first race of the year, but Guliyev opened his season running 20.20 in an international meet.
Devin Quinn, white sprinter from Illinois has run 20.82 this year. Zack Shinnick, a 400m runner from USC ran 20.58.
Austin Kratz, the HSer, has run 20.74 this year.
Let's not forget that Lemaitre ran 21.44 in his heats at the French Indoor Championships; and 6.71 (?) in the 60m.
Maybe he's tired . . . again.
I think this is his last year. He'll try to get a medal at the Euro Championships, and then retire at the end of the season.

1 month ago Christophe had a pain with its hamstring, the same pain as this winter, thus he had said before the race that he did not want to run to 100%
After the race Christophe was happy to have had no pain.

today at the Pac12 Championships both Zack Shinnick and Shae Anderson compete in the 400m. Not sure what Shinnicks coach was thinking entering him with a NT= crappy lane assignment. Best of luck to both of them.

Schippers 22.34 for second and Prandini 23.02 6th from lane 2 at DL Shanghai, SB for both, Schippers tightened up last 15m, looks like she needs a bit more endurance training and she will hit her stride quite well. Sage Watson 3rd 55.35 in 400m hurdles.

Zack Shinnick finished 9th at Pac12 in the 400m and did not advance, his time was slow for him 47.65

I don't think anybody picked up on this here but Devin Quinn had a personal best in the 100 meters like 45 days ago with a very wind legal 10.12. I would love to see Jeff Blake, Quinn, Teeters and Shabayan run an all white American 4 x 100 relay. I bet they could pull off a very low 38. At least with this Tristan Parmley kid and Austin Kratz the U.S. white sprinting depth has probably never been deeper as far as world class times.
I did report on Devin Quinn's 10.12 and 20.84.
I was anxious to see what he would run at the Big 10 Championships, but he only ran 10.28.
Jeff Blake just ran 10.46 a couple of days ago in Guadeloupe.
Teeters....I don't know what's happening with him.

Gorgeous Canadian hurdler Sage Watson won the 400mh in Japan not overly fast but an easy win for her...It seems the Japanese are grooming half negro half Japanese male sprinters now, no less than 4 at the Seiko Grand prix. Chinese female sprinter
