I think this should count as some sort of backlash by what is largely a white fan base:
http://www.breitbart.com/sports/201...fans-leaving-empty-seats-stadiums-everywhere/
It has held up all year, and it certainly went to another level, both attendance and TV ratings, after Trump's "sons of bitches" speech in Alabama.
And it seems to not matter if you are a sorry team like CLE or NYG, or a winning team like JAX or CAR, it's empty seats everywhere. I'm encouraged by it, I never thought DWFs would give up on their football, but they seem to have found other things to do with their time.
If possible, the dimension of the actual price paid for a ticket should be factored in. If tickets are going for $6 a piece for the nosebleeds at a Giants home game and they
still can't sell them out then that's really telling. It's even telling if they
can sell them out but the average price paid is $6. That's probably the average price paid for a ticket to a WNBA game.
The won/loss record should be another dimension they take into consideration. I'm actually surprised the Brown's stadium has that many fans still attending, even though it's not anyway near full. In that case, the price of the ticket is probably a factor. Heck, if they started giving tickets away, the stadium may become full but the long-term viability of the franchise and the NFL itself would be in doubt and they would have to start relying strictly on corporate sponsorships like they do in the WNBA to keep it propped up. All of that said, there's
still a noticeable decline in viewership and attendance and I don't think it's just due to the anthem protests, but to general negro-fatigue and displays of TNB like Odell Beckham earlier this year mimicking a dog taking a leak in the end-zone or Seattle's antics at Jax last week, etc., etc. etc.
