well, i totally missed on my prediction of a good game last night between Gonzaga and St. Mary's.
the Gaels didn't show up to play, and they got blitzed! they'll need to re-focus quickly in order to return to form. if things hold true, they should still get another crack at the Zags in the conference tourney after splitting the two head-to-head meetings during conference play.

Xavier's JP Macura is having a great season and getting a bunch of attention. Watched him for the first time in Xavier's win against Creighton yesterday. After the game the network showed a highlight reel of him. Here's another one:
The Washington Post yesterday had an article on Macura by a black writer named Roman Stubbs. The gist of the story is that Macura is the second most hated player in college basketball after Grayson Allen. It stated that he has blond hair and looks like Dennis the Menace in this black writers' opinion. More of the usual hate Whites narrative.

I was hoping the Gaels would play better as well. St. Mary's doesn't seem to have any answer for the Zags' black Japanese forward, Rui Hachimura. In both games, he's killed the Gaels by getting the rim and converting his opportunities. He had another big game last night. St. Mary's is going to have to stop him if they're going to win the rubber match in the WCC.

Of course, Macura would be a hated player. DWFs hate good white players, and Macura is one of them.
Ethan Happ had another monster game with 29 points and 7 boards. It's a shame the Badgers aren't any good this year.
Moritz Wagner and Duncan Robinson both had good games today. Wagner had 20 points and 11 boards, while Robinson was second on the team with 16 points.
Duke not so bad to watch right now. Marvin Bagley is out, and Alex O'Connell is starting in his place. O'Connell and Grayson Allen have been fun to watch against Georgia Tech.

Freshman sensation Brad Davison scored a career high 30pts in a losing Wisconsin effort against Michigan St. Encouraging sign for Badger fans to see his potential as a scorer. As long as Happ returns next year, they should be a lot better.

Davison is a stud!! He hit some clutch shots and free throws down the stretch for the Badgers today. Wisconsin looks like they'll be back to their old ways next year; they seem to have turned a corner the last few games. It was fun watching Davison and Maryland's Kevin Huerter go back and forth hitting clutch shots at the end of the game today.
A couple of notes from today:
Nearly all-white Lipscomb will have a chance to win the A-Sun autobid to get into the NCAA tourney on Sunday against FGCU. Garrison Matthews is a stud, and I hope he's able to shine on the big stage. He had 23 tonight as Lipscomb ran away from the 3 seed in their conference.
UVA hit a buzzer beater against all-black Louisville on the road tonight as well!! Ty Jerome was sensational in leading the Cavs with 21 points.
Mo Wagner and Duncan Robinson had 11 apiece today as the Wolverines held off an upset bid from Iowa in the Big 10 tourney. Interesting that Robinson is again relegated to the "super sixth man" role. I mean, I'd like to see him start, but he's been playing around 30 MPG the last few games, so it doesn't really matter I guess.
Even more criminally, Donte DiVincenzo is again back on the bench after superior athlete Phil Booth became healthy again. DiVencenzo had some HUGE games as a starter, and his reward is going back to the bench I guess. Guess Jay Wright didn't want to be called "racist" for letting a white guy stay in his line-up for too long.
Unless we get some results that are good from a bubble/small conference perspective, it's looking like a VERY dark tournament. It hasn't helped that teams like Iowa, Wisconsin, Notre Dame, Marquette, and Davidson are all currently on the outside. Teams like Butler also aren't playing their white players like they used to anymore, which doesn't help. Hopefully, the Irish and Golden Eagles can go on some big runs in their conference tourneys. However, there are some good white players on the Top teams this year. Grayson Allen (with Jack White and O'Connell off the bench) for Duke, JP Macura, O'Mara and Kanter for Xavier, Virginia's 2/3 white back court and Salt, DiVencenzo and Gillespie for 'Nova, Svi and Lightfoot (who's been carving out 15-20 minutes per game lately) for Kansas, Luke Maye for UNC, Purdue's white contingent, Tillie and Kispert for the Zags, Reaves and Frankamp for the Shockers, and Wagner, Teske, and Robinson for Michigan. The only VERY dark teams without a high-profile white contributor are: Cincy, Texas Tech, Michigan State, Ohio State and Auburn in the top 15. So I guess it's not all bad. There are still a LOT of great white players, they just aren't playing together for the most part, with teams like Virginia and Purdue the exception.
It could be better. It'd be nice if Wisconsin could continue their hot streak in the Big 10. In the ACC, Notre Dame is finally healthy, so hopefully they can make a run in the ACC tourney. Marquette is still on the bubble. If teams like Boise State, Davidson, Belmont, Grand Canyon, Wofford, Vermont, Lipscomb, etc. can win their respective conference tourneys, the Big Dance will be a LOT more palatable.

I figured I'd let you guys know some big games with potential tourney implications and white-friendly teams to watch today with the tournament getting closer.
Belmont vs. Murray State - 8 PM, ESPN2. This is for the Ohio Valley Conference Championship. The Bruins start 4 white players, while Murray State doesn't believe whites can play basketball. The first big caste matchup to decide who gets a tournament bid.
Xavier will be playing DePaul at 12 Eastern - likely on a FOX channel somewhere. The Musketeers do have 3 white players who'll get time, including JP Macura, the most hated player in college basketball this side of Grayson Allen. DePaul actually has two good white players in Max Strus and Marin Maric, but the rest of their team isn't any good.
Michigan (3 white players that get time) vs. Michigan State (2 PM Eastern on CBS)
Creighton vs. Marquette (2:30 PM Eastern on FOX) - as a bubble team, Marquette really needs a win.
Wofford will be playing Mercer. It's a big game, but won't be televised.
Notre Dame vs. Virginia will be on at 4 PM on a regional FOX affiliate I believe. I'd actually like Notre Dame to take this; with Virginia squarely in, the Irish will need some help to get in, and I hope they go on a run this next week.
Purdue vs. Penn State will be on at 4:30 on CBS.
Utah will be playing Colorado at 7 on the Pac-12 Network. Utah (2-3 white starters) is squarely on the bubble right now.
Butler will be playing against all-black Seton Hall. Even though the Bulldogs are not as white friendly as they should be, they still play at least two whites for most of their games. Seton Hall needs no introduction here.
Boise State vs. Wyoming. - The Broncos will likely need to win the Mountain West to make it in, but they don't need to hurt themselves by losing to Wyoming.
Vermont (3-4) white starters vs. Hartford 7 PM. The Catamounts are starting their conference tourney, and can be seen on ESPN's online service.
UCLA is playing USC at 10:15. The Bruins (2 important white starters) are on the bubble and need a win.
Finally, Saint Mary's will be playing Pepperdine at midnight on ESPN2 for any night owls here. The Gaels are in right now, but CANNOT slip up before they meet Gonzaga in the WCC Championship game.
Bubble teams to root against: Louisville, Texas, Alabama, Providence, Syracuse, Washington, Penn State. Nebraska got destroyed by Michigan yesterday, so the all-black Cornhuskers will be on the outside looking in. Utah and Marquette are looked at as being on the wrong side of the bubble, so they're going to need to win a couple more games to be safe. Hopefully, our guys take care of business this week!

Wisconsin went down swinging against heavily favored Michigan State. Ethan Happ had 22 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists, while Brad Davison had 10 points, 5 assists, and 4 boards. If Happ comes back, expect the Badgers to be a Top 25 team again next year.
Davidson knocked off Rhode Island!! The Wildcats are another of our teams that will need to win their conference to make it in, but they certainly have the horses to do so. Peyton Aldridge had 18 and 12 against the all-black Rams; hopefully, the Wildcats can knock them off again.
Belmont destroyed Austin Peay to get into their conference championship against Murray State. Austin Luke had 18 points, 13 assists (to just 13 TOs!!), and 5 boards and Dylan Windler had 14 and 12, while their black starter Egekeze went 9-9 on threes at one point! They're going to need to be a hot shooting squad again tonight, as the referees will no doubt favor the all-black Racers over Belmont, and let them get away with "tough" and "physical" play.
Purdue knocked off all-black Rutgers in the Big 10 tournament. Isaac Haas had 12 and 10, while Dakota Mathias had 9 points and 7 assists to go with his usual lock-down defense.

I was watching a lot of this game today in between golf, and Loyola is such a great team to watch. They are fundamentally sound and play some unselfish basketball. Their three white players who get the bulk of the time are all studs. Custer is the MVC player of the year, Richardson is the Defensive Player of the Year in the MVC, and Krutwig is Freshman of the Year in conference!! Bruno Skokna also got some time off the bench for them too. I think I'll be picking these guys to pull an upset in a couple weeks!
In another win for us, super scorer Garrison Mathews and nearly all-white Lipscomb held off a furious rally by Florida Gulf Coast to get the A-Sun autobid into the tourney!! Mathews had 33 points in the game for the Bisons. Two great conference wins for us today!

Glad Lipscomb and Loyola Chicago were able to punch their tickets to the Big Dance! Earlier I watched Liberty vs Radford. Liberty with 3 white starters fell just short, ended up losing on a buzzer beater. Forward Scottie James was impressive in the loss. 20pts and 14 boards for the 6'7 225 red shirt Sophomore. Looking forward to seeing what he does next year!

Great effort from Liberty; 2/3 small conference wins ain't bad!! Michigan also won it's second straight Big Ten Tournament today!! Mo Wagner was named Most Outstanding Player of the Big 10 Tournament! Wagner had 17 points (leading the team), Jon Teske had a great game today with 14 points, and Duncan Robinson played 30+ minutes off the bench. Gotta give props to Jon Beilien, one of the few genuinely fair and good coaches in the game today.

Martinas Geben had 14 and 10 in a narrow Irish loss to Virginia. I hope this team is able to make a bit of a run.

Boise's Chris Sengfelder had 24 and 7 in a win over Wyoming.
South Dakota State's Mike Daum had 33 points and 19 boards in a Jack's win over Western Illinois in the Summit League Tourney.
Vermont's frontcourt duo of Drew Urquhart and Peyton Henson is continuing to produce. Henson had 21 points, while Urquhart had 10 points and 12 boards in a Catamount win over Maine in the America East Tourney.
South Dakota's Matt Mooney had 20 points, while Nick Fuller had 17 off the bench as the Coyotes destroyed Omaha.

Colgate's Will Rayman had 22 and 7 in a win over Holy Cross in the Patriot League Tournament. They'll be playing Bucknell Wednesday for the right to go dancing.
William and Mary's David Cohn had 24 points, 7 assists, and 6 boards in a win in the CAA Tourney over Towson. Looking at the box score, it looks like the Tribe has 4 white starters and an all-white bench... go Tribe!! With Wofford losing yesterday by 1, I hope William and Mary is able to win the CAA autobid to make up for that.
Northeastern's Vasa Pusic nearly had a triple double with 15 points, 10 assists and 8 boards in a Huskies' win.
North Dakota State's Paul Miller had 29 points, 8 boards, and 2 assists in a Bison win; they'll be playing Daum and South Dakota St. tonight.
Denver's Daniel Amigo had 22 and 11 in a double OT over Oral Roberts in the Summit League Tourney. Denver has 4 white starters, which makes them the whitest team in the tournament. Although I'll still be hoping one of the two South Dakota schools get the bid; they have the star players, and would be more dangerous in the tournament.

Well, St. Mary's lost to BYU last night, and put themselves on the bubble again. Given the committee's previous history, it's a tough call on whether they are making the tourney. Also, BYU is not as white-friendly as they have been. Their best scorers are two black players, and these two seem to have well over 50% of BYU's scoring most nights. Besides TJ Haws and Dalton Nixon (at times), the other white players don't do much in the scoring column, and aren't the best players BYU has ever seen. BYU also has three black starters this year, and coincidentally, they are the only three black players on the team.

Gonzaga's Killian Tillie was impressive again as the Zags destroyed a darker than usual BYU team. Tillie finished with a game high 22 points, with 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and a steal.
Mike Daum and South Dakota State made it to the NCAA tournament! They are much darker than they have been in the past, but still have two white starters (one of the country's best players among them, both of them are two of the team's top 3 players) and 2 whites whom get time off the bench. Despite being in foul trouble, Daum still finished with 25 and 11.
South Dakota's Matt Mooney is a baller in his own right, and he finished with a game high 30 points (on 9-26 shooting though - ouch! He was 9-10 from the line), and also had 7 boards and 4 assists. The Coyotes were actually the whiter team on the night, with 3 white starters who played the bulk of the game and another off the bench who played the 2nd most bench minutes.
Wright State, a team with 4 white starters, punched it's ticket to the Big Dance last night as well!! The Raiders were led by senior guard Grant Benzinger, who had 19 points and 9 boards.
Vermont's Drew Urquhart, in foul trouble for a good portion of the first half in the Catamount's game against Stony Brook, dominated the 2nd half in a Vermont blowout. He finished with 19 points and 8 boards, both team highs. His front court mate Peyton Henson finished with 13 and 5. If Vermont wins Saturday against UMBC, they'll be one of the top mid majors in the field. Hopefully, they won't get matched up with a white-friendly squad out of the gate.

Marquette will be in a must-win game against DePaul on FS1 at 9:30.

Appreciate the updates JL! Caught most of the Fairfield game and came away impressed Nelsons individual performance. Pure scorer, though slight in frame.
Also caught 2nd half of SDSU and was able to witness Daum for 1st time. Again came away very impressed! 6'9 250 big man and a soft touch. Good at free throws as well can't stand watching bigs clank a way easy points! He was crucial to their success down stretch.
Mooney scored 30 and nothing was falling for him! Really grinded it out and helped his team stay competitive 2nd half. He'll be back next year as he's only a JR. Found it interesting he's a transfer from Air Force. If Daum declares Coyotes should be among favorites for Summit League.

No problem, celtic. Glad you find them informative!! I wish Nelson would've worked a little more to get open at the end of the game when his team needed a scorer. Other than that, he did pretty good.

Oklahoma State will be playing Kansas at 2:30 on ESPN2. Their center is out, so it should be Mitch Lightfoot in the starting lineup, giving the Jayhawks 2 white starters.
Creighton will be playing Providence on FS1 at 2:30.
UCLA will likely be playing for a tourney spot against Stanford at 5:30 on the Pac-12 network.
Notre Dame will be playing to fully secure an NCAA Tourney spot against Duke tonight at 7 on ESPN.
Marquette will be playing to secure an NCAA spot against Villanova on FS1 at 7 PM!
Boise State will be playing Utah State at 9 PM on CBS Sports Network.
Utah will be playing Oregon at 11:30. This is a game they'll need if they're going to make it to the NCAA Tourney.
A few stats from yesterday: Matt Farrell had 22 points, 5 assists, and 5 boards as the Irish kept their tourney hopes alive with a massive comeback against all-black Va. Tech. Rex Pflueger had 14 and 9.
Nate Sestina had 16 points, 4 boards, and 2 blocks off the bench for Bucknell as they annihilated Colegate to punch their ticket to the Big Dance.
Oregon State upset nearly all-black Washington to knock the Huskies off the bubble. Drew Eubanks led the Beavers with 19 points and 5 boards, while Tres Tinkle and 12 and 10.
Andrew Rowsey had 25 points, 6 boards, and 3 assists for Marquette in a close win over DePaul. The Blue Demons' Max Strus had 22 and 6 in the losing effort, and Marin Maric had 22 and 10. It's kinda weird; DePaul used to be nearly all-black, and they weren't competitive at all. This year, they have a few white players who are playing, and suddenly they are actually competitive in a lot of their games.
Oregon's Payton Pritchard had 18 points and 6 boards in a Ducks win over Washington State. I wish Pritchard would've went somewhere other than Oregon, but the kid is a stud.

Unfortunately, both Marquette and Notre Dame lost today. I'm hoping the committee at least gets Notre Dame in. The Fighting Irish seem to be one of the few white friendly teams that the media has openly pined for to get into the Big Dance. I think Marquette will be in the NIT, unfortunately, but a couple of brackets have them in. Oklahoma State lost, so they should at least be out. Syracuse lost yesterday too, so they should be done. In my opinion teams like Oklahoma, Alabama, and Texas should not have bids, yet here the media is trying to force them into the tournament.
Hopefully, the all-black Crimson Tide lose tomorrow to finally put their tourney bid to rest.
In a good loss, all-black Middle Tennessee (a frequent Cinderella choice for the media... I wonder why?) lost to the 9 seed in the C-USA tournament, potentially opening the door for 3 white starter Marshall to steal a bid. In more good news, Baylor lost to West Virginia tonight, so they should be relegated to the NIT. Of course, the Bears are nearly all-black.
Boise State's tourney hops got popped tonight, as the Broncos were upset by Utah State and some hot shooting from sophomore guard Sam Merrill, who was knocking down shots all night for the Aggies. The 6'5 sophomore had 28 points, 5 boards, and 5 assists in the upset win. Although Utah State hasn't been the best this year, they've got some nice young talent, and will hopefully be better in the future.

UCLA got a HUGE win over Stanford today. Aaron Holiday (black) and Thomas Welsh were clutch. Holiday had 34, and Welsh had a double double with 18 points and 11 boards. The Bruins should be in the tournament.
Sean McDermott has been playing well for Butler as of late. He had 10 points and 7 boards tonight as the Bulldogs upset nearly all-black Seton Hall.
Grand Canyon freshman Alessandro Lever had 29 points and 5 boards for the Antelopes tonight, keeping GCU's hopes for the WAC autobid alive.
Mitch Ballock had a nice game in a close Creighton loss. He had 12 points, 4 boards, and 2 assists for the Jays today. He's been producing well since he's been elevated to a starting role.
Dusan Ristic had 16 and 11 for Arizona tonight, helping lead the Wildcats to a win over Colorado. The Buffaloes have a couple of good young white players, who should be fun to watch next year. Forward Lucas Siewert is one of them; he was a nice spark off the bench with 16 points.
Kyle Guy and Ty Jerome were outstanding again today, leading Virginia to a nice win over Louisville. Guy had a game-high 19 points to go with a game-high 7 boards. Jerome stuffed the stat sheet with 11 points, 4 assists, 4 boards, and 2 steals.
Andrew Rowsey had 22 in the Marquette loss to Nova.
Martin Geben had 14 and 8, and Matt Ferrell had 11 points and 12(!) assists to just 1 TO in Notre Dame's loss. Grayson Allen was on fire, finishing with 23 points.

It's looking like this is going to be a pretty dark tournament. Vermont, with 4 white starters and a legit chance to win a tournament game, just lost to a team that no doubt pleases ESPN and co. That's on the heels of Belmont (4 white starters) and Boise State (3 white starters) losing as well. Good thing we've got a team like Virginia at the top. You know bubble teams like Notre Dame and Marquette are going to get screwed. Hopefully, Davidson, Marshall, and Grand Canyon can somehow win their conferences. The brackets won't be too much trouble for me to write-up this year from the looks of it.
