At the end of my comments something VERY TELLING happened last night. I also have the full video of the Switzer return with radio commentary.
The Cowboys finally won a game without stud LB Sean Lee who is expected back next week. The Cowboys schedule is beyond brutal and Prescott still looks half ass but one game at a time and Jamison Crowder looked like a fool out there.
Jeff Heath in my estimation made perhaps only one error (if indeed it was an error) last night in a cover deep but for a safety that is a great batting average. His early interception was absolutely crucial. On two plays he went FLYING across the field to make one on one tackles against Crowder and Cousins. He nailed Crowder real good as the WR had visions of a TD. Heath pretty much was the DB- QB ALL NIGHT LONG while the other safety, workout wonder Byron Jones was benched periodically as the Cowboys played a lot of mix and match with their DB's. In fact Jones who many considered the best athlete of his draft year was out jumped for a TD. Workout warrior in shorts suffers "shrinkage" when the pads are put on. The fact that some Cowboys followers are itching to replace Heath is pure garbage.
Of course the greatest part of the evening was the 83 yard punt return from Switzer that like the Heath interception was a key momentum changer. We have to keep in mind a few things. There is the black QB syndrome, which is listed in medical dictionaries. Jordy, Decker and Beasley plus many others through the years can testify to the malady. In the medical dictionary it states black QB's don't allow white WR's to flourish. At the moment NO CURE has been discovered apart from removing the black QB.
As we head into the final stretch it is worth noting the "progress' of the 5 skill players drafted. WR Chad Hansen just hasn't gotten on the field much so that falls into the disappointing category. WR Trent Taylor has done well returning punts but has not done very much else.
But CM, Cooper Kupp and Switzer have been improving as the season has worn on. Switzer has had some good kick returns of late and of course last night the huge SPLASH TD. Kupp is becoming more and more comfortable and his latest 100 yard game bears that out. And CM is finding more space. And all three are heading up field with more determination. Early on they were more in the east/west feeling out stage. So good to see their talents rise to the surface.
There was a black super stud athlete on the field during Switzer's PR. His name is Fabian Moreau, a CB drafted this year from caste haven UCLA and he passes what caste infected scouts like to call the "eye test." He blew everyone out of the water during the combine. Close to the fastest player at the combine he ran a sizzling 4.35 40 yard dash and leaped 38 inches in the air. He is the prototype DB the "great black athlete" that scouts and the media DROOL over. So during the Switzer return there was Moreau #31 behind him but at great angle to catch Switzer. But a funny thing happened on the way to the forum. Moreau looked like he was stuck in mud as Switzer pulled away from him DESPITE THE ANGLE. Eat dirt Moreau, scouts and media. Switzer wins in a clear KNOCKOUT.
