It is a terrible shame that the one player that lifted my spirits the most during this mediocre season so far was DE Nick Bosa who had surgery today for a tummy pull. Most figure he won't recover in time for the epic Penn State game on the 29th. That sucks!
I am going to ramble for a moment here. When things turn grim my eyes widen. Of course I notice the crowds at college football games but scanning the crowds at the Nebraska, Michigan, Clemson and Iowa State games, to name just a few of many, all I saw was a sea of countless white faces. What a contrast to the racial make up of the players on the field. The contrast is shocking. Is this the future of sports through eternity? Huge throngs of white fans watching non white athletes perform?
And I wonder will schools like Florida and Tennessee, two schools that used to play terrific white WRSs ever play white WRs again? The NFL white CB has disappeared so why is it a stretch to think these two schools among others are done playing white WRs. Florida State is a good example of a school that has completely abandoned the idea.
There are some intriguing match ups this weekend. Staggering Nebraska travels to Michigan. Their back up QB Andrew Bunch is a speedster and they should have allowed him to run around more last week against Troy. And a nice WR matchup between Mannix and Thompson as Toledo and Nevada play on national TV.
I am down but not out. I just hope we have a better week and more than just a few things to cheer about on week 4.
