Michigan senior DE Chase Winovich was named the winner of the Walter Camp Defensive Player of the Week award courtesy of his performance in Saturday's win over Purdue.

Winovich (6'3/245) was all up in the Boilermakers' business throughout Saturday, racking up six tackles (4.0 for loss) and three sacks in the 28-10 victory. The senior defensive lineman has picked up at least one sack in three of four games this season and has recorded 15 tackles in the last two contests.

Zach Allen is outperforming his black teammate that plays opposite of him - Harold Landry is projected as a top 5 prospect but Allen has outplayed him so far this season. Allen is bigger and stronger than Landry yet is receiving no draft attention.

SMU senior DL Justin Lawler has the highest pass-rush grade in the country according to Pro Football Focus.

Lawler (6'4/265) has posted a 90.3 grade, higher than any player in the country. The number comes from his six sacks, and the 31 pressures he's had in the 2017 season. Those pressures are the most of any 4-3 edge rusher in the country. Numbers like this will certainly attract plenty of attention, and could lead to Lawler being a high selection this spring, depending on his measurables.

Sutton Smith has been a terror as an undersized but speedy pass rusher! I know a couple of us were skeptical over the summer with NIU using him as a DE /OLB but he's been a stud all year and is building up his draft resume nicely!

Good article and exposure for Stanford Stud DL Harrison Phillips, who's been mentioned quite a bit on this site and earlier in this thread Anyway the native Nebraskan has had quite The career in Palo Alto. He's a lock to be drafted and probably earlier than we'd think.

Will Geary of KST was also mentioned earlier in this thread. He's a squatty 6ft 290 but The anchor of his team's defense. PFF has him rated number one DL in Big 12. I'm hoping he gets drafted as well but will be probably be knocked for being "undersized " aka not a fatass.

He looked like an NFL DL last night against USC. The announcers (who were actually pretty decent) complimented him on more than one occasion. In a fair world, he wouldn't last past the third round of the NFL draft.

Harrison Phillips should be a late first/early 2nd round pick at the very worst. That type of production from a nose tackle is fantastic. He's better than Solomon Thomas who went third overall to San Fran and has done zilch this season as an undersized DL.

Appreciate all the updated weekly Stats...one pic i meant to include at the Top was Wyoming's own Taven Bryan playing for Florida'...one Mock Draft had him going #32/1st Round to NE Patriots...

Yeah...just think Harrison Phillips could have been a key cog in the Nebraska's putrid swiss cheese defense. The Cornhuskers will need to do a better job of keeping In-State talent in favor of all that Upside...knew he'd be successful at Stanford if he could stay healthy!
