Was just about to post this.
Times at Clermont are always notoriously fast, so take them with a grain of salt, but the results still show that Kilty and Jackubcyk are now at an elevated level in the sprints. It was expected from Kilty given his indoor season. Jackubcyk is a bit of a nice surprise. I'm very excited about this season!
That is close to the German national record. It also could erase an old GDR record which is an embarrassment to the German track establishment. Ps where is Clermont?

Julian Reus ran a solid 20.55 in the 200m, but only a 10.34 in the 100m.
Christian Blum, Greg Cackett, and Shane Crawford also ran at this meet, but their performances were unfortunately sub-par.
Still we have Lukas, Kilty, Gemeli, and possibly Lemaitre to look forward to this summer.

Teeters eyeing 10 sec barrier

April 24, 2014
Less than a week removed from running a 10.14 in the 100 meters, the No. 3 time in the NCAA, Oklahoma State's John Teeters answered some questions about his time as a sprinter at OSU.

On what drove his decision to transfer from Tulsa to OSU:

“When I sent my transfer request, I sent a letter to OSU. I know they didn’t really have a sprint program, but I thought ‘Why not?’ I verbally committed to OU, but they basically cleaned out their staff and nobody told me. After that, I met Diego [Flaquer] and I’m so glad I did. He is the main reason I came here. I wanted a personal relationship with my coach and we have that. He made me feel comfortable, and again, he was the main reason I came here.â€￾
On which schools he rooted for growing up:
“I grew up in an OU household, so everyone was always rooting for the sooners, but I always wanted to play football for LSU. However, after I quit football that went out the door. I started my collegiate track career at Tulsa. I was never a true OSU football fan, but when I started coming up here for football games, that changed instantly. I’m all about the Cowboys now.â€￾
On being an integral part of the rise of OSU’s sprints program:
“When I first came here, the coaches and I talked about getting the sprint program on the map. I remember the talk starting about us possibly getting Tyreek Hill, and that was big for us. I remember someone I knew from another Big 12 school asking when OSU started getting sprinters and I was like, ‘This year, man. We’re coming up!’ It’s fun to be part of starting a program like this.â€￾
On his friendship with Tyreek Hill:

“He motivates me, for sure. He puts a fire under me. I see the success he has and I want it, too. We keep each other competitive. I know if he wasn’t here, I wouldn’t be competitive as I am. He definitely pushes me. We are supportive toward each other. It’s not really like a ‘Hey look what I ran kind of thing,’ we are just looking to make each other better.â€￾On the types of music he listens to when it’s time to race:
“I listen to a mixture of things. I’ll go from a sort of dance music, to dubstep, to house music. It gets my spirit lifted, in a way. However, when it’s time to race, I want to listen to hardcore rap music. It gets me pumped up. Artists like Ace Hood, Meek Mill, Kevin Gates and Young Jeezy. I like anything that has a good flow to it. I’ve been listening to a lot of Kendrick Lamar lately.â€￾
On whether he was always the fastest kid in his class growing up:
“I was always up there. I was quick. I was always the fastest for the first 40 yards or so, but I wasn’t great from a stamina standpoint. I always ended up getting caught, eventually. I feel like I was a late bloomer, because when I hit my growth spurt I slowed down, and it took a while to get the speed back.â€￾
On when he realized he could sprint competitively:
“Sprinting kind of found me. I quit football my junior year, and the year before that I tried to be a jumper for the track team. It was much more technical than I thought. At one meet the coaches threw me into the 100 meters and I ran an 11.5 or something. It wasn’t anything special, but I ran a good split on a relay as well, and they asked me to be on the school’s relay. My junior year, after training a bit, I started to realize I could sprint. I went to an indoor meet in Arkansas and got second in the 60 meters. After that, I figured I should stick with track.â€￾
On his goals for sprinting at OSU:
“I want to break the 10 second mark, legally, in the 100 meters. I think that would be really cool. Overall, I just want to be the best that I can be. I would like to break 6.5 in the 60 meters and go low-20s in the 200 meters. I want to be competing at the national level.â€￾
On setting and competing for school sprint records:
“It’s kind of weird. It’s kind of shocking, too. I work so hard. I really think if you work hard, there’s no limit to what you can do. It’s cool to see myself in the record books at a big school like this. It reminds me that my work is paying off. I’m not where I want to be yet, but I’m taking big steps toward getting there.â€￾
On his favorite thing about Oklahoma State:
“The people here are so friendly. I could be walking to class and get smiles from people I don’t know. I always see people doing stuff like holding doors for each other, too. I think OSU is full of a lot of the good-natured people the state of Oklahoma has to offer. It brings a humble and positive atmosphere to the school.â€￾

as a follow up to my post about Teeters running in the Big 12 Championship this weekend, i was looking over the lists for this season's top 100-meter times and i noticed a name that i've not seen before.

Tom Blocker, a senior for California, ran a slightly windy (2.5) 10.34 100-meters just over a month ago at the Mt. Sac Relays. does that make him the second-fastest White collegiate sprinter in the country today? known more for his prowess in the 200 (21.11 this year), Blocker has a wind-legal 10.41 that he ran two weeks ago.

Blocker also set the Cal record in the 60-meters earlier this year, running a 6.74.

he's a late bloomer, but he can move. he is scheduled to run in the Pac-12 Championships this weekend.

in the 200-meters, the fastest time put up by a White collegiate athlete thus far this season is a windy 20.50 by TCU true sophomore Sam Watts. the Brit ran a wind-legal 21.08 just over a month ago at the Florida Relays. he's also run a wind-legal 10.48 in the 100.

Georgia sophomore Leontia Kallenou shot to No. 1 on the NCAA performance list by clearing 6 feet, 3 ¼ inches (1.91 m) in the women's high jump. the mark currently ranks #7 in the world. a native of Cyprus, the effort also secures her place in the European Championships in August.

Here are the results from the Manchester City Games in England. I was hoping for a faster time from Kilty. Not sure how the
weather was outside of it being very windy. I'm hoping it was a little on the cold side and that caused the times to be a little
bit slower. Of course most races over there are not in ideal conditions. The weather is so unpredictable and often cold.

Men's 100m

1) Femi Ogunode 10.14
2) Ujah 10.18
3) Richard Kilty 10.19

wind + 2.9

Tom Blocker was mentioned once here before, during the Cal-Stanford dual meet when all the sprint events were won by white sprinters. He's coming along nicely and a wind legal 10.3x would be an excellent time.

Georgia also has a star decathlete from Estonia to watch out for, Maicel Uibo.

John Teeters ran a 10.14 with 1.0 wind in the prelims at the Big12 Championships. Same time as he ran in California, but with less wind.
Hope he can go faster in the finals...he was 2nd fastest qualifier.

Also at the Big 12 Champs, Zach Bilderbach of Texas was the fastest qualifier in the 400m, 45.80; and also qualified for the 200m in 20.90
Meanwhile at the Pac12 Championships Jenna Prandini was the #1 qualifier in the long jump, and the #2 qualifier in the 100m and the 200m. Marybeth Sant also qualified in the 100m and 200m. So 2 white girls to the finals of both short sprints. It must be a long time since that happened.
Meanwhile Katie Wise was the fastest 100m qualifier in the Missouri Valley Conference Championships.

Teeters is the find of the season regardless of what happens in the finals. To run that fast wind legal twice is insane when I think about it. I just hope he continues to run post college. It would be a tragedy if he didn't. He has the talent to run in the olympics someday.

Thanks for the updates jacknyc. I've been busy with a friend who's getting married.

In a little over 3 hours from now, John Teeters will be running in the finals of the Big 12 100 meters Finals. He is only a sophmore and he ran 10.14 yesterday. He just might win the whole thing. The guy can flat out fly. Hoping we can find some video coverage. Here is a link to the live results. The race will take place at approx. 5.40 eastern time. Come on John. You can do it. Sub 10.10 and a win & I will be very happy.

Just following up on some of the Conference Championships....the news about Teeters has already been reported. Hopefully there's more good things to come from him. He's just a sophomore.
Meanwhile, on the west coast we now have a bonafide superstar in Jenna Prandini. She won the 100m, the 200m, and Long Jump at the Pac 12 Championships! Her time in the 200m was very impressive: 22.60 (-1.6w!).
Marybeth Sant, the freshman, was 5th in the 100m and 8th in the 200m.
I am super stoked for Jenna!
Katie Wise won the Missouri Valley Conf. Championships in an impressive time of 11.23 (Jenna's time was 11.21. So let's not overlook this girl.
Zack Bilderback was the winner of the Big 12 400m - 45.66, a good time.

I'll check some other results to see what else we have, but I'm very happy with the above news! :)

Teeters and Prandini have me as excited about american white sprinters as any time in my life. Happy for all of the other great performances as well. Despite Teeters running a wind aided sub 10, he still had to be able to turn his legs over that fast to get there. Easier said than done. Running that fast is hell on your body. He is slowly getting acustomed to running world class times. With two years of college left, who knows how fast he can run before he graduates. The same for Prandini as he is capable of sub 11 in time.

Glad to be back ..have been quite busy .....any way ,, great to see teeters doing so well ..what a set of wheels ..he has all the tools ...will be interesting to see which athlete begin to break out over 200, it's still very early in the pro season . From an American perspective I think Brandon byram was $&:;$& by the USAtf when not making the world relay champs squad ...

Clearly, Prandini was the performer of the day--that was the stuff of legend. However, I want to draw attention to the incredible work of Bilderback. He was running on a hugely windy day. Both the 100 and 400 had wind readings of over 4. Wind is death to 400m runners, as indeed it is death in any race of one lap or more. You can see it in the times. The big name 400 meter runners from Baylor (where the distance is prized) and Texas Tech struggled to pedestrian times. Bilderback, meanwhile, fought off the wind and ran a splendid time. He beat Blake Heriot by 2 seconds, Isaiah Duke by 5 seconds. His time would have been good under perfect conditions. Very impressive.

Exactly one week ago was the PAC 12 Outdoor Championships...and what a showing by our athletes!
YPPLDMZFECKVXFW.20140519010738.jpg

In a very white field, Washington State Freshman CJ Allen won the 400m hurdles, while Oregon freshman Devon Allen came back from an awful first half of the race to take the silver.
26870908.jpg

The aforementioned multi-sport phenom Devon Allen took second in the 110h final. Serbian Milan Ristic of Cal came in third.

10968381-large.jpg

Decathlete Dakotah Keyes continued Oregon's multi-event dominance, winning his third straight Decathlon title, while teammate Mitch Modin was a third place finish as a freshman.

No one here commented on the IAAF World Relays. The U.K. Team from England took the bronze medal in the 4 x 100 Relay. In the heats they were the only team other than Jamaica to go sub 38 seconds and they did it with 2 of the 4 sprinters being white. Kilty and Talbot. Then in the final only Kilty was allowed to run. Old man and drug cheat Dwain Chambers ran a horrible anchor leg and they went from a sure silver to a bronze medal. He shouldn't even still be running. Why did they switch teams for the final? It made no sense. They ran way slower. I'm guessing it's because the 4 x 100 Relay Coach is also Chambers Coach. Well they were lucky to get a medal with the way he ran. Kilty smoked the first leg in the heats and the final. He now has two international medals. I'm happy for the kid. I feel bad for Danny Talbot as he should have been anchoring the final leg in the final. I really think they would have taken silver for sure.

John Teeters was the fastest qualifier in the NCAA West Regionals today.
His time.... 10.14 again!
That's the 3rd time he's run 10.14 this season.
Very, very consistent.
Now let's see if he can get faster. Hope so.

p.s Jenna Prandini was the fastest women's qualifier in the West Regionals, and Katie Wise was the fastest qualifier in the East Regionals!
Fantastic stuff!!!

John Teeters again, the fastest qualifier, this time in the semis of the NCAA Western Regionals.... 10.11 (+2.7w)
Katie Wise, 2nd fastest qualifier in the the semis of the Eastern Regionals, 11.18 (+2.7)
And finally, Jenna Prandini, the fastest qualifier in the semis of the Western Regionals, 11.17 (-0.1).

People, this is remarkable, uncharted territory for white American sprinters.
We haven't this kind of success in the 100m in 40 years or more.
The fact that both the men and women have potential medalists for the NCAA 100m is fantastic!

Galen Rupp with an American record in the 10,000 meters!
Apparently he made it look easy, while beating a mostly east African field in the process.
