whitest looking Jamaican I recall seeing. Her mother was white American and her biological father a mixed race Jamaican reggae musician. Her mother took her back to the States to grow up and married a caucasian American.

The first sprinter of note of Jamaican nationality was of similar racial ancestry as this lady. Norman Manley became Prime Minster of Jamaica, he was a high school sprint champion and earned a Rhodes Scholarship to Oxford.

Because there are very few "real" White people, people like this lady or Norman Manley or his crazy socialist son Michael Manley are considered White in the Anglo Caribbean countries.

I was very happy for Richard Kilty. I still would love to see him get that long elusive sub 10 but it's not very likely
at this stage of his career. I hope I'm wrong. He is such a fiery competitor!

Kristoffer Hari finished 2nd in a windy 20.75 today at a college meet. Not a bad time for a freshman despite the wind.

You're not being mean - it's just a fact. She can't handle pressure at all. She has been carrying an injury for some time but she's happy to get cheers on the starting line and collect future accolades as an "Australian representative". That alone will impress lots of people in the futre. But it doesn't impress me or other track followers.
Joshua Clark is now her training partner and he ran terribly in the anchor leg of the relay, both heat and final. He is eternally injured and if you look at his running style you can tell he has a lower back/hamstring problem. So far from his 10.16 of two years ago. That was exactly the "style" I had when running with that type of injury. The first 3 guys were VERY competitive and if Harry AA can run away from you (as happened with Clarke) you're not running well because Harry's no superstar sprinter.
Why not put Hartmann or even Nick Hough in? Clarke was getting worse in each of his 4 Games runs.

But yes, great for Kilty. He's had a really honest, gutsy career

wow finally got a chance to actually watch the mens 4x100m Commonwealth Games and I am befuddled by the Australian mens quartet, who had the final decision to give a 10.25-30 man the final leg? The other three especially Hale had him in top three in the stretch and Clarke looked like he was running in quicksand....should have had him on the bench....there has to be other white male aussies who can run sub 10.20? Still I would rather watch these guys than Canadas negroes.

The Boston Marathon went off in March like weather in mid April and the favorites died throughout the race. On the woman's side the first American female won in the professional era and the top spots were filled with semi pro type runners who seemed to have a better body type for this weather. Even on the men's side a semi pro Japanese runner with a full time job won the race after the leading Kenyan literally hit the wall with 2 miles to go.....

Hannah Cunliffe won the 100m in Grenada in 11.42 slow but she was happy with her finish

Devin Quinn of the University of Illinois ran a 10.12 today in California.
Outstanding time for the collegian!
Also 20.82 in the 200m.

Jenna Prandini ran 11.09 for 3rd place at Mt. Sac Relays.
Good opening time for the season.

That time is outstanding for Quinn! Wow that gets me so excited. I'm going to go and try to find the video of the race.

Also pumped to see Prandinin open up with such a fast time. It's gonna be a great track season.

thing is, since his initial CG heat run his health was going backwards. If he'd run 10.25 on the final leg I'd have been content - I reckon it was more like a 10.5. The first 3 boys had us within a metre of the leaders at that change

Devin Quinn's teammate, David Kendziera, won the 110m Hurdles at the Mt. Sac Relays, defeating former Olympic Champion, Aries Merritt.
He also took 2nd in the 400m Hurdles, in 49.39.

thing is, since his initial CG heat run his health was going backwards. If he'd run 10.25 on the final leg I'd have been content - I reckon it was more like a 10.5. The first 3 boys had us within a metre of the leaders at that change

if his health was suspect for the finals then the coach should have gone with the alternate, surely he could have done better, or at least not caused the team a medal. Lessons to be learned for future and these guys definitely have a bright future.

I still think she is so beautiful. Hopefully she can have a long and snd successful career. I also hope she can have a beautiful
white family someday. The times will comes in a few months. She has the genetics and the desire. Good luck to Hannah Cunliffe finally living out her dream! Good way to start in your first professional race!

well yes. That what I said in a prior post. Alex Hartman can run a good bend and Nick Hough who medalled in the hurdles ran 10.39 at 17 so he can sprint a bit if he can still run a 13.3 hurdles while knocking over every 2nd one.
I think this foursome has trained hard together and the other boys wanted to share any accolades with Clarke.
Nevertheless, 38.58 with that final leg shows me they can brake our 38.17 Aussie record when all are in shape.
The guys also supported him afterwards. G ood team spirit may count for lots in the future -you know what they say: a champion team can always beat a team of champions.
They need to become as slick as the Japanese team and do the best with what we have.

Clarke does worry me because of his hamstring problems. That's why he pulled out of Beijing after running a 10.15 (+0.9) 2 years ago

The IAAF ruled against Caster Semenya and the other hulks that robbed Melissa Bishop and others podium spots or higher medals. Great to see Horn go sub 11 with legal wind, I am a little worried about Schippers, since she switched coaches she has gone a bit backwards, hopefully with this 11.03 start she will improve upon her times. Heard a rumour that Ta Lou is on the juice as well as Thompson... I hope Ta Lou is clean as she is about the only black sprinter that is tolerable. The man won the women's 800m........nuff said

Some early track news out of the Diamond League Doha Meet today.

Carina Horn of South Africa set a new national record going sub 11 for the first time in her career. She is the
first South African Lady to do this. She is a beautiful blonde for those who haven't seen her. Horn ran a wind
legal time of 10.98 and Dafne Schippers wasn't far beind with a season opening 11.03!

In the mens 200 meters Ramil Guliyev opened his season with a 3rd place finish in a very fast time
of 20.11 wind legal as well. Happy to see him start off the season with a stellar time.

Guliev tied up with about 20m left otherwise he would have hit 20.00, he was leading till 160m, good start to the season
