2018 Season news

caught the tailend of the mens 5000m at the World U20 and I am flabbergasted. The keyans, ethiopians and ugandans blasting by other countries very best runners like they are pylons? When are the governing bodies gonna hold these cheating countries accountable? I mean come on!!! 65 second 400's in the final laps???? PED'S!

On the otherhand the mens shot put was won by a white south african over a white american by 1cm 22.07-22.06 now that is drama!! well done boys!

Yep .netherland and Switzerland are ****** when it comes to athletics , as are a lot of European countries ....thankfully Eastern Europe are still performing home grown ....

And listening to bbc commentary talk **** anytime guliyev runs is real rascist garbage ..and the the fact that London dictates who goes to championships ....and kilty is somehow persona non grata when it comes to bbc and uk athletics big wigs ...

The World Under 20 Championships has really set the bar high. Even in the sprints. Here are the
semi finals for the mens 100 meters. I'm very excited to see how our guys do and I'm hoping that
we can get several through to the finals! Samuel Purola has a really tough heat.

I was looking over the heats and saw Ukrainian Vasyl Makukh with a PB of 10.29...thinking we had another guy to root for, then clicked and saw he is black or at least half. This is absurd....the black population in Ukraine can't be that big. Jake Doran from Australia and Henrik Larsson of Sweden both have very fast times and hopefully do well!

A new name, Dominic Ashwell of Great Britain, also qualified for the finals with a time of 10.28.
Despite being a small country, GB keeps turning out fast sprinters and runners. Much more so than the US.

Also Yuki Hashioka won the Men's Long Jump.

well done to the 2 Aussie men 1&2 in the decathlon! The little japanese woman destroys the ethiopians in the womens 3000m, side note the 10th place finisher was a girl I know Taryn O'Neill from Kelowna who finished with a 9 second PB!!!! Also nice to see a Japanese guy beat the blacks in the LJ!

Here's the final.
Ashwell of GB looked pretty good. But a great race from Zohri in lane 8.

I'm happy for Zori. He looks like he is going to be another world class Asian sprinter. Great for Indonesia.

I posted the article about Larsson.

I want to also congratulate Dominik Ashwell. He finished 5th in a new p.b. of 10.25 out of lane 1. The inner and
outside lanes are very hard to judge where your at in a race but he did outstanding. This kid is very powerfully
built. Reminds me a little of Craig Pickering from around a decade ago. I'm excited to see what he can do in the
future. Just like jacknyc said, the U.K.(England) just seems to find an endless supply of white sprinters who are
really good. It's too bad America with it's huge population dwarfing England doesn't do the same thing.

I really think both Ashwell and Larsson have bright futures ahead of them!

One last thing. Does anyone know why Samuel Purola was a no show for the semi finals? I was so pumped to
see him run. Maybe he got hurt in training. What a shame! He was proabably a lock to make the finals if healthy
and in form!

More proof that what we have been seeing in sprinting in the last 30+years has been drug fueled. All of the competitors looked like they could audition for a remake of Chariots of Fire and the field is much more diverse than a normal world final. The general public is too dim witted or non caring to notice the massive muscle gains of the PED abusers.

PS this is the best showing since 88' for an Indonesian sprinter as the country had a competitor make the semi finals in Seoul. Which considering how dirty that meet was it's a near miracle he did that......

Wow! What a great race. What is up with the Asians this year?? They are kicking ass.

What happened to the Australian kid?

Purola fell ill/caught fever the night before semifinals/finals, so he dropped out. A real shame. He was looking a little better in his preliminaries. He has been a little disappointing this season considering how he was flying a year ago, well he is still young..

There seems to be a lot of talent coming up and also evaporating. While Yamagata, Kilty, Reus ( I know the 10.15 ) , Teeters and many more there are guys like Kratz, Doran, Tortu and Larson coming forward. What is up with Gemilli doing his Doug Henning this year?

He came second at the British Championships in the 200. He has been Doug Henning in the 100.....
