It hurts that two of the best white defensive players of the last decade are on this team, as the rest of the defense and the offense are almost coal-black. Tom Savage started week one but after playing poorly will most likely be reprieved of starting in favour of Deshaun Watson (who was just as bad, but has more upside apparently). In their season opening loss against minnows Jacksonville 29-7, starting TE CJ Fiedorowicz was the team's second-best pass catcher, having 4 receptions for 46 yards. The starting OL is only 1/5 white, hence why they gave up nine (NINE!) sacks to the Jaguars. The only paleface starting on the OL is second-year centre Nick Martin, who missed the entire 2016 season through injury.
On defence we see Brian Cushing start at ILB, who has had an injury-plagued career since starting out as defensive rookie of the year in 2009. Cushing has missed 5 games over the last three seasons (compared to 20 the two seasons before that), hopefully he can stay healthy and be a force for the texans defence. Starting alongside him is, of course, JJ Watt, three-time defensive player of the year and one of the greatest defensive players of all time - and he'll be out for blood too, having missed most of 2016 with injury.
QB: Tom Savage (listed as starter currently but can't imagine he'll start week two)
FB: Jay Prosch
TE: CJ Fiedorowicz, Ryan Griffin
OL: Nick Martin, Greg Mancz, Breno Giacomini
DE: JJ Watt
ILB: Brian Cushing, Brian Peters, Dylan Cole (mixed?)
Special Teams: K Ka'imi Fairbairn*, P Shane Lechler, LS Jonathan Weeks
*white Hawaiian, birth name John Christian Fairbairn
Practice Squad: TE Evan Baylis, OT David Quessenberry, WR Riley McCarron
Injury Reserve: DL Matthew Godin
Starters: 4
On 53-man roster: 13-14
The defense will always be worth watching because of Watt and Cushing. The offense, however, is worth flicking to another channel instead of watching.
