60 Meter Times are not always indicative to running Sub 10. Look at Kilty with many Sub 6.50's...If you don't have that Natural Top end speed, running sub 10 is very difficult. I don't think Teeters or Reus will get Sub 10. Maybe 10.03 or so, thats about it. They don't have that natural spring in their step and acceleration after 50 meters. I think Guliyev can get to Sub 10 if he gets the right guidance, maybe a trip to France under Caraz will help :) Kidding...But Guiliyev has potential to hit Sub 10. Regarding Lemaitre.... I'm about to enjoy a nice dinner and don't want it ruined. thanks.

Kilty has only one sub 6.50. But, yes, a quick 60 time by no means implies the ability or expectation to go sub 10

Teeters will run a sub 10 this year. Reus will not. What surprised me is Gemilli doing it. The dude is only 5'5" tall. Teeters is 6'3". He will get there but probably not by much.

I agree about Teeters and that he will go sub 10 but I disagree about Reus. The guy has run sub 10.10 around 3 or 4 times. In the right conditions he will dip under the 10 seconds mark.

Reus is good don't get me wrong. He just does not run with a lot of power. Just think if Lemaitre ever perfected his start. He would be running sub 9.9. I hope Reus can do it. I just don't see it though I am the idiot 2 years ago that said Gemilli would never do it. Hope for the best expect the.... .

Gemeli is taller than 5ft 5 inches.
I don't know how tall he is, but in photos standing next to other sprinters, he's not that short.
I would say he's 5ft 8" or 5ft 9"

I saw a one of his races last year and the announcers said he is 5'5". Maybe I am wrong but he definitely is on the short side of things with amazing spped albeit.

I predict 9.94 for Teeters and 9.97 for Kilty. Kilty proved he has enough top speed by hanging with Ashmeade (sub 10.00 and 20.00 sprinter) in the London 150 meters.

Teeters will go below 9.94 if he gets that special day. Of course, he has to stay healthy.

Reus could hit a 9.98 if he runs in Germany. If he has competition, he totally chokes up. Against his countrymen, he will be relaxed and supremely confident.

Lemaitre, well, he's a cautionary tale. Born with the best genetics, but . . ., well, everyone here knows the story.

Double gold for Schippers. I see Guliyev making the final with a PB. The Australian kid will get sub 10.10 before the season is out.

I don't know. He looks shorter, but not 5' 5" short.
Gemili probably is around 5'8- 5'9....the 5'5" probably was never updated since Gemili been on the scene since he was 18. At 18, I grew 4 inches....in other news, dont take this wrong way, but if you look closely at that pic, Richard Kilty destroys the myth of Blacks being more... uhumm... 'Well endowed'

I agree that Guiliyev has sub-10 potential, but his start is terrible and he is focused on the 200m, so I don't think he will get there.
I don't know if Teeters, Reus, or Kilty will either. I just think that by the end of the year Gemeli and Kilty will have the fastest times of the white sprinters - which was the case in 2015.
No Teeters is right there guys. He may need "friendly" circumstances ie a hot humid day with a nice tailwind but he can easily become a sub ten guy. I reckon if he turned pro and ran in South Africa at some of their altitude meets he would have the milestone already.

Julian Reus still has the fastest mens 60 time in all of Europe and he is my pick to go sub 10 this summer. Here
is a good article about the subject. I'm still suprised so many of you here doubt him. He will do it before this summers
olympics in my honest opinion. I wish I could be on it. I feel that strongly about it.

I don't think he or Teeters has the ability to go sub 10, I just don't see it. Hopefully Im wrong. Lemaitre still has a far shot but highly unlikely for obvious reasons. Guiliyev, if he focuses on the 100 like he does the 200, much more possible.

This is how I rate them currently in the 100m:
1/Gemeli - obvious #1. Ran sub-10 last season.
2/Kilty - World and Euro Champ in the 60m. Has been running longer races to improve his finishing speed.
3/Teeters - Ran 9.95 last year with 2.6 wind. Runs consistent, good times at 60m and 100m.
4/Lemaitre - immensely talented, woefully trained and conditioned. Still manages to perform decently once or twice/season.
5/Guilyev - ran 19.88 200m last season. Rarely runs 100m and has a terrible start.
6/Reus - runs well in German meets, but not internationally.

I can see an argument for Kilty and Teeters swapping spots, but Kilty has much more experience and especially championship experience than Teeters.
I can also see an argument for Guilyev and Reus swapping spots, but Guilyev is a more proven performer recently than Reus.

Exciting start to the weekend. First off, Julian Reus runs another 6.53 today for the 2nd time this year to equal the German Record. He is ready for that sub 10 this summer. Believe it gentlemen.

In Glasgow, Dafne Schippers won in a time of 7.10. Swoboda took a very close 3rd. As for the men, Richard Kilty didn't have the best start. He took 2nd in a seasons best time of 6.57! He looks to be in very good shape. Adam Gemeli was back around the middle of the pack. I would love to see Kilty win the World Indoors Championships again. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Here's a new guy from Britain, 19 year old Kyle De Escofet.
He just set a new PB (personal best) of 6.71 in Austria.
Never heard of him before, but hopefully will be hearing a lot from him in the future.

Kyle De Escofet, a 19 year old from Britain, is now down to 6.67 in the 60 meters.
That puts him in the Top 20 in Europe.

It blows my mind how many more white sprinters and jumpers Britain has vs. the USA!
If they were to go head-to-head, white Britain vs white USA in the sprints, hurdles, and jumps, Britain would completely annihilate America!! and that's not an exaggeration.

It's amazing really. They are a very small country, and they have plenty of blacks participating in track, but that doesn't preclude whites from also participating and excelling.
More evidence of the caste system in the US.

I'm excited about many of the young lads in England and also in Australia. None of these guys will be a factor until 2020 on the world stage but the future looks bright. Oliver Bromby is another english sprinter to watch.

Hey jacknyc. What do you think of Jack Hale? Can you see him taking it to the next level in another 3 or 4 years. He is
very explosive. I have mixed feelings about his potential but as usual I'm hoping for the best.

What's interesting about Jack Hale is that the long jump has been his main event. So he's just come to sprinting as a sideline to his other event. That's the way Dafne Schippers got started. She was a heptathlete, who became a sprinter almost by accident.
I really don't know much about Hale, but I think the next 2 years will tell us whether he can make it as a sprinter.
He's 17 yrs old right now - the equivalent of a high school senior. As you know, many guys peak at that age. We've seen lots of promising HS sprinters just fall to the wayside and never progress once they get to college.
I think at 18 and 19 yrs of age, is usually when young sprinters make the jump up to the really fast times. So maybe next year we'll know what kind of sprinter he will be.
Right now, it's too soon to say, but I'm hoping he continues to progress. I will say, the fact that he is new to sprinting is a good sign (which sadly reminds me of Curtis Godin)

21 year old Carlos Nascimento is making some progress towards the top tier of European sprinters.
He recently ran a 6.63, which puts him 13th on the European list.
He is the 2nd youngest of top 15 sprinters.

Andrew Robertson 6.54 was second in British Championships - a big PR from 6.61 a few years back. (Dasaolu won in 6.53). Kilty DQed. NOTE: from a Twitter feed so will need to be confirmed.
