This is great news. Like mastermulti said it's too bad Brunos family didn't stay in Australia. Spain has a young
sprinter on the verge of being world class. Outstanding time by Bruno and Hassan Taftian too. Hassan has
really been consistant. I too feel he is getting close to a sub 10. Even Smelyk ran a good time. Must have been
really good sprinting conditions.

Does anyone have a video of the race? I would love to watch it.

Thanx for posting the races. Very exciting. Taftian didn't get a very good start in the final, but came back nicely. A good start and slight bit more wind, and he could've broken 10.00 today. It would be interesting to know more about his ethnicity. I love to see all non Africans break the caste.

And Hortelano! Talk about out of nowhere. He's the top guy now, even ahead of Reus.

I don't really care for these Olympic years because it seems like our people put all their effort into peaking for the one event at the end of the summer. I would rather see more a more relaxed, fun attitude and more frequency.

Hortelano also has a PB of 20.47 from 2013 and a SB of 20.48 this year, so one to keep an eye on over 200m as well.

With his training focused a bit towards 200 and with a few 200 runs under his belt he should revise this substantially with his much improved speed.

today of 10.03 wind legal A new p.b. and national record. Again you guys doubt my prediction of him being
capable of a sub 10. He ran 10.07 legal 2 weeks ago and 10.03 today. Yet I guarantee you guys will still say
he won't do it. So much negativity here. Let's support this kid. He is amazing to watch!

wow great 100m, too bad the video work wasn't from the stands would have been able to actually see all of the 100 and 200m. On a side note I do not think I have ever heard a track announcer get so wired over a 20.23 200m race

Nice times but what kind of meet is this, no stands, cars and stacked hurdles right up against the tracks edge, seemingly in the middle of a forest. It looks like a practice track.
I don't get excited when Reus and other Germans post these quick times in "domestic" races. When they can run these times outside the "friendly" confines of home cooked meets, then I will pay attention.

Great news WL. I wish him well.
I want to see him perform like this against international competition which hasn't been the case up till now.

Our Aussie female 100 record holder (Melissa Breen 11.11) under performs EVERY single trip overseas. Her head is so weak in competition I get embarrassed seeing her running for my country, seemingly just to collect the track suit.
I don't want to see Reus in that position. Ok then. Another one for me to note in Amsterdam next week. I'll endeavour to keep notes on our sprint athletes as they compete - not just times but demeanor etc

I would rather see a relaxed, confident Reus get a sub 10.00 in some local meet, than tie up in a big one with a bunch of Jamaicans and Americans and get a 10.20. We need to pile up some sub 10s so our guys build more confidence.

Apparently this meet was at a little country town called Zeulenroda over towards the Czech border.
I guess he saw conditions might be good for a time after last week's 10.30 into a decent wind in National Championships

5 minutes ago i watched live as Jack Hale (18years 1month) just did a big PR in Mannheim.
Only a first round heat but 10.21 (1.6).

Wow what a weekend so far. So many of our guys are running fast. Jack Hale and Kristoffer
Hari are both gonna be names we talk about for many years from now. They are both only 18
years of age and man can they fly.

The English National Champs are this weekend too along with the French Champs.

Unfortunately, at the British Championships Kilty was 6th and Robertson 8th.

Jack Hale's race link, interesting he ran it on a wet track...

Despite the positive wind Jack Hale ran this time of 10.21 on a very wet track. He almost stumbled
and fell at the end of the race. Outstanding time and good international experience for the youngster.
Jack Hale so far looks like the real deal. He sure is powerful He has a J.Reus type build. Short & powerful.

First off let's be fare to Richard Kilty. He raced in a slightly windy UK Champs 100 Meters Final where 3 guys went sub 10. Any of our guys would struggle to look good with the sprinters he was lined up against. Kilty ran a 10.05! I wouldn't call that a horrible performance. He has won at the highest level as he was the World Indoor 60 Meters Champ. Phenomenal for anyone to acheive yet a poor kid from England. Let's give this kid some props. He did ok but he was in the fastest race ever ran in a UK Championship ever! I tip my hat to him.

I won't touch on Teeters too much since he is still in college.

Julian Reus will go sub 10. Been saying it for a couple of years. Just a matter of time. That is close to his limit though as I don't see him ever going sub 9.90 at his age but hope Im wrong. He has been the pride of Germany for almost a decade though and he is getting young kids over there dreaming of being the next Reus. Can't ask for much more than that!

I do agree that Lemaitre is the cream of the crop. Guliyev 2nd but it's anyones guess if they ever hit that top elite level again that we know they are both capable of. Hope to see some fireworks at the European Championships!

I've always noted both for their relatively long torso to leg length. Great gearing for starts and initial acceleration perhaps but "white man's curse" for finishing speed?
Fortunately this generalization doesn't apply across the board.

Any thoughts on this out there?
