Great news about Coltin Gerhart. I had no idea that he played there. What a stat line!

I'm watching USC vs Cal. It's a close game in the 1st quarter. Laird has had a few carries but
hasn't been a huge factor yet! This kid is the real deal. USC has a very good defense but it's only
a matter of time before this kid breaks a few big runs. Go Cal Bears!

There was some talk about moving him to RB, wish they would have.......
Thought he was riding pine...... Good news....

Normally, I'd agree with you, but it looks like they run the triple option. So, in that case it's probably best that he's under center and not one of the multiple RB options. He gets more carries that way and is also the passer.

Oklahoma st. continues to call draw plays in long yardages situations - it's going to lose them the game.

Cal deserved to lose! I rooted for them but the coach was guilty of anti white coaching as the majority of coaches all
across the country do. It was a close hard fought game but too many times they ignorred Laird. He still carried the
ball 15 times for 82 yards but he could have easily had 50 or 60 more yards. Especially in the red zone they didn't let
him touch the ball. When your best running back is on the team healthy, why wouldn't you play him? This kind of
crap makes me so angry. They settled for too many fieldgoals and missed a few too. If they played their stud running
back Laird and gave him the ball 25 times I honestly believe they win this game. Overcoaching and anti white racism
at it's finest!

Great game between Iowa and Penn State. Iowa hung in there with a bend but don't break defense and looked like they were going to win but PSU won on the final play of the game. Josey Jewell is an animal, that may have been the best game by a linebacker I've ever seen.

Iowa lost a heartbreaker. They should still be a team to contend with though, that defense is one of the best. Jewell should be a 1st rounder, his latest performance just affirms that.

Iowa/Penn St.......best game of the season......it's a shame the Iowa defense couldn't hold on the last play of the game. Jewell was unreal at linebacker for Iowa.

Mcsorley was the difference in the game for Penn not their RB Barkely, he did not factor at all on the last drive, it was TMmac...I am a little suspect of Iowas DB's they continuously let big plays happen keeping the "D" on the field way too long in this game. JJ great game! Should be a first rd pick in the NFL but we all know what will happen. Iowas 2 missed 2 pt conversions were big(mistakes) in this game as well.

Navy's Zach Abey had 128 yards rushing on 20 carries & 2 TD's

Saw an on field interview with the New Mexico head coach Davie on ESPN
(www.espn.com/college-football/team/_/id/167/new-mexico-lobos)
Video is titled "UNM's Davie: Gameplan doesn't change under Gerhart"

Their starting quarterback was knocked out of the game(targeting). New Mexico coach said that their back-up quarterback didn't make the trip. So they had to rely on Coltin Gerhart. 9-14 for 108 yards passing, 64.3 completion percentage. 24 rushes for 156 yards, 6.5 yard average. When Coltin actually has the chance to get on the field and perform, he excelled. But at Arizona St., he didn't even get a chance to show these qb skills.

The Arizona St. school website listed his high school stats (www.thesundevils.com/roster.aspx?rp_id=2151)
-------------
Listed by ESPN as the No. 41 dual-threat quarterback recruit in the country
Rated by Scout.com as the No. 43 quarterback prospect in the nation
Nearly amassed 4,500 passing yards and 3,500 rushing yards over three years as a varsity performer
Added 1,418 rushing yards with 25 scores on 140 carries(10.1 avg) averaging 101.3 rushing yards per game.
Posted 3,151 yards of total offense as a senior.
Chose ASU over reported scholarship offers from Boise St., BYU, Duke, Fresno State, Hawaii, Iowa State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Penn State, Vanderbilt, Wisconsin, and multiple Pac-12 programs.
--------------

After all of the proven talent and skill in high school, guess what happens at FBS Arizona St.?
---------------------
REDSHIRT FRESHMAN(2015)
Converted to safety in his second year with the program and contributed to the team on special teams and on the scout team
---------------------

That's right folks. A caucasian player with all of that running, passing and athleticism is converted to a F-CKING safety.

All of that quarterback and running back skill was wasted at a Divison 1-A(FBS) school.

Would any of those other big time FBS programs that recruited him even have allowed him to play Quarterback or running back?

Coltin should have gone to a FCS(1-AA) football school, in my opinion. It is at the lower level that he would have been allowed to showcase all of his football skills. What is the point of going to these big time football programs if a player can't show his proven skills at his position? Coltin Gerhart's football skills have largely been wasted.

I think it is because schools figure they cannot be accused of racism against whites if they put them on PS etc.... I agree this kid should be starting at big name program...There are literally thousands of white athletes that have been screwed in this way over the last 25 years and yet white people do not stand up for their rights and say "we are not taking this racism shyte anymore"!!!!!

I watched the first half of the Wyoming game and Allen made two great NFL throws that were dropped by his WRs. He only ended up throwing for 92 yards but the more of Wyoming I have seen the more I see mediocre skill position players not doing there part.

Chryst was knocked out of the game for Stanford and Costello came in and played well. If I were David Shaw I would just let Costello become the QB of the future now. Chryst is decent but Costello provides a long term solution to the position.

For Michigan I would make the QB change to O'Korn as well. If there season were lost I would say they should go to one of their young QBs but they are 4-0 and O'Korn looked more competent in the passing game, getting everyone involved.

Great game and by the end I was pulling for Iowa. I still am frustrated over the white Iowa WR's barely getting looks. The team showed a ton of heart. Speaking of heart they have a children's hospital next door with a view of the field. DE Nelson along with Jewell were terrific.

Love the scene in Iowa, night game, blonde cheerleaders, white WR's, white fans, a tenacious mainly white front 7 on defense, sick kids getting proper attention what is not to like.

Iowa did not get to play it's game of ball control. The defense was on the field way to much. Their RB had a costly fumble in the first half which killed a drive. As for the WRs - Iowa is a run first team and Stanley is a first year starting QB and he has looked very promising but the way Iowa plays offense they do not want to become a pass friendly team - that is not their formula. The running game is wait failed them last night - to keep the defense fresh and rested. It was a great game and they could of lost to much worse teams in that fashion. Iowa will probably finish 9-3/8-4 which is not a bad thing IMO. Their offense will probably open up a little more and Easly and Vandenberg will get more targets.

I think Irwin on Stanford needs to get alot more targets - that is probably the most frustrating thing to see. He gets like two catches a game when he has potential to get 8-9 grabs a game.

As always thanks 22 for the detailed recap. As for Nathan Cottrell he played and made several key blocks but he had no carries. He usually lines up in a semi slot position and swings around the backfield. I sense he will become more involved as his career moves forward. He is the kick returner and Brad Stewart is the punt returner.
I know Bowling Green stinks but they have to find a way to get WR Scottie Miller, who had a good game, the ball more in space. In the open field he can turn on the jets.
