Two africans running for Netherlands....what a sad state of affairs.
I was looking over the heats and saw Ukrainian Vasyl Makukh with a PB of 10.29...thinking we had another guy to root for, then clicked and saw he is black or at least half. This is absurd....the black population in Ukraine can't be that big. Jake Doran from Australia and Henrik Larsson of Sweden both have very fast times and hopefully do well! The World Under 20 Championships has really set the bar high. Even in the sprints. Here are the
semi finals for the mens 100 meters. I'm very excited to see how our guys do and I'm hoping that
we can get several through to the finals! Samuel Purola has a really tough heat.

More proof that what we have been seeing in sprinting in the last 30+years has been drug fueled. All of the competitors looked like they could audition for a remake of Chariots of Fire and the field is much more diverse than a normal world final. The general public is too dim witted or non caring to notice the massive muscle gains of the PED abusers.I'm happy for Zori. He looks like he is going to be another world class Asian sprinter. Great for Indonesia.
I posted the article about Larsson.
I want to also congratulate Dominik Ashwell. He finished 5th in a new p.b. of 10.25 out of lane 1. The inner and
outside lanes are very hard to judge where your at in a race but he did outstanding. This kid is very powerfully
built. Reminds me a little of Craig Pickering from around a decade ago. I'm excited to see what he can do in the
future. Just like jacknyc said, the U.K.(England) just seems to find an endless supply of white sprinters who are
really good. It's too bad America with it's huge population dwarfing England doesn't do the same thing.
I really think both Ashwell and Larsson have bright futures ahead of them!
One last thing. Does anyone know why Samuel Purola was a no show for the semi finals? I was so pumped to
see him run. Maybe he got hurt in training. What a shame! He was proabably a lock to make the finals if healthy
and in form!

He came second at the British Championships in the 200. He has been Doug Henning in the 100.....There seems to be a lot of talent coming up and also evaporating. While Yamagata, Kilty, Reus ( I know the 10.15 ) , Teeters and many more there are guys like Kratz, Doran, Tortu and Larson coming forward. What is up with Gemilli doing his Doug Henning this year?
