Penn State is showing every weakness it did last year. WR drops, poor oline play, dumb play calling. Franklin has done nothing but bask in the spotlight.

Taysom Hill looks great coming off that terrible injury. Has 2 rush tds and just hooked up with Mitch Matthews for a TD.

Penn state looks absolutely horrible. Piss poor playcalling and execution. Franklin must of went to the David Shaw school of playcalling. Unreal.

Corner Back Micah Hanneman with the ESPN Top 10 highlight reel INT...He needs more playing time! If he does make it to the NFL they will try their best to make him a safety instead..

DB Nate Gerry picked off Taysom Hill earlier...& saved what might have been a long Hill TD run...Hill's passing looks improved...but the knee situation makes me a little nervous

WR Jordan Westerkamp had a great run for TD after the catch!

Hackenberg sacked 9 times so far. Apparently Franklin doesn't say know what max protect is, chip blocking is or using a running back in pass protection.

Looks like Petrino screwed over his white QBs - Kyle Bolin who played really well at the end of the season and Will Gardner who was last year's starting QB. Screw that caste clown.

WR Mitch Matthews with game winning hail-mary TD from Tanner Mangum; BYU beats Nebraska 33-28...was Hill hurt again?

How is Gardner's knee? Louisville defense has been among the very worst from a caste perspective over the years...

Not sure what happened to Taysom Hill. As far as Louisville it seems that the job was pretty much handed to Reggie Bonnafon. Not sure what Gardner's health status is but that Bolin kid was really good at the end of last season.

Sumlin playing musical chairs to put his little midget black quarterback in. He just short hopped a pass to a WR right after the announcers were saying he was about to unleash his arm. :icon_rolleyes:

Coker looks pretty good for Alabama and Stave has started the game strong for Wisconsin. Caputo is out with a concussion. Schobert has made some pretty nice plays thus far as well.

The Aggies just went up by 10 over the Sun Devils. Kyle Allen had around a 10 yard run for a td. The musical quarterbacks the coach is playing is stupid. Kyle Allen is night and day better than the freshman. If Texas A & M doesn't realise that, they will lose alot of games.

Still pumped about the win by Byu. Love it!

Allen is the superior QB.

It looks like BYUs victory came at a big cost as Hill is out for the year again.

That really sucks. The 2nd year in a row we have lost the most exciting qb in college football. I doubt the NFL would ever consider him anymore. Hope I'm wrong.

Bad luck: lightning will eventually strike twice, but it's worse for quarterbacks since bigger and better meatheads are lining up into a gap to smash you. It doesn't work in the NFL. Taysom Hill looks like a physical stud so the injuries hurt more out of a possible diamond in the rough of dual-threat NFL quarterbacks. The NFL is not poorer for this loss though.

What really sucks is that he could have put up a Heisman campaign in a year where the SEC champ could have lost twice. aka no champion narrative

Cooper Kupp continues to dominate in the fashion he always has. Kupp finished with 15 catches for 246 yards and 3 TDS in Eastern Washington's 42-61 loss to Oregon, setting the passes caught and single receiver receiving yardage records in Autzen stadium. I hate to be pessimistic, but I imagine all of Kupp's talent and athletic ability just won't "translate" to the next level, and he'll be faded out like so many other talented White receivers.

Vernon Adams opened the season vs his old team...no surprise this happened...

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2561939-high-hit-on-oregon-qb-vernon-adams-jr-leads-to-ejection

Cody Kessler & Connor Cook are the 2 most Pro-ready College QB's

Hated to hear that about Hill...didn't get to see what happened

Personally I loved that hit on Adams. Nothing like a little between the sidelines old fashioned message sending - it wasn't a blatant late hit he was in the air as Adams began his slide. Kupp dominated Oregon and the new Eastern Washington QB was just as prolific as Adams ever was in his first start.

Right now I think Goff and Kessler are the two most pro-ready college QBs. I watched Cook vs Western Michigan and his accuracy is off. He throws the ball high a little too much. I think it's probably a correctable thing/footwork and he is still a 1st round QB. Rosen was actually amazing yesterday going against UVA which does have a solid defense.

My Week 1 Observations:

Stanford and PSU disappoint - poor game management, coaching decisions, in game adjustments. Hogan and Hackenberg (now being labeled Sackenberg by DWF nation on social media) are both getting way too much criticism. Neither Shaw or Franklin are experiencing any criticism for their coaching that I have heard anyways. It is probably too early to write off either team but the lack of creative playcalling, protecting the QB and the same issues that hampered both teams last year following them into this year. When will either coach feel the heat? I am more willing to give Shaw the benefit of the doubt due but Franklin is out of his league as an Xs and Os. Both teams ran several sweep plays with WRs or ran the ball up the middle.

The longer term impact of these two teams struggles if they are to continue primarily revolves around Hackenberg's pro prospects. Coming into the season he has been widely regarded as the best QB prospect. His struggles seem to be more due to the o-line play, play calling and coaching rather than his abilities.

New QBs - Their were alot of really good performances by new starting QBs.

Probably the most impressive was True Freshman Josh Rosen of UCLA who played against a solid UVA defense and was able to carve it up with ease. He seemed very at ease out there and made several impressive throws.
Final Stat line: 28/35 351yds 3td/0int

Chad Kelly had a huge game as well - the well traveled nephew of Jim Kelly had a great debut for Ole Miss after leaving Clemson and playing at the JUCO level last year.
Final stat line: 9/15 211 yds 2td/1int 1 rush 20 yds 1 td

Jacob Coker of Alabama finally got his well deserved spot at the helm of the Alabama offense vs. a good Wisconsin defense. All he did was impress with his arm strength, decision making and grasping of the offense. Throughout the game "Herbie" kept comparing him to Blake Sims for some reason and saying that Coker was more of a "game manager" type QB Saban was used too. Basically giving him backhanded compliments/trying to take away from his actual talent. Coker is obviously the more physically gifted QB between him and Sims. As long as he stays healthy he should be the starter for the whole season.
Final stat line: 15/21 213 yds 1td/0 int

Some Other First year starters of note: Ryan Finley Boise St., Thomas Sirk Duke, Max Wittek Hawaii, Seth Russell Baylor, Mason Rudolph Ok St., Baker Mayfield Oklahoma, Nick Stephens Colorado St.

Revolving door at the Quarterback position - Both Texas A&M and Florida were rotating their QBs in and out of the lineups. With A&M Sumlin is replacing the true sophomore Kyle Allen with a scattershot supposedly highly regarded Kyler Murray who can run the ball but like most black quarterbacks is unable to make all the requisite throws. I hope that Sumlin is smart enough to not mess with Kyle Allen's development. Florida is still playing musical chairs at the QB position trying to find the starting QB. Another undersized, scattershot arm black quarterback - Treon Harris is competing against Will Grier the redshirt freshman who has the better arm, size and athleticism. They both played well yesterday but hopefully Mcelwain decides Grier is the better fit.

Along with Cooper Kupp' huge game...15 rec 246 yards...3 TD's..other big games from:
Gehrig Deiter(Bowling Green)...7-133-1
Jenson Stoshak(FAU)...7-114-1
Jake Weinke (So.Dakota St)...8-160-2
Jordan Westerkamp(Nebraska) 7-107-1

Under the Radar One to Watch: Quinn Covey (Utah)...only 5'-8" 166...true freshman has generated has some buzz... 5-58

Jake Butt 8-93-1....is a big-time TE for Michigan!

Zach Langer(Tulsa)..24 carries for 89 yards & 3 TD's

Where are the Running Backs?

Nice rundown Leonardfan..lots of promising future QB's...agreed...in the end Will Grier should win the job

Good stuff Twenty-Two. I created a 2015 WR/TE thread for the FBS (Division 1) guys. I think Kupp is the most dominant WR in either the FBS or FCS though. I forgot to mention him.

McAffery is the only real big name running back and he disappointed somewhat. I know A.J. Oulette is a good player for Ohio but I will need to dig for any other white RBs.

Former Walk-on RB(Fullback?) Sam Rogers (Va.Tech) with the 51 yard TD catch! Earlier he had a nice 16 yard run that i missed...

Possibly the Defensive Player of the Week...San Diego St. LB- Calvin Munson with 2 TD's on INT's for a total of 86 yards...one of the Best LBers on the West Coast!

Yeah Stanford looked like they were sleepwalking (game started 9:00a.m. Pacific Time) & simply didn't match Northwestern's intensity led by their coach Pat Fitzgrerald was a great CFB LBer...McCaffrey ended up with 66 yards rushing on 12 carries; 5 rec/23 yds & had some nice KO Returns..but his fumble inside the 2 was big(along w Rector dropping the long pass late)...just wasn't their day...was hoping they could sneak into the Final 4 playoff!

WR Jared Murphy Miami-OH had 5 rec ...101 yds..

Back up's RB Tyler Hunt(Mizzou) only had 5 carries/20 yds..but had a 78 yd TD catch
Blake Martin (La.Tech) 7 carries...45 yards

A.J. Ouilette(Ohio U. starter?) 9 carries for 48 yards

Awesome play by Rogers saw that live he looked fast and very fluid for his size. A black back his size would be a no doubt running back. A white guy his size is a walk-on fullback. C'mon people it's obvious.
