I can't believe it's that time of year already! 2017 College Football Season is fast approaching so let's get down to business. This year UW will start 12White Athletes. A slight decline of 2, from 2016 season. Plenty of depth though amongst the backups. Huge OL and Stout defense once again!

TE Troy Fumagalli SR. 6'5 250 and Kyle Penniston RSO. 6'4 240

LT David Edwards RSO. 6'7 306

LG Jon Dietzen RSO. 6'6 334

C Michael Dieter RJR. 6'6 329

RG Beau Benzshawel RJR. 6'6 316

DEFENSE

DE Conor Sheehy SR 6'4 290

MLB Jack Cichy RSR 6'2 230

*MLB Ryan Conelly RJR 6'2 235 not listed as starter but will be on the field a ton.

Kind of sad knowing that Jim Leonard is the db coach and all of the stuff he went through as a white defensive back to not seek out and recruit other white dbs that are facing the same discrimination he did.

Wisconsin should be a fun team to watch though - they play a real brand of football.

True I've noticed the last few classes the Badgers have tried to get faster aka blacker at both WR and DB classes. Leonhard is in his 1st season as Defensive Coordinator. Be interesting to see how he recruits. He did recruit Safety Scott Nelson last year from Detroit . Badgers also have Kobe Knaak and Bret Verstagen as reserve young safeties. At WR, true freshman Cade Green from Texas should see field in a few years.

* Looks like Verstegen and Knaak are no longer on the team. Didn't survive UWs recent purge of Walk ons. RB Laufenberg gone as well.

Also Keeping an eye on a couple position battles along OL and backup QB. CB Christian Volpentesta survived the cuts!

Incoming safety , Scott Nelson, for some weird reason is listed as the starting corner going into camp according to Ourlads.com. I don't know if it is a typo or error but that would be really good news if it is true.

It was Scott Nelson according to Ourlads though this is the same guy that had Maryland rb, Jake Funk as first team after spring and he is listed between third and fifth everywhere else.

Hey no worries.

While I have everybody's attention it looks like Deiter will be starting at LT after moving from Center. Freshman Redshirt Tyler Biadasz has taken control of center spot after being recruited as a DL.

Damn, that sucks. At least it was early in the season, so that he can be ready for Spring Ball and next fall.

Bummer, Trent Ingalls, a 2018 Safety commit "parts ways" with Wisconsin and isn't expected to play football again after his upcoming senior season.

What the hell?! He needs to be playing college ball somewhere even if it's not in MadTown. Long lanky athlete with legit 4.5 speed.. Real head scratcher. Hopefully he changes his mind after his senior year.

Probably due to all of those NFL old-timers and not-so-old-timers now suffering from CTE. That would be my guess, at least.

Couple of additional starters both former walk -in. Tyler Johnson has been starting last several weeks at MLB due to injuries piling up. Also 5'8 Jack Dunn will be manning the slot against Iowa, leading UW WR QUintez Cephus blew out his knee and is out rest of year. And last year's leading WR Jazz Peavy weirdly took absence from team midseason.
