The UMASS Minutemen joined the FBS in 2012. Here is the number of white starters per year:
2012 - 9
2013 - 8
2014 -6
2015 - 6
They are projected to start 7 in 2016. UMASS was not renwed in the MAC and are now an independent. One would think the light would go off that the roster they assembled was not full of the best players to put the most competitive team on the field but it looks like they are still a very caste oriented team even though they have not done much with all the affletes on the team.
Players to look out for:
QB Ross Cosmis,WR Andy Isabella, TE Todd Stafford, LT Joe Parsons, LG LUkas Kolter, C Derek Dumas, RG Dan Nicola, RT Jake Largay, DT Joe Previte, LB Lucas Amato
They have a monster Redshirt Freshman QB James Sosinski. Not sure what his story is but he is 6'7 260lbs. It will be interesting to see if he becomes there starter down the road.
