2016 Outdoor Track Season

One thing I will say is that ...some athletes perform better not racing as much ....ie the athlete must feel the pressure and nerves for them to perform at a high level ...this is also a motivational aspect ....fresh is the ultimate when it comes to sprinting .....( when drugs are not involved )

Teeters is on the start list for the 100m at the Big 12.
He's run only one 100m race this season so far. Not sure if he's been injured.
His indoor season wasn't as good as last year's and he disappointed in the finals at the Big 12 Championships earlier this year.
Fingers crossed that he can do much better this weekend.

Here is tonights heat number 3 where John Teeters and Sam Watts are both running in. I hope
this is wrong but it looks like Teeters is stuck on the outside lane. What a joke.

Heat 3 Prelims
1
2 Malik Wilson SO Baylor
3 Nick Albus FR K-State
4 Jomal Wiltz JR Iowa State
5 Arlando Brewer-Johnson SO OK State
6 Sam Watts SR TCU
7 Malik Givens FR OK State
8 Andrew Hudson FR Texas Tech
9 John Teeters JR OK State

Teeters and Watts along with Zach Bilderbach run in the 200m prelims later in the evening after the 100m.

Steffan Brits of South Africa and Florida State won the ACC long jump - 26' 11.75"
Corey Crawford of Rutgers wins the Big 10 long jump - 26' 0.25"
Robert Grant 49.44 for 2nd at the SEC Championships in the 400m hurdles.
Julian Reus 20.41 (2.0) in Clermont, Florida.

Hannah Cunliffe is the leading qualifier at the Pac 12 Championships with a time of 11.08.
Another qualifier for the final is Oregon Duck, Danielle Barbian, a transfer from Harvard.
I wish Mary Beth Sant was still at Oregon. That would be 3 fast white girls on the Duck team. And Jenna Prandini had another year of eligibility . . . what could have been!
Still, 2 in the finals is pretty good!

In the same meet Devon Allen ran a 13.32 U.S. Leading to win the 110 hurdles. Man this kid is fast.

He also qualified in the 100m, and is running the 200m and the relay - wow! What a workhorse!

Jenna Prandini with a big win at the Cayman Invitational over some big names - 11.16.

John Teeters and Sam Watts go 1 and 2 in their heat at the Big 12 Championships: 10.26 and 10.27.
I hope Teeters is just saving himself.
It's not a great time given the 3.3 wind.

He came 2nd in the 200m.

Hannah Cunliffe won the Pac 12 100m in a time of 11.08 - no wind. I believe Jenna Prandini won it last year.
Hannah was also part of Oregon's relay team which won the 4 x 100m.
Later today she runs the 200m.

I'm so proud of Hannah Cunliffe. She has really become an elite sprinter. Many child starts don't live up to the hype
as they become adults. They tend to peak too early and the pressure/expectations places on them is too much. Not
the case with Hannah. Very good win. I would love to see her represent Italy in the future if she isn't on our olympic
team someday. So talented not to mention she is also very beautiful.

Hannah also won the 200m in a record breaking time of 22.49!
This is a Pac 12 Championship meet record, breaking Jenna Prandini's previous mark of 22.60.
Hannah is the real deal - another Jenna Prandini!
And a nod to the Oregon coaches who aren't afraid to recruit and train (very well I might add) white sprinters.
Wow!

In the same meet Devon Allen ran a 13.32 U.S. Leading to win the 110 hurdles. Man this kid is fast.
Meanwhile, Devon Allen took 1st in the 200m (20.88) and 3rd in the 100m (10.48)!
Another Wow!
Again credit to the Oregon coaches for believing in these white athletes.

Here's Hannah's races from the Pac 12 Championships.

Right now, 3 of the top 5 fastest women in the world are white women -

2/ Dafne Schippers 10.83
4/ Jenna Prandini 10.95
5/ Hannah Cunliffe 10.99

This is unprecedented!
