Since '05, Penn State has had 8, 10, 9, 8, 12, 10,8,10, 9, 10 and 8 white players. In 2016 they are projected to start 8 whites again.

Franklin apparently does not appreciate the tradition of White LBs that Penn State has produced over the years amongst other things. I am glad Hackenberg got out of there a year early.


Players to watch out for are QB Tommy Stevens, LB Jake Cooper, DE Ryan Buchholz, DT Robert Windsor, DE Evan Schwan

There is something wrong in God's universe when Penn State doesn't have a white starting linebacker. Well, the black starting middle linebacker is now out for the year, so it looks like, based on the depth chart that now at least Cooper is starting at one linebacker position, and also Brandon Smith at another. Plus Schwan is being listed as co-starter. Will have to see how things sort themselves out, but at least one new white starter in the mix.
