Here is a list of new starting Qbs in 2015. Players on this list may have started games last year but did not start the season atop their respective QBs depth chart.

1. Mike Bercovici Arizona St: There is a buzz around Arizona St. this year and alot of it has to do with Bercovici being named the starting QB. He was very productive and displayed one of the strongest arms in college football when playing in place of an injured Taylor Kelly.

2. Seth Russell Baylor: Every QB since RGMe has been better and more prolofic at Baylor. Look for Russell to continue to the tradition. He played very well when Petty was injured last season and is more of a dual-threat than the media want you to believe (4.5 40).

3.Mason Rudolph Oklahoma St: Played really well last season as a true freshman when injuries fored him into the starting lineup. He is going to be an exciting player to watch the next 2-3 years in college football. Has first round potential.

4.Skyler Howard WVU: When Trickett went down last year due to concussions Howard came in and played very well in Holgerson's offense. I caught a couple of his games and he really is reminsicent of a Johnny Manziel lite.

5.Kyle Allen Texas A&M: Replaced the black quarterback Kenny Hill last year as a true freshman. He had some growing pains but overall played very well considering he was an 18 year old freshman. He did a good job carving up SEC defenses. That experience should help him become one of the top QBs in what is supposedly the best conference.

6. Josh Rosen UCLA: Highly regarded big time recruit was named the started last week. He is big, strong and confident. Being thrown into the fire as a true freshman should do wonders for him down the road. Another player that we should have high hopes for.

7.Ryan Finley Boise St: A new QB is at the helm of the Boise St. offense. They are a perennial team to root for and it is nice to see Finley take the helm.

8.Baker Mayfield Oklahoma: He is replacing the talented, athletic but inconsistent Trevor Knight after sitting out a year when transferring over to Texas Tech.

9.Thomas Sirk Duke: Athletic, dual threat QB finally gets his shot in an increasingly coal black ACC conference. Let's hope he takes the conference by storm.

10. Connor Mitch South Carolina: Another white SEC QB. Spurrier fields pathetically black teams year and year out but has been friendly to white QBs who have all put up good numbers in his system. Hopefully Mitch takes the SEC east by storm.

Others to watch: Will Grier Florida, Nick Stevens Colorado St., Brice Ramsey UGA, Sean Maguire Florida St., Chad Kelly Ole Miss, Jake Coker Alabama

Chad Kelly named starter at Ole Miss and Greyson Lambert at Georgia. I hope the Kelly kid keeps his head on straight. He showed some serious talent while at Clemson.

Good news! I was pulling for him. I hope he has a strong year carving up those coal sec defenses with the supposed best players in the country on them. Same for Lambert.

Florida just named Treon Harris as the starter. He must have improved a lot since last year to start ahead of Will Grier, saw him play in high school in n.c. He really is a dual threat qb, not just a pocket passer.

Is he the full time starter or just starting the first game? I heard Grier will play as well on Saturday.

You are right, both players are supposed to play Sat. I Just jump to the conclusion Harris would get the most reps.

Jim Kelly says nephew, Ole Miss QB Chad Kelly, has 'special' arm
BY DAVID BRANDT

Associated PressSeptember 17, 2015 Updated 3 hours ago

OXFORD -- Just before Chad Kelly left for Ole Miss to embark on his best and probably last chance at becoming a successful college quarterback, he was throwing a football around during a workout with his uncle: Jim Kelly.

Within seconds, the Pro Football Hall of Famer who led the Buffalo Bills to four Super Bowl appearances had a pair of stinging hands.

"After I caught five or six passes I finally had to say `Chad, take it easy on uncle Jim."' Kelly said with a laugh.

"He has an arm that is very special."

But as Chad Kelly has found out, there is a much more to being a great quarterback than possessing a rocket right arm and a famous family name.

After a three-year odyssey that included a fair share of bad decisions, the 21-year-old Kelly has re-emerged at Ole Miss and is now preparing for the biggest game of his career when the 15th-ranked Rebels (2-0) travel to face No. 2 Alabama (2-0) on Saturday.

"Sometimes kids think they know it all," Jim Kelly told The Associated Press. "Chad's like a lot of other kids. Sometimes your mom, dad or uncle have advice and you think you know better. It's part of maturing -- how much do you really want this?"

So far, the younger Kelly has made the most of his opportunity.

Through two games, he's completed nearly 73 percent of his passes for 557 yards, six touchdowns and an interception. He also has the best passer efficiency rating in the Southeastern Conference.

It's been quite the renaissance for a once highly recruited quarterback who was booted from Clemson's team in 2014 following an argument with coaches during the spring game.

Kelly transferred to East Mississippi Community College, where he was an All-American and led the program to a national title.

He was signed by Ole Miss in December, but almost immediately put his second chance in jeopardy after he was arrested following a fight at a Buffalo nightclub. He eventually pleaded guilty to a non-criminal charge of disorderly conduct.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze still brought Kelly to Oxford, but made it known he had reservations.

So far, so good. Though no one is claiming victory yet.

"Chad seems to be really, really grounded," Freeze said. "He is extremely hungry to be coached and do well. So, yes, it is always a concern of mine but so far I am confident he has his head in the right place."

Kelly readily acknowledges that his attitude wasn't great at Clemson and he ignored some good advice. He said he's tried to be much more receptive to Freeze and Ole Miss quarterbacks coach Dan Werner.

"They've done a great job helping me become more of a listener than a talker," Kelly said.

Freeze was immediately aware of Kelly's arm strength from the first time he saw him throw. After watching the quarterback for several months, he's also been impressed by his endless desire to watch film.

Kelly said he's already watched both games Alabama has played this season and spent part of his summer watching all the Tide's games from last season. Multiple teammates say they'll find him in the film room at odd hours.

"Chad studies more film than I do," Freeze said.

Said Kelly: "I just love watching football. If I could watch football 24/7, I would."

Outside of the film study, it's Kelly's deep passes that have drawn the most rave reviews. Tight end Evan Engram said Kelly "can launch it out the stadium," giving the Rebels a potent deep threat that opens up the rest of the offense.

Count Alabama coach Nick Saban among those who are impressed, praising Kelly's athleticism and accuracy throwing the football.

"I'm sure they're very pleased with the job that he's done," said Saban, who also recruited Kelly. "He's really a good quarterback."

Jim Kelly thinks so, too. After years of Chad wearing Jim's jersey, the 55-year-old is now on the lookout for an Ole Miss jersey with the No. 10 on it.

"You better believe I'll wear it," Jim Kelly said. "I'm waiting for my brother to make that happen. I would wear it proudly."

Boise State true freshman quarterback Brett Rypien set school single-game records in the Broncos' upset loss to New Mexico with 41 completions on 72 attempts. he also threw for 503 yards and 2 touchdowns.

he threw 3 interceptions ... ALL of which hit his (three different) black receiver's hands before deflecting into the air and being snagged by a Lobo defender.

to continue to put his night's effort in perspective, his already-impressive numbers would've been even more eye-popping had he not suffered at least 12 drops in the game. ouch!

he is a terrific young talent, and (barring injury) he will likely emerge as a future superstar.
