In accordance to the Christian McCaffrey article that was previously posted by fellow Caste FB Hall of Famer "White Is Right", the link below also illustrates a moving chart that breaks down all positions from a racial perspective:

According to this tracker, only 8% of the NFL's WRs were White in 2006. In 2010, 15% of the NFL's WRs were White.

In 2017, we currently have about 43 White Wide Receivers who are trying to latch on to a NFL roster.

Will this be the season that we tip the 15% threshold? Will this be the season that we have at least 25 + White WRs suiting up to play on any given Sunday. Or will this be the biggest White WR purge of this generation?

Time will tell.

Nice to have the list thanks Sapient.
The arrival of Christian heralds a new beginning of sorts at RB and the CB position remains as barren as the Sahara desert but the WR is the most glamorous position on a football field as far as I am concerned and the young whites coming up would prefer to play WR than CB and I can't really blame them for that. And we are heading into a season that holds as much promise for white WR's than I can recall for at least the last 30 years.
But you can't take anything for granted and things will have to turn a certain way for the white WR's to take full advantage. Usually for whatever reason things start to unravel but lets hope for the best.
We have the two bona fide superstars in Jordy and Edelman and a star in Decker who will be returning from a shoulder injury.
You have two players who are on their way to becoming type flight stars in Thielen and Hogan the two most pleasant surprises in the NFL last year. Thielen in particular is poised to have a huge year.
All four rookies hold promise. Mel Kiper went as far as to compare Kupp to Jordy Nelson which is going a bit too far for me even but all of them should make some noise this upcoming season. Switzer has a chance to really open up eyes but in one way shape or form all four should get playing time. Both Hansen and Taylor are in ideal situations regarding playing time.
But there is a big hazy fog over a lot of these other WR's. The 2015 and 2016 drafts have been frustrating. Last year Braverman and Bohringer got drafted but never got to play. Both are still question marks. Bohringer according to reports doesn't really know how to play per say so don't be surprised if he lands on the PS again. Think of him as a rough cut Jeff Janis and even Jeff hasn't had many chances just to give you an idea of how far off the German is at this point but he could pay off down the road. As for Janis at the very least he has been a superb special teams player and has shown some stuff at WR when he does play. And he should be the primary KR if you ask me.
Braverman's 2017 outlook is a question mark. Shifty and quick he is slender and slight but it is still not certain that he makes the Bears roster in 2017.
In 2015 two guys who should have been drafted got some playing time last year. Erickson proved to be a quick and formidable KR and PR but never got a shot at the slot. Jordan Taylor saw the field a bit and produced. I see Taylor's role expanding but the Bengals drafted over Erickson so it remains to be seen if John Ross steals his duties. I hope not because I feel Erickson can produce at WR with skills possibly similar to Thielen meaning an all around threat with the ability to go deep. Adam Humphries will also have to deal with being drafted over so he could see his playing time reduced. The same goes for Amendola but with Hogan and Edelman that would be less of a blow.
Campanaro has been injury prone so his 2017 outlook continues to be murky as usual.
Some think Abbrederis will stick with the Lions so maybe he finally gets to show off his talents. The real wild card this season for me is slot Jace Billingsley who has yet to see the field. He has some genuine quickness so we can only hope he emerges into a breakout player.
Cole Beasley who has better speed than people think should return to the slot and look for the Cowboys to copy the Pats with the two slot (Switzer and Beasley) four wide out formation.
I never get worked up over the FA contingent but you have to think Brandon Reilly and mercury in a bottle Riley McCarron are opening some eyes at training camps.

Great list. Our guys are really making some headway. Based on my observations, this trend essentially began when the Patriots signed Wes Welker 10 years ago and made him into a superstar. Many of the white WR's permitted to play in today's NFL owe #83 a debt of gratitude.

Many of the guys at the bottom of the list will surely be cut, but many could make the PS. The Bucs, for instance, have 5 white WR's on their roster and only Humphries is guaranteed to make the squad.

Greg Salas is on your list, however, I believe he is part Polynesian.

Probably about 20 of these guys stick on actual rosters. I believe we were at a high point a few years back with some 20 odd white receivers on active rosters.

In reference to the article's racial breakdown above, the article does not mention if that 15% (White WRs) in 2010 was part of the NFL 53 men roster or if the 15% was part of the complete NFL roster which also includes the groups of 10 practice squad players who practices with their teams throughout the week but are not eligible to be active on game days.

Each team's anatomy is different, but most teams will keep six wide receivers on their 53 men roster which will bring up the total of WRs on a 53 men roster to 192.

So this brings me up to my next series of questions: In 2010, did we really have a total about 29 White WRs scattered throughout 53 men rosters? If so, where was I? How did I not catch this? I mean, 2010 was the year that my father asked me a question regarding Danny Woodhead and then the CasteFootball alarm system woke me up! I am assuming that we probably had about 20 of our guys on active rosters and the remaining 9 on the practice squad.

With regards to 2017, if I had to formulate an educated guess on how many of our guys will make a 53 men roster, I would guess these 25 (included Greg Salas since I think the majority here on the forum considers him white):

Just remember the annual White purge thread we have here. Every year there are lots of White players who never get a chance, or who have been hanging around on the fringes for a while and finally get the boot. Of the list above I'd say Janis, Humphries (TB has been stocking up at WR), McEvoy, Taylor, Walters, Williams, Salas, Bersin, Campanaro, Braverman, Billingsley, McCaffrey and Spruce are all in danger. Not saying they'll all be cut and not picked up by anybody else, but don't be surprised if some of these guys get waived and aren't heard from again. On the plus side, a few free agent White receivers may make practice squads and begin a racial apprenticeship, one that usually ends with them out of the league without ever getting meaningful playing time.

In spite of my post above, I will say that I'm happy with the four White receivers drafted this year and the teams they went to. I won't be surprised if all of them get to play at least some as rookies.

Cooper Kupp is in the best situation, with a legitimate chance to start this year, if not Week 1 then at some point during the season. We were afraid Trent Taylor might not be drafted, but he has a very good chance to become the 49ers' slot receiver sooner rather than later. Switzer is just too talented not to make some splash plays, and hopefully as a receiver and not just as a kick returner. Dallas seems to have drafted him because he is very suitable to enhancing Dak Prescott's strengths.

Chad Hansen is in the toughest situation given the Jets' unsettled quarterback situation, but there's not a lot of talent at receiver on New York and he has it in abundance. He may be even better than Eric Decker if he gets a fair opportunity. And Hansen and Kupp should both play on the outside; it would be ridiculous if either is moved inside.

Another receiver who potentially is in a great place if he can only stay healthy is Michael Campanaro. The Ravens didn't draft any receivers of note, Steve Smith retired, and they only have one-trick pony Mike Wallace and Breshad Perriman on the outside. Perriman was a first round draft choice in 2015 and is the son of an NFL receiver, but has been a bust to this point. Joe Flacco loves to throw to his tight ends and Kyle Juszczyk was easily the most utilized fullback when in Baltimore. Campanaro would seem to be made to order for Flacco and has a clear path to be the starter on the inside, but he has to stay healthy. He's made some nice plays when healthy and used, so he has the potential to end his racial apprenticeship in a big way in 2017.

Kupp is actually being talked about as being the lead receiver on the Rams this year. Someone, made a prediction about him having 70 catches, and while I don't know about that many, I do see him as a day 1 starter with a statline of around 55-800-3.

Kupp is going to be a star in this league. I just wish he was a little younger to start his career.

I see Taylor having to fight for time early, and ending up the best receiver on his team. Switzer, will unfortunately earn his time at the cost of Beasley. I don't like him going to Dallas.

I'm not sure Hansen is better than a 100% Decker, but Decker will be a trade casualty, especially if he looks good out the gate.

This is an odd year for our receivers, and if New England wins again, it may well throw the Caste System in an uproar. I'm actually excited for the first time in a while.

Some updates for our guys:

Cooper Kupp is listed as the starter in the Rams depth chart they released

Tanner Gentry by all accounts has looked like the best wr in camp and is practicing with the 2s

Trent Taylor is tearing it up as well and I would be surprised if he wasn't a starter by the time the season begins

Switzer has been hurt...he's looking at a backup spot either way, with a special teams role.

Drew Morgan is listed as backup behind Jarvis Landry. Good sign.

Gehrig Dieter has been doing good things in camp. He's listed as a slot receiver naturally.

Chad Hansen has had some injury problems but is now practicing with a knee brace. The Jets wr corps is so decimated he has a good shot a making a big contribution this year if he stays healthy.

The Texans wrs are also having problems, they've lost Fuller and Hopkins to injury. This is a good chance for Riley McCarron to show out, he's being tutored by Wes Welker so that can only help.

Thomas Sperbeck was released by the Buccs in July to make room for some other player. Honestly he wouldn't have made the team no matter how good he played so that's probably for the best

Jordan Westerkamp finally signed with the Dolphins after having tryouts with several teams.

Moritz Boehringer is on the outside looking in. Isaac Fruechte has a chance to make the squad.

Jace Billingsley and Jared Abbrederis are listed in the fifth and sixth spots on the Lions depth charts. The lions only kept 4 receivers last year though - 5 when they activated Billingsley late in the year. We'll have to see how this shakes out.

Mitchell Paige is a guy not listed at the top but he's in chargers camp and reportedly doing well.

* Thomas Sperbeck was waived/injured on July 30, 2017 and placed on injured reserve. On August 3, 2017, the Buccaneers waived Sperbeck from injured reserve.

* AJ Cruz went through at least nine open tryouts and a couple of private workouts before he even got a look. He is now playing for the CFL's Calgary Stampeders.

Everything considered, I believe camp thus far has been overwhelmingly positive for our men. There has been a surprised amount of positive reviews on the Fantastic Four rookies that were drafted (Kupp, Taylor, Switzer, Hansen) and for those rookies who went undrafted but seem to be making a splash in training camp (i.e Gentry, Morgan, Dieter, Paige, etc.).

About three months ago, I predicted we will at least have 25 White WRs on active NFL rosters. I still stand by my prediction.

Former Oregon st. and Alabama WR- Richard Mullaney is another one! He Caught 2 passes for 70 yards in preseason wk 1. Also former BYU wr- Mitch Mathews is with the Dolphins!
Doubt Miami keeps Drew morgan and Mathews though...

I watched some video of Jordan Westerkamp. In my opinion he has what it takes to be an NFL receiver. In one game he made a behind the back catch that was tremendous.

Westerkamp has had some injury problems though. While he's a longshot to make a team I think he, based on merit, belongs in the NFL.
