It sounds like they aren't going to drop Ohio St. out. Alabama plays in an overrated, soft SEC and no one bats an eye. Clemson is staying in. They are trying to decide between Washington and PSU. It is absolutely rigged to a certain extent.

I liked Wisconsin as well - I believe the Wisconsin front seven can hold up vs Alabama. Wisco's affletes in the secondary lost that game for them.
Yea I just thought psu had a legit shot after last night. They did beat osu so in my opinion should get the nod. Their losses came early in the season. The playoff was supposed to select the best teams right now and one or two losses wasn't supposed to hurt your chances as much. It's ********.

McSorely torched the secondary. I didn't really follow PSU much this year since Hackenberg has gone and I don't like Franklin but McSorely has really come along. Wisconsin's reliance on the run game rather than developing a quality passing attack to compliment the run can have negative effects like we saw tonight. Wisconsin still had a hell of a season and were a fun team to watch. Chryst needs to start developing the passing game more with Hornibrook as a focal point rather than compliment of the offense.
I've said that before too. Both Iowa and Wisconsin need to develop their QBs more. I don't know what the deal is with that. Ruddock goes to Michigan last year after losing out to Beathard and looks like a pro. I don't know if Iowa and Wisconsin have a coach that's dedicated just to QBs or if it falls under their OC. Either way, they've got to get that fixed. It's truly what's holding back both teams from getting to the championship level.

One good thing to come out of the Penn St/Wisconsin game was McSorely. I didn't see that one coming. So, at least there's another White QB now to root for and to take away some of the contrived and over-hyped attention the Caste media devotes to their beloved black quarterbacks. As expected, Franklin is turning Penn State dark, if their 2107 class is any indication, so last night is the Whitest you'll see that team for who knows how long. Hopefully, Franklin will jump to the NFL.

Agreed. Penn St beat Ohio St, and won the conference.. but it felt like none of that moved the committee. Their decision basically rendered winning the Big Ten meaningless.
At least before a Final Four, winning the Big Ten was a meaningful stepping stone, earning u a trip to a (previously revered) Rose Bowl.

Can we all agree that a 4 team playoff is just plain stupid?! FCS has expanded to 24 teams, but the idiots running FBS limits the playing field to 4 hand picked teams who have they right prestigious background and $$. It's all about marketing, they didn't want Wisconsin or Penn St over Michigan or Ohio St simple as that. It's definitely rigged, just like the Heisman is! After1 game this year the award is Lamar Jackson's! Last year McCaffrey shatters Barry Sanders all purpose yards but loses to Bama's Derrick Henry. I thought Heisman was for best player, not best team. Like anything the system is crooked and those in charge manipulate it to get the results they want. End of rant.

The fact the conference championship played no role in the big ten should disqualify it in the future. The Big 12 has been roundly criticized for no conference championship game and has decided to bring it back starting next year just to see that it had no impact on the college playoff. The committee has way to much of a human bias and lacks any adherence to the standards it imposes on the power 5 conferences.

It's a moot point now but Ohio st. was not nearly as dominant as the committee makes them out to be. Oklahoma was a much better team at the end of the year than the beginning, the favorable calls vs. Michigan, squeaking by a bad Spartans team, struggling against Northwestern should of all been taken into account.

Great post. It is all about marketing and sticking to the narrative and caste storyline that the sports media complex lays out at the beginning of the season.

I actually figured Ohio State was a lock given their schedule. My biggest problem is Washington over Penn State. I know the biggest hurdle is a two loss Penn State vs a one loss Wash but I think the Pac 12 was way down this year ( where was a good outside conference win by a Pac 12 team and the one big game they had vs USC they got beat soundly. Wash played three powder puff out of conference teams and I mean these three teams hell Alabama's cheerleading squad might have been able to put up a bigger fight. Penn State lost to Pitt early in the year a game they could have won but it turns out Pitt was pretty good (they knocked off Clemson). Yeh they got blown out by Michigan early in the year but Washington pretty much got pushed around by USC. Penn State has been playing great ball of late and lit up Wisconsin in the second half which is no small chore when you consider Wisc has the second best D in the country!!!! But the real cherry on top for Penn State was beating Ohio State the best win by any team this year. Penn State's D line manhandled Ohio State in that game. Besides playing in the best conference the Big Ten, athletic quick twitch QB mercurial leader McSorely was not even considered for the Heisman. Instead they invited a Michigan defensive back which is bewildering to me. Penn State's best out of conference win was against caste boring Temple. Temple eventually won their conference with an impressive win over red hot Navy. If Bama crushes Washington which I think they will and Penn State handles USC in a great Rose Bowl matchup the playoff committee is going to look pretty foolish. The media loves Washington because they have a caste offense with a speedy black wide receiver ( Ross ). Clemson almost lost against Va Tech but WR Hunter Renfrow bailed them out with a key brilliant clutch 4th quarter 3rd down catch. Later on Renfrow scampered in for the TD on a clever pitch/pass play. I love DE Hubbard of Ohio State but I will be rooting for Clemson in a game that is tough to figure. Clemson's D has had lapses this year but they have a potent offense.
