Since 2005, Nevada has started 15, 12, 6, 4, 6, 11, 10, 11, 9, 5, 7 and 8 Whites. They drop down to 6 in 2018.

The Wolfpack have no white secondary players on the roster and very few white front 7 players on the defense. The trend of erasing whites from the defensive side of the ball completely is not relegated to the bigger schools.

The Ty Gangi to McClane Mannix connection should prove to be very productive again. WR Kaleb Fossum also returns after an inury shortend 2017 season.

Offense:
QB Ty Gangi
WR McClane Mannix
LT Jake Nelson
C Sean Krepsz
RT Nate Brown

Defense:
LB Lucas Weber

Players to watch include QB Griffin Dahn, WR Kaleb Fossum (could end up being a potential starter), WR Reese Neville, DE Kaleb Meder, LB Kyle Adams.

Only 1 pale face on defense for a team like Nevada is a travesty. .

Thanks Leo.

The main attraction here of course is sophomore WR McClane Mannix. He started off the season like gang busters and despite a couple of off weeks peaked on October 14th with a 7-150-1 stat line. These days it is rare to have a white WR freshman make such a big noise so early.

But see below how his production tailed off dramatically towards the end of the season much like West Virginia's David Sills.

I remember peeking at some of these games hoping to see Mannix strike big but was shocked that the few times they did bother to throw to him they were dink and dunk passes barely five to ten yards up field. What happened to all the big play stuff? I often wonder if the brakes are put on white WRs for various reasons like 'team unity" or something. Just a complete turn around in approach from the early portion of the season.

Hopefully there is a more consistent quality to his game this season including getting back to some long yardage plays. He has a lot of speed but in order for the NFL to perk up (he isn't very big) Mannix will have to rack up some nice numbers over the next two or three seasons.
