Since 05' Stanford has started 11, 14, 14, 14, 15, 14,13, 9, 9 &12 white players. This season they look to start 14 once again after a 5 year hiatus!

However.... an *asterisk will be put by talented Free Safety Zach Hoffpauir's name...though an NFL-caliber DB; this two-sport athlete was recently selected in the 22nd Round of MLB Draft by the Diamondbacks...negotiations are currently underway...if the $$ 's are right he may not be back to football; got a concussion scare last season vs. Oregon that is making him think of possible new career path?

Other Two-Sport athlete's from Stanford that opted for Football were John Elway; John Lynch; Toby Gerhart & Tyler Gaffney

Last season we caught some glimpses of the versatile Electric-playmaker Tailback Christian McCaffrey...as a true freshman his very 1st Career play was a 52-yard TD catch in the season opener where his 4.4 speed was on display! They gradually used him more as the season progressed; ending up with 7.1 avg. per carry (300 yards on 42 carries) & 17 rec. for 251 yards & 2 TD's...he also had some punt & kick returns! Look for plenty of explosive plays in McCaffrey's sophomore season even with RB-by-committee approach! The main benefit being keeping him fresh for his Future NFL Career!

FRESHMAN to WATCH...WR-Trent Irwin...excellent speed & size should see playing time early!

Top back up's Back-up QB Keller Cryst; TE-Eric Cotton...WR Connor Crane entering his Senior season has been a disappointment thus far in his career...hopefully he can finally make an impact?

*OFFENSE* (9)
QB-Kevin Hogan
RB-Christian McCaffrey
FB-Daniel Marx
WR-Devon Cajuste
TE-Austin Hooper
LT-Kyle Murphy
C-Graham Shuler
RG-Johnny Caspers
RT-Casey Tucker

The Stanford Defense has been Caste-friendly over the years producing talents like Chase Thomas; Trent Murphy(Redskins); Henry Anderson(Colts rookie/3rd Round) & AJ Tarpley(Bills/rookie UDFA). This season LB-Blake Martinez returns as Leading Tackler; will be the difference maker with his combination of size (6'-2" 247) speed & instincts!

*DEFENSE* (5)
DT-Nate Lohn
DE-Harrison Phillips
ILB-Blake Martinez
OLB-Kevin Anderson
FS-*Zach Hoffpauir (MLB?)

Back-up's on the 2-deep...OLB-Joey Alfieri; OLB-Mike Tyler ILB-Craig Jones; SS-Dallas Lloyd(ex-QB)

Yes! Caste Buster of the year once again. It's amazing to me that the media and dwf's refuse to acknowledge why Stanford has been on such a successful run since 2009.

Really looking forward to seeing them dominate the PAC 12. They have a real shot at winning it all this year. I hope Hogan has made some tweaks to his throwing mechanics and will improve his draft stock as a QB as well.

I hope Zach plays this season. I don't think the 22nd round of the MLB draft is all that lucrative money wise. He stood out when watching stanford play last year. He seemed to make more plays than the two black dbs selected in this years draft.

I hope Hogan did some work on his passing game. It's interesting to see all these college qbs (mostly black) going to these supposed qb gurus who all seem to be black as well. I wonder if Hogan has gone to one, I think that hitch in his throwing motion will be the what all the commentators, dwfs and supposed draft experts will use to criticize him.
I also hope Shaw lets him air it out and trust him to run the offense. As a prospect he plays in the type offense that translates to the NFL. I think he is a sleeper pick for Pac 12 player of the year and a very early Heisman dark horse. Stanford should win the Pac 12.

Last year in his freshman year Christian McCaffrey was amazing. They lined him up everywhere and he averaged 6.5 yard per rush. Ran for touchdowns and he made plays all over the field as a true freshman.

Many here may remember the Sam McGuffie Mix Tape from his high school days. Dare I say that Christian McCaffrey is faster. He has top flight speed. He just may be the fastest player in the nation. Check out his high school senior hilites from 2 years ago. It's like everyone else is in slow motion.

Stanford's official depth chart came out today:

OFFENSE
----------
QB Kevin Hogan
LT Kyle Murphy
C Graham Shuler
RG Johnny Caspers
RT Casey Tucker
TE Dalton Schultz (starter in two tight end sets)
TE Austin Hooper
WR Devon Cajuste (Co-starter with Francis Owusu)
RB Christian McCaffrey
FB Daniel Marx

Cajuste was expected to be the full-time starter, but was injured much of fall camp, so he will share #1 duties with Owusu
Hooper had a great camp and drew comparisons to both Ertz and Fleener from Shaw
Marx was also very impressive in camp and earned rave reviews from Shaw for both his size and speed. So much so, Shaw wants to split him out as an H-back in some sets and get him some touches.
McCaffrey said he is both faster and stronger...adding about seven pounds of muscle. I hope he stays healthy. White players have to walk a very thin line, not only in behavior but with injuries as well.

DEFENSE
-----------
DT Harrison Phillips
ILB Blake Martinez
OLB Kevin Anderson

Can't wait for Stanford this year. It stinks Hoffpauir chose baseball but it's still great to see a team fielding that many white players. They are my favorites to win the PAC 12.

Don't blame him it's a smarter and safer career choice.

Oh for sure. I don't blame him at all. It was a good decision for himself but it just stinks not being able to see him on the football field. In any Stanford game I watched last year he usually made a nice play/big hit.

Harrison Phillips out for the year with a torn acl :icon_sad:
I noticed after about the first quarter that he wasn't in there playing. Their defense became shaky with his absence. Hopefully he will apply for and get a medical redshirt.

Hogan's throwing motion will be the what all the commentators, dwfs and supposed draft experts will use to criticize him..

Hogan is legit.. and yeah I've seen some of the unfair, hyper-critical scouting of his throwing motion, and (inexplicably) his accuracy. The kid completed 2/3rds of his passes last year, 61% the preceding season. Hogan completed almost 80% of his passes (& zero INTs) tonight in road win vs. SC. Amazing that some of these scouts can continue to collect paychecks.
I also went and looked at Hogan's career TDs, they're double his career picks. Which should dispel some of his alleged accuracy issues, but..

Anyone else watch the SC-Stanford game tonight.. Hogan was consistently threading the needle.. hitting receivers on their hands. He completed a goal-line pass with a Trojan defender draped like a cape on his receiver, also capable of shaking pass rushers like Big Ben. Impressive game, & he has the collegiate career & size to be a good pro prospect.

Hogan looked great tonight - he is making the dud at Northwestern look like a distant memory. Stanford as a whole was really clicking on offense - they are alot of fun to watch - it was great to see them beat the very black USC team ( Kessler impressed me though and they had two white LBs on defense).

Nice gif showing dominant lead blocking by backup QB Chryst with RB McCaffrey reading and reacting to it perfectly, and without hesitation, then exploding down the sideline...

But remember what the sportscucksters said on ABC during Stanford's game against USC..."he's not a real running back"...

Yeah, McCaffrey has an uphill battle in the Heisman race. On the front nine he was being overshadowed by Fournette, now on the back nine, he's getting overshadowed by Alabama's Henry. But if you look objectively at the stats.. McCaffrey is leading the entire country in all-purpose yards (as of middle November). He's leading Henry by over 100 yards per game.. and is on a pace to break Barry Sanders' incredible yard record (from Sanders' Heisman season).

My opinion, McCaffrey is the legit front runner for the Heisman.. & he is finally, & seemingly, getting some traction in the public eye. The excuse has been he's invisible bcuz of late West Coast start times :)tsk:).. maybe (?), but it's hard to reduce it simply to that rationale when USC has produced a club of Heisman winners.

I meant to make the same point a few days ago but forgot. Yes, interesting how that works, huh? When Reggie Bush won the Heisman in 2005, I don't remember a whole lot of talk about lack of exposure due to playing times on the West coast. Yet there is with McCaffrey and yet McCaffrey has already bested Bush's all-purpose yardage amount for the year he won the Heisman.

Here is a new article on McCaffrey and his record breaking season. Remember guys that he is only a sophmore. Super sophmore would be more fitting. Hope he is at least top 3 for the heisman. In a fair world he wins it going away but we know that won't happen. I doubt he wins. I would be shocked but hoping I'm wrong. Here is the link.

Hopefully Christian's father Ed has schooled his sons (Christian and Max) on the racial dynamics of the big-time college football programs, the NFL, and the media. Ed McCaffrey is a great example of a very talented White receiver who, in spite of being drafted in the third round, the rare White receiver to even be drafted, nonetheless had to serve a ridiculously long racial apprenticeship. If he had been treated fairly instead of having to wait until his sixth season and third NFL team to become a starter, his bust would be in Canton.

I've always thought Toby Gerhart wasn't psychologically prepared to play in the NFL. He comes from a semi-rural type background and Stanford's football program is considerably more sheltered from racial realities than most given its academic standards. Easy going Toby had to have been shocked in his first Vikings training camp when his black defensive "teammates" hit him as hard as they could, while mangina coach Brad Childress did nothing about it.

BTW, do we have a Christian McCaffrey thread started yet? He certainly deserves more than to just be part of Stanford's team thread.
