Joey Bosa had an excellent game against Maryland yesterday. The Washington ComPost actually was full of praise for him today. One columnist said that Bosa didn't seem to notice Maryland's offensive line was on the field. He is 6-5, 278 and was actually a highly rated recruit in high school, as difficult as that is to believe. He seems like he could be another JJ Watt type player in the NFL.

At Utah St the Vigil Brothers are wreaking havoc in Kyler Fackrell's absence.

Nick Vigil has 60 total tackles/2 sacks/6.5 TFL/1 int along with playing RB for Utah State.

Zach Vigil has 64 total tackles/2.5 sacks/10 TFL and a pick 6. He looks to be emerging as a draftable prospect.

Have to add Frankie Sutera to the list of Utah St defenders - has 4 ints so far on the season!

The leading tacklers in the country are both white:
Dakota Cox LB Univ of New Mexico has 83 total tackles
Nate Holley S Kent St has 80 total tackles

There are a lot of good white defensive players that are overlooked because they either play in the Big 10, MAC, PAC 12 and Mountain west conference. These conferences are all overlooked as the NFL uses the ACC and SEC as it's main feeder system into the NFL for defenses.

8 of the top 20 tacklers in the country are white.

I hate to beat a dead horse here but...... Oregon wr Devon Allen is " WHITE ". This kid does not have a speck of black blood in him. I have seen literally tens of thousands of mixed people in this country in my lifetime. He is white. His mother must have slept around because Allen's father is not his biological one as I have been perusing scores of pictures lately. The kid is white.

Good article on Zach Hoffpauir who has consistently "flashed" when I have watched Stanford this season.

http://www.sfgate.com/collegesports...ty-Hoffpauir-plays-with-a-chip-on-5825568.php

According to Hoffpauir, “a bunch of schoolsâ€￾ told him he was too small and too slow for big-time college football. His attitude, he said, was “You’ll see. Hope you don’t play us.â€￾ He constantly plays “with a chip on my shoulder.â€￾

Yea a 6'0 193 lb safety is too small and somehow he got by in high school as a 4 sport athlete with no speed.

Scooby Wright is the best defensive player in the country. I would recommend to any of the college football fans on this board to check out Arizona to play at least once this year. He had something like 9 tackles and 3 sacks in the first quarter of the game last night vs. UCLA.

Through 8 games his stats are:

tackles - 60 solo/37 assisted
TFL - 18.5
Sacks - 11
FF - 5

He still has 4 games to go. He could be putting together one of the best college football seasons in history for a defensive player.

During the broadcast the announcers gave him the typical high-motor comments, saying he wasn't the biggest or most athletic. He is listed at 6'1 246 as a sophomore. He was only offered a scholarship by Arizona (no surprise there). He should be an early round pick.

I've said the same thing all year long. Finally someone agrees with me. Tevis is also a stud for AZ and they have many more
guys on defense that can play. Too bad the offense didn't show up last night and that they are not as fair on the offensive side
of the ball as they are on the defensive side.

White Lightning you may have been the one who originally mentioned the Arizona defense. I tip my cap to you sir. I could care less about the offense but the white players on defense are fun to watch.

Two more PAC 12 players to keep an eye on that get no national press are Brian Blechen and Hunter Dimick. They are two of the reasons Utah has one of the best defenses in the country.

Brian Blechen DB Senior

Tackles - 30 solo/8 assisted - 38 total
TFL - 1 - 4 yds lost
PBUs - 4
INTs 1

Hunter Dmick DE Sophomore
Tackles - 21 solo/17 assisted - 38 total
TFL - 10.5 - 55 yds lost
Sacks - 9
FFs - 2

Scooby Wright was awarded the Pac 12 Defensive Player of the Week for the 2nd week in a row. The kid is a beast!

Very well deserved White Lightning. Arizona's defense was really fun to watch, I still can't believe how dominant Wright was during that game. I have seen alot of good defensive performances but can't recall any as good as Wright - maybe AJ Hawk at Ohio St back in 2005 had a game like Wright did.

Again thanks for bringing him to everyone's attention here.

Not sure where to post this but freshman rb from Colorado State, Trey Smith, has been moved to cornerback. He is an excellent athlete so I hope he gets a chance to play soon if at all. CSU in the last 2 decades has played many white corners so I hope he gets a chance.
